This one belongs to the Reds
If the Reds somehow grab Sasaki with their bonus money, I would laugh like hell. But the odds are about like a snowball’s chance there.

I thought to myself have the Reds ever had a Japanese player in their entire history so I looked it up. Shogo Akiyama played with the Reds for 2 seasons. I gotta say I don’t remember that at all lol.

Aside from the lower appeal of a small market, that ballpark is one of the worst for a pitcher that wants to showcase his skills for a future big contract.
If he was a position player, the Reds might actually have a small chance.
JoeBrady
Probably a -0- chance, but adding Tito and Roki would give the Reds a shot at the divisional title. I’d be nauseous if the RS had to face him and Greene B2B. That would give Roki a heck of a lot of bragging rights in Japan.

I always said if I ran that team, I would get every ground ball specialist in the league on my pitching staff. Fly balls no good in that ballpark. That probably killed Greene’s development more than anything else outside of pitch efficiency early on.

Greene is looking good. It is a tough ballpark for sure but Greene will figure it all out here soon.

Gray will move for the right team. It’s not likely to happen before the trade deadline. The Cardinals will get nothing and have to send some cash
The Convoluted Universe
I agree with Darragh over Anthony, it’s not that Sasaki has tipped his hand, it’s that the Dodgers have a perfect situation for him. Two of his team Japan buddies, and the Dodgers will be running a 6 man rotation, every other MLB team has 5 man rotations. Padres are nice a dark horse but Yu is closer to retirement than Ohtani and Yamamoto

That’s could play into things though, depending on what Sasaki wants. If he wants to be the top dog and make a name for himself instead of playing 3rd fiddle, he could go to the Pads.

Alternatively, some team could go sign Fujinami and stick him on their taxi squad so Roki has a buddy and you have an ace!
The Saber-toothed Superfife
It will boil down to the simple pride in just being a Tiger!
