Do we read into anything with Bregman only playing third so far in games? I would assume if the plan is to have him at second, he should be getting more work there in game action over third.
Yay another chat from Steve where he makes definitive statements like Soto won’t be traded, Zaidi won’t be fired, and Mookie won’t play the infield.
It’s not interesting for fans to hear him be so wrong while acting like there’s no way for him to be anything other than right.
Steve and Anthony say the same things Tim does and that’s why he has them do most of the chats but it’s boring to hear the same perspective from 3 different people while the rest of the staff barely gets chats because they don’t fall in line.
It’s literally easier to get a more popular site like Fangraphs to answer your questions unless it’s “who will win the AL/NL central?”
Pan City – I feel like if the fanbase consensus is heavily biased toward a belief, it is easy to reiterate a rhetoric. Steve may answer questions the same way most of us would, because that’s how most of us would feel.
However, I also feel Steve has very original context to his answers. Examples from today’s chat are the fantasy lineup and trade proposal, Cardinals off-season, LAD AAA hypothetical, Dale Murphy, Shane Smith… some of the answers being quite deep dives for a live chat, while remaining entertaining.
Steve tends to pull questions and even comments from a wide spectrum, displaying range and vulnerability to the defamation of the status quo. I don’t think Mr. Adams cares too much about “falling in line” based on the questions he tends to be willing to answer in his own words. Then again, I don’t know which questions he’s skipped or is not willing to answer because of some rules.
Thanks for another fun chat Steve Adams.
I don’t think Steve is worried about falling in line either. I think he has learned what Tim wants over a decade of working for him. Which is a credit to Steve. Mr Dierkes owns the website so it makes sense why he would put employees who have similar stances.
It’s just boring from my perspective. I feel like, Steve takes the “safe” perspective so often that he gets a lot of easy calls wrong. Just being less definitive would save him from being wrong so often but im glad you enjoy his chats. I just like diversity of opinions more than you do, I guess. Even fangraphs has more differences in opinion but they also have a bigger staff and more writers doing these chats. MLBTR is great, I just think it could be better.
How many times will I see this website mention they don’t understand what STL is doing? Every chat.
If anyone understands what the Cardinals are doing, I would love an explanation!
Do u think the Astros will find another Left handed hitter before the season starts and who do u think they will sign.
