The Tigers announced this afternoon that they’ve placed right-hander Kenta Maeda on the 15-day injured list with a viral illness. Outfield Akil Baddoo was recalled from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move, though Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports that right-hander Matt Manning is set to be called up to the majors on Monday to take Maeda’s spot in the rotation.
The start to Maeda’s tenure in Detroit has been a difficult one, as he’s posted a 6.75 ERA in 30 2/3 innings of work across seven starts with the club this season. Of those seven starts, the majority of the damage has come in just three of them where the veteran was tagged for a combined 19 runs (18 earned) in just eight total innings of work. Now he’ll get the opportunity to rest up and reset on the injured list while he prepares to try and turn his season around. Maeda’s placement on the shelf is retroactive to May 8, meaning he could hypothetically return to action in less than two weeks. That being said, no timetable for his return has been made available.
Per Petzold, Manning is poised to take the ball against the Marlins on Monday, stepping into Maeda’s usual spot in the rotation. The right-hander was the Tigers’ first-round pick back in 2016 and has logged 48 starts in the majors since he first made his big league debut back in 2021. He struggled to a 5.80 ERA in his rookie season but as looked to be a solid back-of-the-rotation arm when healthy since then, with a 3.59 ERA (117 ERA+) and 4.40 FIP in 158 innings of work since then. That includes three starts in the majors this year, during which he’s posted a roughly league average 4.24 ERA with a 23.9% strikeout rate despite a somewhat lackluster 4.40 FIP. He’ll be returning to a rotation that’s gotten incredible performances from its young arms this season. Tarik Skubal’s 1.90 ERA and 2.07 FIP have placed him firmly in the AL Cy Young award conversation through seven starts, while both Casey Mize and Reese Olsen have also impressed to this point in the year with above-average numbers.
Replacing Maeda on the roster for the time being is Baddoo. The 25-year-old had a breakout campaign as a rookie back in 2021 with a .259/.330/.436 slash line in 124 games but has generally struggled at the big league level since then, hitting just .213/.302/.331 in 582 trips to the plate since the start of the 2022 campaign. Baddoo has spent the entire 2024 campaign to this point at the Triple-A level after being squeezed out of the club’s outfield mix by the addition of Mark Canha as well as the emergence of youngsters like Kerry Carpenter, and Riley Greene.
Baddoo has generally been very successful in the minor leagues this year, slashing .257/.366/.478 in 30 games with the club’s affiliate in Toledo. If Baddoo can carry that success forward at the big league level, it’s possible he could force his way back into the club’s outfield mix, where Opening Day center fielder Parker Meadows struggled badly to open the season, opening the door for rookie switch-hitter Wenceel Perez to take over up the middle in recent weeks.
rememberthecoop
Sounds like they made up an illness for Maeda in order to give him time to reset and they wanted him out of the rotation for now. Sometimes this is the only way..
tigerfan4ever
Proof please that the Tigers made up an illness, Dr. rememberthecoop. You’d feel really foolish if you’re wrong. He probably got his illness from Canha.
TheOrangeShuckle
Yeah, Perez and Canha both had a viral illness I believe. Maeda easily could’ve gotten it from one of them.
JrodFunk5
Yet neither was put on the IL 😉
TheOrangeShuckle
Sure, but illnesses can impact people differently. And it is possible the Maeda IL placement is a rest thing. I’m not arguing that, just saying he easily could have gotten from somebody else and it is just having a larger impact on him.
User 3997712419
No one will know if Maeda was put on the IL for a real illness or not (looked like he needed a rest based on his stats) but just because Canha wasn’t placed on the IL it doesn’t mean Maeda isn’t feeling it more. Breaking news: illnesses and injuries are not all the same for different people. Bad argument.
TheOrangeShuckle
KC-123, yeah not a great argument, but it’s not a huge deal.
