Upgrading the rotation is a known goal for the Red Sox this winter, with such trade targets and free agents as Garrett Crochet, Max Fried, and old friend Nathan Eovaldi already reportedly on Boston’s radar in the offseason’s early stages. Blake Snell is another prominent name also under consideration, as ESPN’s Jeff Passan (in a recent appearance on the Baseball Bar-B-Cast) said the Sox “are talking with” the two-time Cy Young Award winner.
The Red Sox were somewhat lightly linked to Snell’s market when he was a free agent last year, as while reports suggested the Sox had some level of interest in the left-hander, other pitchers like Aaron Nola and Jordan Montgomery were ahead of Snell on Boston’s wish list. As it turned out, the Sox didn’t end up landing any of the top-tier arms available on the market, even though Snell and Montgomery were both available deep into Spring Training, and Montgomery didn’t end up signing with the Diamondbacks until Opening Day.
At this point in the winter calendar, it is fair to assume the Red Sox are “in on” several pitchers to one degree or another, so it isn’t any surprise that they’ve reached out to Snell out of due diligence alone. That said, the two parties are a natural fit, which is likely why MLBTR’s Darragh McDonald and Anthony Franco each predicted Snell would indeed sign with Boston as part of our site’s top 50 free agent projections (Snell ranks fourth on our list, and is predicted to land a five-year, $160MM contract).
The Red Sox have largely eschewed making splashy signings in recent years, as the club has been more focused on reloading the minor league system and finding value signings than making a truly aggressive bid to contend. After three straight non-winning seasons, patience is running thin within the fanbase, and there is some increased pressure on the Sox front office to make a big-budget signing as a clear marker that the club wants to win. Landing a top pitcher like Snell would certainly count in this category, and give the Sox the ace-level pitcher the rotation so clearly needs.
Snell’s extended stay in free agency ended last winter when he joined the Giants in mid-March, and the abbreviated nature of his Spring Training prep initially seemed to be leading to a disastrous season. The left-hander’s first three months in San Francisco resulted in two injured-list stints and a 9.51 ERA over six starts and 23 2/3 innings, and yet as has so often been the case in Snell’s career, he only got better as the season developed. In the most extreme example yet of Snell’s second-half surges, he had a phenomenal 1.23 ERA over his final 14 starts and 80 1/3 innings, once again re-establishing himself as one of baseball’s best pitchers. As such, Snell chose to exercise the opt-out clause in his two-year, $62MM deal with San Francisco, foregoing the $30MM owed to him in 2025 in order to chase a pricier long-term commitment.
This isn’t to say that some of the questions that clouded Snell’s market last winter have entirely disappeared. He was again hampered by injuries, and is now another year old, as he’ll turn 32 in December. However, one key difference between Snell’s free agent status from last year to this year is that he no longer has a qualifying offer attached to his services. Snell rejected the Giants’ qualifying offer last winter, and since the QO can only be issued to a player once in his career, a team is free to sign Snell without having to surrender any compensation.
Boston would have to give up $500K in international bonus pool money as well as its second-highest pick in next year’s draft in order to sign a qualified free agent. It can be argued that Snell’s lack of QO status is a bigger deal for luxury tax payors, as since they face a stiffer penalty for signing one of the 13 free agents who were issued qualifying offers this offseason, a pitcher like Snell might have more appeal than a qualified pitcher like Fried or Corbin Burnes.
Still, the Red Sox would certainly love to avoid losing a draft pick if they can help it, plus the Sox could also be considering Snell and a qualified free agent. For instance, the Sox are interested in Juan Soto and Teoscar Hernandez among the position player class, in addition to their quest for rotation help. Nick Pivetta also appears likely to reject Boston’s qualifying offer, so the Sox would get a compensatory pick back if Pivetta signed elsewhere.

