Yankees should sign Jose Abreu to a minor league deal. The fans reaction would be interesting.
LordD99
The fact that the Yankees were never even tied to him suggests that their analytics and scounts confirm Abreu is cooked. No way the Astros and Crane would have cut him if they thought there was any chance he could come back. He’s done.

1:34; agree. Enjoy Henderson while you can. The man is eventually big market team bound.
LordD99
He’s Boras’ new A-Rod and Soto. A young superstar who can hit the market still in his 20s. He’s a tentpole player for Boras, the sport, and whatever teams signs him. I certainly see the O’s and Rubenstein going in big. They’re not a poor team, no matter how Angelos tried to run them, but it won’t be enough to prevent him from testing free agency.

I don’t see how the Angels dig out of their hole. No one is taking Rendon’s contract of our hands. I’m not a fan of seeking a trade of Trout but we would still have to eat a lot of his contract if he agreed to it. And our farm is the worst in baseball. We are years away if Moreno sells the team now. If he keeps the team, he will continue down this path of mediocrity.
Bucket Number Six
It’s not mediocrity, it’s crapternity!

Angels need a 2-3 yr plan. They have money under the tax to be a dumping ground. Collect assets in exchange for taking on bad short term contracts. They have about $40+ MM in available money. If they plan on spending next year in FA, then the question asks why didn’t they compete for contracts/players/assets this year via trade, salary dump etc. If they sit out FA next offseason, then one asks, why aren’t they selling off, and when do they plan on getting better? Are their players rising around the same time? Their org, scouting, coaching, FO, has been a mess. They need stewardship and a solid foundation.

FYI sorry for the grammar and spelling errors in that comment. I didn’t proofread.

My favorite pastime…coming to MLBTR to watch the boomers argue in the comments.
Unclemike1525
You see an argument here somewhere? You see little green men too?

Flaherty is going to have an extremely high cost because of the fact that he can be issued a qualifying offer by whoever signs him. Barring an implosion, he will reject it and the team that signs him will get a draft pick to replace the prospect they sent to acquire him. So, as Steve said, that’s going to eliminate any team that isn’t willing and able to make the QO.

If someone asked the same unanswerable question 4 times in a chat with that sarcastic username, there’s no way I’d answer.

I’d love Skubal to go to Baltimore and they move Holiday and others. They have the pieces. Eat some of Baez contract, allowing Detroit to reset, as Baltimore has room to make it happen
Bjoe
Baltimore is NOT moving Holliday.