User 3997712419
Have you seen the comments from Greenberg below? It is a huge, life-altering deal for them!
tigerdoc616
Thank you. There are rules to the IL and teams cannot make up illnesses or injuries. There are serious penalties if teams do that.
tigerdoc616
Should change your name to rememberthenincompoop.
tigerfan4ever
It seems like there are more and more nincompoops (no I don’t want to remember)invading the comment section lately. If only there was a true moderator that can weed out these know nothing idiots.
detroitdave84
I definitely think it’s the case. I am hoping he becomes a long reliever in blowout games because he can’t be trusted. However, if they don’t start hitting, the season will end up frustrating is all at 84-78
Motor City Beach Bum
Glad to see Baddoo back up but his chances are starting to run out. Hope he can recapture his 2021 form, but I think at bats will be hard to come by.
A recent poll from execs listed Bregman, Verlander and Arozarena as potential trade bait this year. I wonder if the Tigers could get a deal right now on any or all of them, with their lack of performance so far. A change of scenery could be just the ticket. It would be awesome to see Verlander finish his career in the Olde english D where he belongs, and he discussed it recently in an interview. Bregman could fill 3B for a few years if things went well and they signed him to a FA contract in the offseason and Arozarena would be fun to watch (like Baddoo in 2021) and is a playoff performer.
Blackpink in the area
The Tigers have needs but not really at 3b or corner outfield or even starting pitcher.
The Cardinals will be selling it appears. Tommy Edman doesn’t quite fit with the team once Saggese and Scott are ready which will probably be around the trade deadline. Wouldn’t take much to get Edman. He can play 2b, ss and center which would be a great fit for the Tigers.
Motor City Beach Bum
I like Edman. The Tigers have 2B covered with Keith and Ibanez and CF with Greene, Perez and Vierling until Meadows figures things out. SS is a black hole though with Baez so Edman would be an upgrade for sure.
I’d take Verlander over Maeda and Manning. 3B is a patchwork quilt, albeit with decent results so far, while they wait on Jung. Bregman’s having a bad year but he is an upgrade if they are close to contending. Arozarena would be a nice add, but like you say more of a luxury with their OF producing, and he is not hitting well right now. I don’t expect them to go after any of those players but one can dream.
Druuu
Hmmm you mean a SS like Adames and a 3B like Paredes?
Blackpink in the area
Perhaps both Edman and Moncada would make sense. Moncada makes too much but I imagine the White Sox could pay some of his salary. Edman doesn’t make much. I think the Cardinals would want thst comp pick Detroit had. I believe that for Edman is about right.
hitztheball
We did Price for Adames so can’t blame them for that one
tigerdoc616
None of that is happening. Tigers are not in a position to trade away any prospects for a rental like Bregman. Tigers are also pretty set with pitching so really no sense in reuniting with Verlander who also has a player option for 2025. The only one that makes some sense is Arozarena who has two more seasons of control before free agency. But to date Harris has not shown the propensity to make such a deal. So doubt he’ll part with the prospects needed to land Arozarena. And despite an off year so far, the Cardinals might not be willing to deal him.
And that is just it, going off of a poll of execs which isn’t all that great of a source, especially since the Astros GM has said he isn’t planning on selling at this point or at the deadline.
Motor City Beach Bum
Every GM says they are not selling. Verlander is an upgrade over Maeda or Manning and is a draw for ticket sales all by himself. If they are interested in Bregman as a FA 3B and veteran presence this could be a test drive and given his crap year so far they could get him at a reduced price (same logic for Arozarena). I don’t see them going out and getting any of those players. Would I be happy if they did, Yup. Right at this moment though pitching, 3B and OF are being covered pretty well by the players there. By the deadline that could change.
Motor City Beach Bum
I’m good if they bring Jung up, but veteran players are what you go get for a playoff push.
WestVillageTiger
Jung currently has a 35% strikeout rate at Toledo. Not something you want to carry with you to the majors. Greene’s strikeout rate has soared to 33% from 25% when he started his current slugging surge. The Tigers have some really fundamental problems that the local press isn’t really noticing.
hitztheball
Yes, putting the ball in play can put pressure on the defense, but with a runner on 1st would rather have a strike out than a roll over ground ball to second
ThonolansGhost
Greene’s strikeout rate has actually dropped this year, down to less than 27%.
