That’s a hard one to choose. The are both 30-31 in age so only a few years left. Santander had 44 hr with 102 RBI batting like .235. Profar batted .285 with only 22 hr I think and 85 RBI. Their career BA are close to the same. It would be a wash on which one to get. But I’d lean more towards Santander. I’ll take his stats to get more scoring. And might be more fun as a power hitter. Specially in the Reds Ballpark.
Santander is more proven n has mashed for few yrs now, Profar may have just had fluke yr in ’24. I’d take Santander.
Profar had many bad years and 1 good year so assuming the same contract I would take Santander 100% of the time.
Profar was predicted to get less money and years and there hasn’t been much buzz about him, I’d take a chance..
Santander has a better OPS+ than Profar 2 of the last 3 seasons and is a year younger. Salary certainly is a factor, but I’d take Santander.
Shoulder issues are tricky. The Braves away had traded Kyle Wright to the royals for shoulder issues, maybe they saw something similar.
Yup, shoulders are different than elbows. Big difference between success rates coming off TJ surgery n shoulder capsule or rotator cuff surgery. When they do go into shoulder P is never the same.
As someone who has had 2 shoulder surgeries, I can assure you that you are correct.
And my surgeries were done by a surgeon who specializes in pitching injuries and works for numerous MLB clubs.
I’m no athlete, I researched around, he took my insurance, so I went there.
Santander will get more money and years, so it’s about who your scouts/ analytics people think will perform well in the next couple years in your ball park.
If I am the reds, I go for Santander as he’s younger and will fit better w there timeline. Also, the extra money won’t matter w the Reds as they have very little payroll commitments
Braxton Garrett might have been spared if he had reached out to Roger Beshens Football Slider. Roger Beshens on center grip, throw like football, stiff wrist, and his method of explaining techniques he showed in the Dbacks clubhouse last May 23 are crucial for understanding how to optimize the pitch and maintain good health.
Steve Adams really likes the word “like.”