Low IQ Angels Management
Angels are too inept to sign a front end starting pitcher and Snell is too smart to accept if they did.
cookmeister 2
The angels wanted him last year and vice versa, Arte just didn’t want the opt out after year 1
G-lo
You all just know if he signed with the Angels, that would be the death Snell of his career
william-2
I don’t see the Mariners in on this. They have pitching. More importantly, they have more pressing issues to deal with. They certainly were not losing because of pitching talent, and down the road they have to worry about retaining their own guys. That money is better spent spread on the known weaknesses. The Snell contract is the kind that can be spread and address 2 or 3 needs instead. They are on the bubble of being formidable with a stronger offense.
Fever Pitch Guy
william – As long as Seattle continues to be the most pitcher-friendly stadium in MLB, they will continue to have problems attracting good free agent hitters.
I think O’Neill would be a great fit in Seattle though, he has enough power to compensate for Park Factor.
william-2
Exactly. Snell isn’t a priority. Throwing money at good hitters that can hopefully play D is their main problem and goal.
Poolhalljunkies
He hasnt signed anyplace yet so you may still be right

Snell only costs money so he should sign quickly
LordD99
Yes, because we’ve seen Boras clients always sign quickly.
RHyde 2
There’s no QO here. He’ll sign much quicker than last year.

Hyde – Did Montgomery or JD Martinez have a QO attached to them last offseason?
Snell got the big contract offers last offseason ….. Boras just recommended he not accept any of them.

all in the suit that you wear
If they make a competitive offer for Soto, they should be a top bidder for Burnes who I prefer over Snell.
tff17
And if they aren’t willing to pay any of the three, we end up with Flaherty or Kikuchi…
all in the suit that you wear
As they met with Soto with Theo Epstein, I am thinking this will be a different offseason. This is the first offseason since Theo’s return and I think they will make some large bids on players. I think they will make a competitive bid on Soto which should be significantly more than Burnes will wind up with. So, I think they will be a top bidder for Burnes. Hopefully, one of them accepts the offer.
all in the suit that you wear
I’m assuming they don’t land Soto and move onto starting pitchers and I hope Burnes is at the top of their list.
tff17
I hope so! Theo was not too shy to make big deals.
acell10
the more I look into the pitching options the more I’d rather they pivoted to Freid
all in the suit that you wear
Why do you like Fried best? I wouldn’t mind getting him and he might sign a more reasonable deal.
all in the suit that you wear
a more reasonable deal than Burnes
Sagacity
All – No offense but NOTHING suggests they are moving on anyone. We all wish it but there is NO EVIDENCE that any star player is going to be contracted this off season. We have said the same thing for the last four off seasons and NOT ONE star player has been contracted since JD Martinez 7 years ago.
All it takes is ONE big signing for all the fans to start believing again but until it happens, it’s a bunch of hot air!!
mcase7187
I think they are going to get any of their pitching upgrades it will be from trades not FA guys like Corbin and Snell are too high risk for the contracts (age, injury) they will command plus Snell is or was horrible against the AL East
The only pitcher I could see them trying to get in FAs is Max F but I’m sure Chris Sale has warned him about playing in Boston
william-2
Fried is the better pure pitcher. Burnes is the clear bulldog ace. Snell has the best stuff, although fairly wild.
Health is the wild card, but any of these guys will demand years, not just dollars, so health is a factor. That being said, there has never been a starter that you would be a 100% sure would stay healthy with just minor issues, let alone an arm issue eventually wiping out a year or two worth of games on a long-term deal. You guestimate on it all.
william-2
The Red Sox are reported to be in on everyone, every year. Kicking the tires, interested in, preliminary talks, sending out feelers, etc., until the money stage of negotiations inevitably begins, and all the top guys begin to fall off the board.
They have to do something. I just hope it isn’t for the sake of it and patch work the exact same weaknesses and needs we have had for 4 straight years.
Big whiffa
I agree ! I think they are players for Soto ! Thats why they need to go ahead and make a splash elsewhere to show Soto they are serious. Go get fried ! He seems the like the least risk and not as costly
acell10
as you said Fried will sign for a more reasonable deal but also his peripherals have remained pretty stable while Burns have been in decline. I just think Fried’s contract will age better

I don’t mind fans being skeptical, The FO brought this on themselves.
But I also would pay -0- attention to who they “are in on”. I think the RS sometimes drops that on writers as mis-direction, or to drive up the price for the NYY, or sometimes it’s just writers’ imaginations and egos pushing the writing.
The numbers of times I’ve heard rumors about players that virtually no chance is amazing.