WestVillageTiger
Greene’s strikeout rate had dropped to below 25% in April but has been climbing wildly with the recent power surge. I was shocked when I looked it up after Friday’s loss.
Motor City Beach Bum
I think all the walks, homers and great defense have leveled it out for Greene and still make him the most valuable player on the team but I was srprised to see how far up the list he was for strikeouts too. I wonder if he was trying too hard when they had him in the middle of the order? I see he was back at leadoff the other day.
Greenberg
He also has a 400 obp and 27rbis. If he could be anywhere close to that in Detroit, it’s a big upgrade – 35% k rate or not.
Blackpink in the area
Hey moron if you don’t want to have a discussion then don’t. No reason to be a tool.
Did the Astros take on all of Verlanders contract when he was traded last year? They sure didn’t champ……
Motor City Beach Bum
So are you also a “lover fanboy” then Colavito? Sounds like we could apply your rationale there.
Motor City Beach Bum
Loser fanboy
tigerfan4ever
Baddoo’s at bats were so hard to come by, he got optioned back to Toledo when Urshela was activated.
MPrck
Wow, the big story though is the signing of Mark Canha. That was a grand slam by Harris as Canha’s was tonight in Detroit. Without Canha, the season would have been lost, the season would have been lost. I don;t know how the Tigers can let Canha leave next year. The Tigers may have swung and missed with Kenta, but they equaled it out with Canha.
Keeping Canha would also provide some protection for first base in case Tork is deemed not the first baseman of the future. Being at .500 at the old Sparky mark of 40 games is better than last year, and they are playing close games. The team is young hitting wise, but boy Harris signing of Canha has been huge. Maeda is not totally busted if he can pitch like his good outings he’ll be serviceable, and at his age may have to go into the bullpen in these next two seasons as well. That three batter rule could hurt, but hey. .
dkhits20
Don’t forget about Flaherty. I didn’t get it at the time, especially at $14 million, but he’s definitely earning his keep lately.
MPrck
Yes you and MCBB both highlighted Flaherty, and he’s been fantastic, but we all believe he’s looking for a big long term deal so that’s why I didn’t mention him. Still he may enjoy it in Detroit, and he could decide to stay here too.
I hoping Jobe is the teams next Verlander, but the Tigers may make a good offer to Flaherty too. I don’t worry about the Tigers owner being hesitant to sigh players for big money, I think Harris is doing a good job. The Tigers do have two Boras pitchers so they may very well decide to go for Flahrety. Fun game in Detroit tonight.
tigerfan4ever
@MPrck – I think the next Verlander is Skubal. Jobe could be Tarik’s Max Scherzer.
MPrck
Well he could be, but he is a Boras man, so with him who knows ?
tigerfan4ever
Oh heck, I forgot about that! One can hope, though.
Greenberg
I think you’re getting a little ahead of yourself. Cy young’s and mvps don’t grow on trees.
tigerfan4ever
@Greenberg – more like you’re a little behind everyone else. Go back to your lovefest with Colavito and STYMEEDONE and leave the discussion to us who know what we’re talking about mmmmkay?
Motor City Beach Bum
Canha and Flaherty were both awesome adds as you guys say. Canha’s power is surprising. Maeda was really good in the second half last year.
warnbeeb
I think the Tigers should seriously think about trading Torkelson. I am convinced more and more, he isn’t going to make it. Gotta move him before it really sinks in. If he ends the year hitting like this….and I’m conceding he can still hit 6-8 HRs. Nobody will offer much for him.
What does a mediocre glove at 1B who hits .220, 6 HRs., 40 RBIs and 22 doubles get you? Not much.
Motor City Beach Bum
He’s on pace for about 50-60 doubles but so far that is the only positive I see. The power seems to have evaporated. I wonder if he’s nursing an injury.
