On the MLB Trade Rumors podcast, we regularly answer questions from our readers and listeners. With the next episode set for Wednesday, we’re looking for MLBTR’s audience to submit their questions and we’ll pick a few to answer.
The 2024 season is now into June, which means we are less than two months away from the trade deadline. If you have a question about the ongoing 2024 season, a future transaction, a look ahead to the offseason, or anything else baseball related, we’d love to hear from you! You can email your questions to mlbtrpod@gmail.com.
Also, if you want to hear your voice on the podcast, send us your question in audio form and we might play it. iPhone users can find instructions on how to do so here.

I don’t believe in this hope that the Mets are given us, so I’m probably in the minority here in saying that we need to start trading quite a few of our players.
#1) I think with the Cubs and Mariners needing a power hitting 1b. let’s see if we can get Busch and Morel from the Cubs or a young SP from the Mariners for Alonso. #2) Also with the Dodgers losing some of their pitchers ( Yamamoto and Grove) plus Betts maybe the Mets should call them to gauge their interest in (Quintana/Severino/Manaea) plus McNeil.
#3) Bader, Marte, Ottavino, Drew Smith even ( Baty can go if we can get something good in return).

Busch and Morel for two months of Alonso? Dream on.

Busch has gone down the tubes after a hot start. In his last 156 PAs, he has a 56/19 K/W with 2 HRs. Morel is a mediocre+ hitter, but fielding deficiencies. The Mets are likely uninterested in both.

It is most wonderful time of the year. Time for fans to think “my team’s rental is worth top prospects or trade for highly valuable players for bunch of players we do not want.”