Snell plus trade Casas for Gilbert… bring Carlos Santana and Teoscar
vtadave
Pretty sure the Mariners would decline
Rsox
You want to trade a young First Baseman and then replace him with a soon-to-be 39 year old?
kingbum
Easier to get a power hitting first baseman than a quality starting pitcher these days. I’d trade Casas for Gilbert, I’d move Devers to first. Maybe Rafaela could pick up 3rd and keep Story on Short. I’d look more at third for a free agent. Devers the weak link in the infield.
william-2
It makes sense to trade Casas for pitching if the reason is to upgrade the staff and move Devers off of third FINALLY. So, no to Santana. The Yoshida situation is a sticking point on why Devers is still allowed to own a baseball glove imho. You hate to have a guy in his 20’s at DH, but frankly, he shouldn’t have been out at 3rd base for years. The stubbornness and wishful thinking are getting old. Devers simply isn’t going to have that amazing defensive turn around Boggs had.
Big whiffa
So you are saying move Yoshida to 3rd ? I like Bregman there too if they miss out on Soto
Cases for Ober from twins makes sense. Sox can eat some salary from twins if need be
william-2
I don’t know where you got that from my post. Devers to first. Yoshida isn’t untradable, but he is damn near going to be an eaten contract to trade. Yoshida is the DH.
Fever Pitch Guy
William – When I see Devers start taking reps at 1B during ST and the regular season, then I’ll believe they are getting ready to make the change.
They are not gonna trade Casas and move Devers to 1B without him gaining any experience there first.
Remember Linares wanted Devers to play 1B in the WBC and Cora refused to allow it.
Fever Pitch Guy
william – I just hope once and for all Yoshida can play at 100% all season, so that we can truly see what we’ve got in him.
william-2
They aren’t, you probably won’t, and not worth really discussing other than that EVERYONE sees the issue except them.
william-2
Would be nice to see, but I am a less concerned about the original signing NOT because he isn’t a 30 HR guy that hits in the .300 range then I am about him being a DH. When they signed a guy that was universally viewed as a defensive liability, I didn’t think they grasped what that meant. That concerns me.
bwmiller79
Snell’s last five starts in ’24 pretty impressive, 3-0 25IP 49K/8BB 3ER granted he only threw 100 IPs all season.
Big whiffa
This is why I’d stay away from late offseason signings if I am a gm. Players need to get there early and be ready day 1 or it sets the stage for a major let down like what happened with snell and the pitcher the dbacks signed. I don’t mind boras milking these clubs for every cent – it’s their opportunity to do so. I just wouldn’t consider any of these guys past the end of January
swanhenge
Not sure how much Snell raises the ceiling. Maybe a little, but rather Burnes/Fried
Blackpink in the area
Really? He has as high of a ceiling as anyone does.

I was referring to Breslow’s comment of wanting to raise the ceiling of the starting staff.
Blackpink in the area
Snell certainly raises the ceiling.

Blackpink – I think Skenes has an equal probability of being contracted as Snell, Fried, Burnes or any other ceiling rising starting pitcher you can mention.
I’m trying to give everyone a shot of reality. It’s been 7 years since the last all-star was contracted. What has changed?
Nothing. The owners are making enormous sums of money. Nobody can take their franchise away for their sudden lack of support since 2019 so why would anything change? The business plan is working and fan base suffered through 86 years without issue. Motivation to spend doesn’t exist.
If you have a documented reason I’d like to hear it.

This will end up as well as last two Rays castoffs the Red Sox signed, Carl Crawford and David Price.