Blackpink in the area
I suggested this trade a week or so ago
Torkelson
Comp pick I believe it’s pick 72
For
Tommy Edman
Ivan Herrera
Paul Goldschmidt
Now both Torkelson and Goldschmidt haven’t been good so that needs to change at least a little. Contreras is out for the next couple months so Herrera is playing everyday at the moment. He’s the real prize in the deal. The Cardinals could kick some money in to cover Goldschmidts contract.
As a Cardinal fan I really don’t know about Torkelson. But the Cardinals don’t need Herrera or Edman moving forward and they do need a 1b. And they could use the draft pick.
Motor City Beach Bum
Personally I think that is a great trade for the here and now for Detroit, with some real potential for the future in Herrera. Edman isn’t that old either.
Blackpink in the area
Yeah Herrera could partner with Rodgers and then it could be Herrera and Dingler in a couple years. Goldschmidt might be washed up but it’s not like Torkelson is doing much. And Edman can cover a lot of positions. As a Cardinal fan I would do it for the hope Torkelson figured it out.
Motor City Beach Bum
I haven’t lost faith in Tork. But I have to say the thought of plugging Edman in at short and banishing Baez to the bench is a dream come true.
Blackpink in the area
Edman is great because he can play so many positions and play them pretty well. If someone gets hurt you plug Edman in and problem solved. It’s not that the Cardinals don’t like Edman but with Scott and Saggese coming they don’t need him anymore. And Herrera deserves a shot to play more often. The Cardinals are loaded with catchers. Herrera is having a problem throwing runners out but he can hit.
moteus
Yeah, but unfortunately, Baez is making WAAAAAY too much money for that to happen. Like I said: unfortunately..
Motor City Beach Bum
Maybe the embarrassment of being kicked to the bench would jump start him? If he could even be decent that would be good enough.
warnbeeb
I doubt Dingler becomes anything other than a ML backup. He won’t even be as good as Rogers, who is < average.
Motor City Beach Bum
Tork must have heard us talking. Hit his first Homer, but well after the bullpen put the whole game out of reach. When Lange is bad, he is just bad. Uggghhh.
Blackpink in the area
Goldschmidt hit one too lol
warnbeeb
Yeah, he hit that dinger in the bottom of the 9th, trailing 9-1 with the Astros trying to get to the airport ASAP. The pitcher was just tossing batting practice at that point.
Trojan Toss
Crazy how fast they have already moved on from Miggy.
tigerfan4ever
Miggy retired. The Tigers didn’t “move on” from him. Crazy how fast you didn’t make that distinction!
stymeedone
How so? They still don’t have much of an offense. The payroll went down. Maybe they could apply the savings to locking up Skubal, Mize, and Greene.
Greenberg
Why would you lock up injury prone players who haven’t even made an all star team yet?
Tigers3232
All Star Games are fan votes, not a measure of performance. So not surehpw it is relevant to locking up young talent. I will say it carries some value for large contract free agents. Fan voting is one way to gage name recognition and large free agent contracts are just as much about generating revenue as they are performance.
Skubal and Greene have missed a little time here and there. Nothing that should deter trying to lock them up. As for Mize, that’s a different story. Many scouts, analysts, and even Pedro have cautioned of his delivery and the risk of injury. Even after TJS his delivery has been barely corrected.
GB2
Madea goes on the IL
tigerfan4ever
Who is Madea?
tigerfan4ever
@GB2 – Who is Madea?
stymeedone
Tyler Perry in a Motorcity Tigers uniform.

So STYMEEDONE now thinks he’s a comedian? Even his so called sense of humor falls short. Well at least he’s consistently stupid!
WestVillageTiger
Those unis belong on a soccer field, a golf course, a tennis court or in the boss’ office on one of the few Casual Fridays that he manages to come in. But not on a baseball diamond…
tigerfan4ever
I’m not a big fan of any alternate unis. All they are is a big old cash grab.
Greenberg
Madea goes to jail is the movie you’re referencing:)
Melchez17
Maeda was signed so the Tigers could get into the Asian market. At least that was a story.
Motor City Beach Bum
He had a really solid second half to the season as well.
stash
Trade Kenta Maeda with Baddoo for Verlander!
