Our free agent prediction contest leaderboard is now available! Three of MLBTR’s top 50 free agents have signed: Nick Martinez, Yusei Kikuchi, and Blake Snell. Over 4,300 people entered the contest, and six have jumped out to an early lead by guessing all three pitchers’ destinations correctly.
If you’re looking for the leaderboard later, it can be found under the Tools menu for desktop users and under the Flame menu for mobile web users.
To the 3,241 people ahead of me, I’m coming for you.
Hi Slider. For the inappropriate comment, I’ve gone ahead and DQ’d you from the contest. Good luck next year.
Hypothetical situation. Let’s say you forgot your name. Is there another way to find out how you are doing?
Never mind i found it lol
I would think in that unfortunate event, you would have far greater things to worry about then how you’re doing in a contest.
I would have suggested to start at Dumb@$$ and scroll from there.
1 championship in the last 116 years
#cubsforlife
Quick fact, in that 116 years I have never forgotten my own name.
Thanks again for passing on all that rent you can be collecting from the Cubs for living in your head.
Dude its not 2016 anymore the Cubs are back to being in absolutely nobody’s mind.
Ask Joe
3 FA off the board, 3 correct guesses. 3 over achievers.
Tied for 328th place!
Me too!
Hey, 1 for 3 not bad! Could’ve sworn I was 0 for 3, so I’m already feeling good!
@Acoss1331
Looking pretty good for you. ChiSox making history, busy offseason for them so far and you’re already 1 for 3 in the contest. Life is looking great for you, right now!
Old York,
Thank you for making me feel better about the White Sox lol
Full throttle for the White Sox next season! The AL is on notice!
@Acoss1331
Definitely no time to punch down on the ChiSox.
Last year at one point I was something like 1-for-12. I like the way this year is going so far.
On one of the podcast episodes, they mentioned how many teams the first place finishers in previous years got right. Does anyone remember that number? I want to say it was in the teens?
I want to say it was 13
Around 13
Just pick the Dodgers for the top 30 FA’s.
Even as a Dodger fan most of my life, enough already, I want to see the young guys develop. I don’t give a d amn about Snell.
You mean all of the young pitchers who can’t stay off of the DL?
yeah. Most of whom are scheduled to return this year including Gonsolin, May, et. al.
Hey, the Dodgers will be the first to have the 10-man starting rotation. Might as well
May hasn’t pitched 60 innings in a season and Gonsolin turns 31 in May.
Gonsolin isn’t “developing”
May is always scheduled to return, and then that tricky third start eventually happens…
I see several first names with no last names, just an initial. Shouldn’t they be disqualified?
“We’re going to use entrants’ full names on it. So, if that concerns you, please do not enter the contest. Entries with inappropriate names will be deleted.”
@Fever Pitch Gu
What if your last name is just a letter?
York – Next year mine will be ;o)
@Fever Pitch Guy
I guess depends on what they mean. Technically, there was no definition of what a full name is and then later they end the sentence and make another statement about “inappropriate names” being deleted. Does that mean John K is appropriate but C Moore Butts is inappropriate? I don’t think they clearly laid out the rules in a clear manner and don’t think that would hold up in court.
York – I’ll check with Judge Judy for you.
@Fever Pitch Guy
Not going to check with the ACTUAL Judge? That is Aaron Judge?
@Old York: I noticed that Ignorant SOB has 2 correct picks. Guess “they” don’t care too much about “inappropriate names.”
@NashvilleJeff
That’s funny! I didn’t notice that.
York – Real judges sometimes drop charges, the only thing Aaron is likely to drop is baseballs.
Jeff – I’m rooting for SOB. He’s a good guy, and I’d love to see Tim announce his name as the winner. Lol
* Arson Judge
Tied for 7th place!
Wow, really shows you how slow the baseball offseason is to develop despite MLB’s attempts to speed it up. Only 3 people of the Top 50 have signed.
Can’t even blame Boras this time 2 if them are his clients.
True, Snell signing this early and any player accepting a QO are both unexpected surprises. Kikuchi sighing this early is the only one that somewhat makes sense.
What has MLB attempted to speed up the offseason? And why does it matter?
Who cares? It’s more interesting if it take weeks or months
I don’t even like winning anymore, and when I try to lose by picking random places, I still win. Ugh, frustrating.
Anyone else looking at a bunch of unsigned players and thinking “What the hell was I thinking?”
Wow, a lot of pages of “0”. I thought – like a lot of people – Nick Martinez was a a lock for accepting the QO for an easy “1”.
Snell messed up other picks as LAD won’t likely sign the other 2 SP’s thst I had them down for.
Yes, but can we just assume that even so, MLBTR will mention “The Dodgers Are Interested….” tag line for every notable FA?
You aren’t wrong but seems like it’s a universal theme on the internet – not just MLBTR.
Might add Yankees as well.
Stop the contest, I’ve got 2 of 3. It’s all downhill from here.
I’m tied for 328th place
HOW CAN anyone of us expect to pick accurately??????
ALL of those GMs curently running/ruining teams are IDIOTS compared to all of us!
It is very difficult for geniuses to predict what an idiot will do! The Superfife never stood a chance……
I got three on my best year.