Agreed. Some really good players have not/do not thrive in that market and i see Snell being one of them.
Frenchredsox
Snell has the “best stuff” but his AAV will be enormous for a pitcher who literally relies on the BP for wins or losses. And tbh power pitching don’t generally age well. There is a subject that rarely gets mentioned concerning FAs is legacy . Toronto has a boatload of cash (apparently) but do they have a beginning of cycle team ? I don’t think so. And Snell maybe interested more on the Cy Young and the Ring than an extra 10 million (ditto for Burnes).
If it’s cash his motivation then he will end up NY or LA…

“Red Sox Said Not To Be In On Rich Hill”
Baseball insider Mark Muckraker of The Chillicothe Ohio Weekly Star (“The Seventh Largest Weekly Newsletter in South Central Ohio”) reported on Instagram that “sources close to team ownership” have told him, in an exclusive interview, that the Red Sox have “little to no interest” in signing free agent Rich Hill to a fifth agreement with the team.
“That ship has probably sailed”, said an anonymous team executive, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the organization’s future plans. “We have his number in our big old Rolodex, and should our plans change, it’s possible that Rich may provide a late season boost to our staff, but, for now, he’s not a priority option for the rotation.”
In a lengthy piece filled with other Red Sox news, Muckraker went on to say that Joey Votto seems an unlikely exchange for Tristan Casas, and that a reunion with popular superstar Andrew Benintendi does not seem to be in the cards.

Red Sox kick tyres on every FA available. In other news, water is still undeniably wet.
The irony is they’ve spoken to Soto, who will want like $50 mil per year and a few years ago they had a really good RF who they could’ve signed for like $33 mil per who is going to the HOF…
Like every other team in MLB, they need good starting pitching(most obvious news of the offseason). Can you get Burnes and Fried for a bit more then what it would cost to get Soto? If yes, then just do that.
Fever Pitch Guy
casual – It’s a trade that can never be defended and a stain that will never be erased, the trade of Mookie Betts by the Red Sox.
They had a homegrown generational 5-tool wildly popular fantastic role model player who proved Boston was a great place for him and wanted to retire with the Red Sox, and Red Sox management treated him like a commodity.
Even if the Sox pull off a miracle and do sign Soto, he will never be a 5-tool player and he will never have the personality and charisma of Mookie and having zero history with the team, if he fails to produce with that huge contract it could get very ugly in Fenway.
Frenchredsox
The irony is Mookie for whatever reasons wanted “out” unless they overpaid substantially. Baseball and owners have an economic threshold and plan and hate to reset market values (except the Dodgers ). Yankees who used to blow up the market under George now follow a plan… less so LA but even Cohen stopped (for a while).
Soto is not a generational player but also a marketable one. His age is too (4 years less than Ohtani) and the Sox are with 4 of the top 25 Prospects plus a nice core of young seasoned players can argue they will be competitive for the length of that contract without destroying the economic plan . In any other AL division they would be guaranteed a playoff place right now – thanks to the ineptitude of the A’s and the White Sox .
acell10
I agree with everything you said except when you said that Soto isn’t a generational player.
Calvin24
I think he meant “not only…”
JoeBrady
I read that as “not only”. It’s the only way the syntax works.
acell10
and I read it as not a generational player but a marketable one so I completely missed the syntax and added a word that wasn’t there. . My mistake
