“Hypothetical question. A team wins the WS and everyone gets a ring. Does this include players on the IL who missed the playoffs?”
——
Mark’s answer was correct, although probably didn’t hammer home that pretty much anyone who appeared on the MLB roster, even for a single AB, gets a ring.

Rob – More than 500 rings were given for the 2004 championship, including to guys like Brandon Puffer who never played in a game for the Red Sox that season, regular season or postseason… and guys who left midseason like Nomar.

04 Boston title is a little different though after the long drought preceding it

Fever — Yes, I believe the Red Sox in ’04 and then later the Cubs, in ’16, rewarded people system wide. Most teams will award rings to anyone who contributed on the roster. They may even award them to everyone on the 40-man, even if they didn’t appear on the big league roster.

I have a friend who was a part-time local scout for the Red Sox. He pinged a high school player whom they eventually signed, and my friend got a ring.

Carl Edwards Jr got a ring from the Braves in 2021 for his one and a third innings…..

Donovan on StL is a nice player, but hes not bringing back “big time prospects” in a trade like the person said

Every fan overvalues their team’s players and prospects. The best ones are along the lines of “this player absolutely sucks, lets trade him for a haul”.

8:43 On Wheeler being pulled in game 1. Let’s get back to real commonsense BASEBALL PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
Someone would probably be saying the same thing had Mendoza taken Severino out of the game so he wouldn’t be facing Harper and Castellanos for the 3rd time.

I don’t see Skubal signing an extension. I see him being traded in July, 2026 as a rental because I don’t see the Tigers paying $400 million-ish to retain him. I just feel there has to be an overwhelming need and I don’t see the Tigers being needy for pitchers in the coming years. I would love to see him stay, but the economic realities are probably gonna force the Tigers to let him go.
