Unless Clase is hurt, he can’t grip the ball in this football weather. Most players from Latin America and the Caribbean have trouble playing in weather they’ve not experienced in their lives.
The summer game that fans watch is not what they see in the October to November expanded playoffs. If their team is out of the playoffs the majority move onto the NFL or talking about the upcoming NBA season. TV attendance figures for the MLB playoffs haven’t kept up with the growth in population the past 3-4 decades. It’s not been a national sport for over 35 years now.
I like the Guardians, but haven’t watched a game of theirs this post season – even on replay. Would be like watching NFL players having to wear ice skates in their playoffs.