Fever Pitch Guy
French – That narrative about Mookie wanting out has never been supported.
Yes he wanted to make as much as possible, in large part because he’s a union guy who wanted to raise the bar for future star players. To call him greedy would be fair, to call him a liar or anything else negative would be extremely unfair.
Bottom line, $307M for 12 years is already considered a bargain.
tff17
That contract was a bargain when it was signed, should have been closer to $400M. Five years in and he has already come close to earning that $300M (not to mention two rings).
outinleftfield
Soto is not going to get $50 million. Probably something in the $43-44 million range.
If you call $25 million a bit, then yes.
Melchez17
Didn’t the Red Sox trade away a decent lefty starter just a year ago. Now they have their SS Vaughn Grissom.
Sagacity
Melchez17 – Great point. The same guy who paid $17M to ATL to take the Cy Young Winner off their hands is supposed to do a great deal that brings talent to a team who hasn’t acquired an all-star since 2018? hahahahahaha
I’m so glad all fans haven’t forgotten how inept this organization has been since 2019.
Fever Pitch Guy
Sag – While they HAVE acquired some All-Stars since 2018 (Kenley, Story, Kluber, etc), your overall point is still accurate …. they have absolutely failed to acquire elite talent via trade or free agency.
Lots of people buying the usual hype again from Sox management, I will definitely take a wait-and-see approach. I’m fine with missing out on Soto if the price gets to be astronomical, but they definitely need to acquire a top starting pitcher and closer.
ClevelandSteelEngines
If people are buying the hype again, isn’t the front office justified to gaslight us?
Fever Pitch Guy
Cleveland – I don’t believe ignorance justifies a team taking advantage of it’s fanbase.
acell10
yea the same one who missed 3/4 of the time he was under contract for the sox. And while he undoubtedly had a great season he got hurt and again and killed the Braves in the post season.
deweybelongsinthehall
Can’t blame Sale who pitched his butt off. Had the Braves not had other injuries, his workload would have been able to be better managed.
Sagacity
Acell10 – The guy won the Cy Young and you criticize him. Maybe you need to refocus on what makes for a great pitcher and maybe your prejudice dictates your comments not his performance. If you want to continue to be a Sale hater that’s your call.
He should have been a HOF candidate and there is nobody to blame but Cora for mishandling him. 3 other managers have NEVER had an issue but one guy disrupted the prime of his career.
acell10
KD17: Stating his injury history is not a criticism. He was hardly ever healthy during his red sox tenure and thankfully he was healthy this year for the braves but missed the entire post season which hurt the Braves.. These are all facts. Just because you have prejudices against people like Cora and thus you blame him and make excuses for Sale doesn’t mean others have those same prejudices or lay blame/make excuses.
Also Sale hasn’t won the Cy young yet. Good chance he will and he’d earned it but as others have said hindsight is 20/20
Frenchredsox
Hindsight is wonderful , yes they did . But as you know his medical history pointed the likely hood of another injury based season and 2024 the club wasn’t “supposedly “ going to be competitive. The actual reality was, we were till the end of August. But keeping Sale wouldn’t have won the team the WS nor enabled a workable extension .
Fact is the team over performed or , in more optimistic terms, developed quicker than the coaches, fans and analysts predicted .
Trades rarely work out where it’s a win-win. His one helped the Braves until when Sale was REALLY needed AT THE SEASON’S end and in the playoffs as he was injured … again .

