The f is wrong with ATL
They look like the 2024 whitesox
No more Braves bad news please, even if you’re not a fan. Next they’ll be reporting they’re moving back to Boston and are rebranding back to the Beaneaters.
Interesting to see a lot of projections calling 6/170m roughly the median for a Crochet extension based on his needing to average only 140 innings a year for the next six years.
Despite where MLBTR goes after the 6:45 mark, this is nothing like signing a #1 SP already in his 30s. They also later remark ‘he’s never gotten to 150 innings.’
He doesn’t need to, particularly if he’s available in the postseason. Forget your ‘ace level [ as in ‘number of’ ] innings.’ This contract is about ace-caliber innings.
Not to pick on the Yankees, but would you rather have Crochet, or Fried at the years and dollars each got? Or if you’re their GMs would you rather have had Rodon prior to 2024 or Crochet now?
It comes off disingenuous when one compares an extension contracts to free agents
You obviously don’t know jack
Those Yankees FA contracts are not comparable to the Crochett EXTENSION – which they also gave up a prospect haul for the right to engage in. This is simple fallacy by analogy and as such immediately discardable.
