I hate to bring this up but why do people talk about Adam Jones like he’s potentially a $100MM player and yet people talk about a comparable talent like Nick Swisher (very similar numbers) and nobody seems to be willing to give the guy more than 2 years/$16MM (hypothetically speaking)?
This is why I think baseball is as much about perception as it is cold hard stats.