Great. I prefer Snell over Burnes or Freid. Strikeout pitcher. Better stuff. Less money. Hope the Sox pull the trigger.
Sagacity
Look if this was Strat-O=Magic I could see speculating about great what-if trades and arguing the merits of guys that could sit at the top of almost any rotation but this is reality.
That’s not in the realm of reality. Unless someone in the ownership does yet another 180 degree reversal of strategy, no big contracts are coming. This is a modern day version of the Oakland Athletics trying to compete for a playoff spot with it’s farm system.
Indianfan
The Red Sox, Yankees, Dodgers and Blue Jays are interested in everybody. When are these stupid owners going to learn you can’t buy the World Series — except the Dodgers. Do they know there’s also a couple of 40-year-old robbers posing as starting pitchers available too?
Frenchredsox
You don’t buy a WS but you do buy pieces that enable you to be competitive. Would the Dodgers have won without Ohtani ? Glasgow ? Mookie’s extension or Yamamoto ?
Ditto for Yankees – their financial muscle enabled them (years ago) to get Stanton or sign Judge.
It’s true money isn’t the only parameter but it’s also a reason that Pirates or Rays haven’t won a WS in the 21st century .
JoeBrady
It’s more correct to say that you cannot buy a WS, but you can buy a playoff spot.
cgallant
Snell’s kind of a b*tch but I’ll take him.
Fever Pitch Guy
Cgall – Just the fact Snell stuck with Boras after last offseason’s fiasco kinda confirms that. But I would take him over Burnes, Fried and Flaherty.
Frenchredsox
Snell, for whatever reasons ( but I would call loyalty one of them after his remarks concerning Boras and Montgomery) has class and loyalty to his agent.Question is – what are his instructions to Boras ?
Get me : “the money” or “to the team that has the best chance for WS/Cy Young “?
Fever Pitch Guy
French – Loyalty resonates with nobody more than it does with me. It goes hand-in-hand with trust as the most important characteristic of a person. Unfortunately I’ve had a couple situations in my life where a lack of loyalty led me to immediately cut ties with that person, I have a zero tolerance policy with regard to it.
That said, Boras has nothing to do with loyalty. Maybe he’s guided players to the wrong team in the past for the purpose of a bigger commission, I wouldn’t know therefore I give him the benefit of the doubt.
But one thing I DO know is Boras failed horribly last offseason, perhaps the worst offseason any high profile agent has ever had.
Snell doesn’t strike me as particularly intelligent. If he was, he wouldn’t stick with someone who gave him such bad advice.
His instructions to Boras should presumably be “With each offer received, let me know if you feel I should accept it or if you think I can do better”. The player dictates where he is willing to play, the agent dictates whether or not the money is worth taking.
william-2
Not to be a downer but just wanted to inject a point about Snell.
There is no doubt that Snell is exceptional, but I don’t like the price tag for a guy that pitches about 5 innings a game due to high pitch counts and walks about 4+ guys per 9. It isn’t like the Sox have the talent in the bullpen over a season to endure yet another guy that nearly never goes deep into games. I know that this is the new normal, but it would certainly be better to pay slightly less or about the same for pitchers that you can at least count on to be able to go deeper in far more outings with comparable results and hopefully shave a couple innings off the pen per 5 days.
Factor in the fact that his dominant stuff is the reason he gets away with walking so many guys, and I wonder on a long-term contract, about the effect of him losing any of his stuff or velocity and no longer being able to get away with it anymore. The one thing he has shown is that his control issues have never really improved over the course of 9 years to date.
If we land him, great. He is better than anyone we have. I just don’t know if signing him to a long-term contract is the wisest course, especially with the bleak middle relief core and not knowing what the end relief group will even consist of. On paper the pen is worse now than last year and was one of our weaknesses last year.
I believe we need two starters. Two starters that are arguably better than anyone we currently have to really be competitive. Two starters to push two of our starters into the pen, and in turn push two pitchers that shouldn’t be on the staff out entirely into depth roles. I would simply prefer whether through trade or signing for it to be starters we can count on to go 6 or 7 innings in most of their outings.
That equates to about 4 innings every 5 games for just the 1 and 2 pitchers where we aren’t using relievers if it pans out. Over the course of a year that would mean saving the exposure of the weak underbelly of the relief core that many more times. If we get that kind of length from any of the 3,4, and 5’s the knock along is that much more of a bonus to our pen over the year. We all have seen over the last few years what getting 5 innings or so a night from starters does to a weak bullpen, and how that weak bullpen breaks down further and further over the course of the year. Factor in the dirth of pitching talent in the minors. There is very little help on the way when the pen breaks down.
Sagacity
William-2 = All great points but do you really see this as an issue or just a fun conjecture for a group of fans who have been nearly stripped of stars by the actions of the last two GMs?
Snell isn’t coming any more than the other top pitchers. The owners have no incentive to spend the money or should I restate that – The owners have no reason to lower their profits for a fan base who still thinks the 4 championships in 15 years was so good after nothing happened in 86 years that they are not upset that the Championship Team was torn down over four years and the team hasn’t been competitive for half a decade.
I’d give anything to have your comments be relative to the 2025 team but they simply aren’t. We should be focusing on guys like Wilson, players who will fill roster spots at the right price.

