A Mets and Yankees world series is the worst possible outcome for the game this year. I know there are a lot of haters of the Mets, Yankees and Dodgers, but a NY subway series will alienate most baseball fans.
Who else will not watch that?
Chicken In Philly?
The dollars discussed for a few vets in this chat seem like overpays. Iglesias isn’t going to land a deal for more than $3.5 million, and why on earth would a team go two years with Kepler? He’s a one year, 6-7 million guy that you hope puts it together (but will not).
Chicken In Philly?
Why? It historically hasn’t, and there are 32 MLB teams, all who had the same opportunities as these two clubs. If anything, their fanbases alone will provide super high tv ratings.

“Will alienate most baseball fans” lol. You’re drastically overestimating the proportion of baseball fans who are as hopped up on haterade as you are. Just from their own fanbases these teams can draw a competitive audience to a series between two small market teams. And then there’s plenty of fans who just watch the series no matter who is in it and folks who will be interested as fans of the game to see heavyweight stars like judge, soto, ohtani, betts, lindor and alonso in the series. Also if the dodgers make it, interest in the series from Japanese market will be off the chart.

@3:04; I think A’s are thinking they have turned that proverbial corner. Miller stays and as an SP not RP.

I’m pretty sure the money paid by Colorado to St. Louis for Arenado only applies to 2025 and 2026.. It’s not a big deal, but it means the real money owed is 64 million, which is still very moveable.
