If they insist on a salary floor, they’ll get a salary cap. In truth, I don’t think a salary floor is a realistic expectation.
You can’t have one without the other. Not if you’re sincerely trying to correct the situation fairly. You need both with a narrow corridor between the two, salary floor 80%-90% of the salary cap for instance.
That’s the way the NFL does it. But they also share ALL revenues, unlike MLB.