The issue of whether we land anyone at all or get all of them isn’t the main thrust for me. I do not have control of anything, or a say in it. I am just talking about the perceived financial constraints due to the cap, and where we currently stand with problem issues and finances.
There are clear cut ways of dealing with issues you know to be there for the team, and I just wonder about their thinking when it comes to how to build a staff, or roster. Snell is an upgrade. Is he the right upgrade out of the options out there?
Is a 5-inning pitcher for x dollars rated as a Hypothetical 96 out of 100 more valuable to a team with a bad bullpen than a pitcher that goes 7 innings for comparable dollars that is rated a hypothetical 92 out of 100? If both are 1a, 1b type starters you have to factor that in. If I had a deep and great bullpen I may lean Snell. If I am the Red Sox I have to factor in how many great starts I am risking being wiped out by the slobs I throw on the mound for the 6th and 7th innings.

The owners have no incentive to spend the money…

Then there really isn’t much point in signing into MLB-R to conjecture about things that will never happen, I’d rather discuss the players that the fans are hoping to get than to completely ignore the off-season.

I comment in flurry’s when I have the time, but mostly, I find MLB rumors near useless for anything other than breaking news of what actually happened, not what they think will happen.
I enter the site in case there is news, not because several thousand people are conjecturing over a poster asking if Glasser and Westbrook sounds like a good trade for Mike Trout.

I’m just looking at 2024,but most of Snell’s s short outings were early, likely as a result of no spring training. Snell had 14 starts after 6/2, and he averaged 5.74 IPs/GS. And only 2 of the 14 starts were less than 5 innings.
Not ideal, but I would take that.
william-2
I would take that in a heartbeat with a solid pen with a strong middle relief. The Red Sox do not have that, and as it stands, we do not even know what the late game relief will be. It makes a huge difference when you can be trotting out 4 or 5 guys a week that are 5 to 6 inning pitchers.
acell10
Joe: that’s true but his short outings predates last year. I could be wrong but I think I remember hearing that he had the lowest innings pitcher per game out of any cy young winner in 2023.

In other news, water is wet.

Red Sox are NOT going to sign Blake Snell under any circumstance.
They’ll look more for a value guy and not a high-priced headliner.
Then they’ll probably go trade route for the second starting pitcher to throw in the rotation. Sox have way too many outfielders and middle infielders, when you consider there’s a few guys ready to step up from AAA.

I’m interested in winning the Powerball jackpot.

Red Sox public relations office should all get large raises after this off-season. They are working hard to convince everyone that the Sox are “in” on practically all of the free agent class.
i’ll believe it when Henry, Breslow et al put the highest dollar figure on an offer sheet and the player signs it, because until then, its all smoke and mirrors

We have been in on everyone for the past 4 years according to every media outlet.
Just helping the Red Sox rumor mill sports writers, a second.
Taking a look. Just kicking the tires. Taking a gander. Checking under the hood. Showing interest. Doing due diligence. Asking around. Sending out feelers. Having talks. Putting out contacts. Sending calls out. Preliminary discussions.
Pick any combos for your three or four Red Sox rumors per day and mix them up as needed.

And in other news, I am interested in dating Sydney Sweeney. I DM’ed her my phone number, I’m sure she’ll be in touch to start making plans any time now.
william-2
Headline. DirtyWater04 showed interest in Sydney Sweeney, but in the end decided it wasn’t the right fit for himself when her demands were felt to not fit in with his short- and long-term goals.
Well done buddy. You cracked me up. If this isn’t the best example of Red Sox off season rumor milling, I don’t know what is.

Please not that guy! He’s too inconsistent for the amount of money he will get.

Here we go again, REDSOX “intersted in”….REDSOX “in on” REDSOX “talking to” REDSOX “rumored to be…PUT UP or SHUT UP. This is soooo tiring.

Have to appease the masses. In on everybody, just window shopping to make it seem like Bosox were FA players n just came up short. Lil skit buys sum good faith w/beantowners. Nothing rallys fan base like “We tried are darndest… so come on out n support our mediocrity.” As they raise ticket prices cause the Lucas Giolito’s in this world don’t come cheap.

Snell is an inconsistent, injury prone 5 inning pitcher. Truly hope we spend money on someone else
