What does it take to kill the “The Orioles need a Ace” narrative (especially to start a playoff game)?
In 2024 they had Corbin Burnes for the entire season. He pitched as well as one could ask out of any Ace.
For a bit over the last half of the season the O’s played around .500 ball (as they traded a few vets and gave youngsters playing time). They had problems in the following areas: 1) Steady Defense; 2) Baseruning; and 3) Hitting – particularly Situational/Clutch Hitting.
In short, their problem wasn’t pitching.
They need an Ace pitcher for the playoffs? Burnes started the first of the 2 playoff games they were in. The O’s lost that game.
Cut it out already with the silly rotisserie league narrative about the Orioles needing an Ace by looking at statistics. They’re a young team, getting younger, that has to learn how to play and win at the ML level. That’s going to take a little time…..if it happens.

It’s quite clear a guy who played fantasy baseball a long time ago out smarted Samuel in a baseball argument (not hard to do) and likely was taking care of his wife’s needs as well.
So you’re saying that they had an Ace, then they lost an Ace… 1-1=0 not that hard to figure out.
Os broke training camp in 2023 with no Ace. I’ll be; they won 101 games. In 2024, they left Sarasota with an Ace and finished up with 91 wins. Whaaat?!
Of course, you gotta have SP rotation talent to be competitive BUT it’s no good if all banged up.
Os 23 rotation, outside of Wells, stayed remarkably healthy throughout the season.
The 2024 Os rotation? Utter injury devastation. Ugh. Here’s to good health in 2025 fellas. Give us an ERA around 4.00 and that offense that is capable of avg 5 runs/game

Chickpeas and garbanzo beans are different names for the same thing. Garbanzo is the Spanish word for chickpea. It’s like rocket and arugula, Or eggplant and aubergine, or green onions and scallions, alligator pears and avocadoes, peanuts and goobers, etc.
I’ve never heard the term alligator pear before.