Motor City Beach Bum
Maeda had a good second half last year so lets hope he does the same this year. I like Brieske as a starter too. Manning is just so fragile and not consistent.
They should clone Kirk Gibson. That would solve the Tigers offensive problems. By far my favorite Tiger ever.
warnbeeb
Considering what the Cubs were able to sign Imanaga for, the Tigers really missed a chance there.
Motor City Beach Bum
I was hoping they would have taken a run at him too but the way things played out I think Mize or Olson would have been shipped to AAA because after spring training they had Maeda and Flaherty signed so early. Imanaga has looked great so far.
tigerfan4ever
Who could’ve guessed that Imanaga would’ve been this great? Hindsight is 20/20.
Motor City Beach Bum
Also “worn out slop chucker wonderboy” is your best insult yet 😉
Steinbrenner2728
Bold of you to say “Kalifornia yuppies” when Tigers players Alan Trammell, Joel Zumaya, Dan Petry, Prince Fielder, Cecil Fielder, Harry Heilmann, Daryl Patterson, Marv Owen, Doug Fister, Marty Castillo, Matt Nokes, Eric King, and Darrell Evans are from California, Colavito…
Motor City Beach Bum
Colavito…your insults are also anonymous and behind the keyboard. Why would you see him in public and how would you know who he is?
Tigers3232
Let’s see Colavito last played in DET on 1963. So you re at youngest late 60’s to early 70’s. And here you are trying to threaten others as tho you could inflict harm without blowing out a hip.
Easy on the Metamucil….
tigerfan4ever
Colavito, you’re just showing your ignorance by making threats against me, for telling the truth about you. You’re a true pathetic idiot behind a keyboard. I call you out and you get mad. So what. I’m not afraid of a cowardice bully like you. You can’t do anything to me and you know it. It just makes you feel like a man when the rest of the world sees you as a mouse.
tigerfan4ever
@MCBB – no use in trying to talk sense or logic with Colavito. He shows his ignorance the more he types. Disagree with him and he calls the person a moron when he’s the true moron. If there were moderators actually involved in the comment section of MLBTR, he’d have been banned permanently from the site. People like him, Greenberg and STYMEEDONE are on here just to get under our skin and never make a productive post. It’s fruitless to try to combat the as the more we do, the worse they get. Colavito believes that my opinion is such that would draw physical violence upon myself irl but what he doesn’t get and is too stupid to understand is nobody would talk as abrasive to anyone in society and his soup through a straw retaliation would end the attacker in jail for assault and battery or attempted murder. But he doesn’t live in the real world and I have pity on him if he thinks that he does. Being that he could never know exactly who I am, if he exacts revenge on somebody who he thinks is me. He truly is that stupid and I hope he enjoys the three hots and a cot for removing that individual’s teeth.
tigerfan4ever
Gawd Colavito, do you have anything intelligent to say at all or are just going to spew baseless bitterness every comment you make? You’re an embarrassment a joke, you hateful pathetic POS.
tigerfan4ever
Tork is beginning to heat up….watch out!
Motor City Beach Bum
So what you are saying is you are a narcissist. Got it. I just read your posts for the insults because I find narcissists entertaining. Did you stay at a Holiday Inn once too? Don’t pat yourself on the back too hard you’ll hurt your shoulder and we don’t want you to “cry like a squealing called girl” as you put it.
tigerfan4ever
MCBB, narcissists are the best, aren’t they? Well, in their own delusional minds yeah. lol
tigerfan4ever
Talking about yourself again Colavito? How about you get a life separate from Googling and living in your mom’s basement. If you don’t want me to be anywhere near your abusive posts, there’s one clear and obvious solution. Don’t post. You can’t handle the truth about yourself, which is each word everyone posts in your direction. You’re so thin skinned and a classic narcissist that everyone who ever disagrees with you, you call a moron at best. Look in the mirror and see the true actual moron.
Motor City Beach Bum
Ahhh Colavito. I should track your insults. They are very entertaining and original and I enjoy reading your posts where you lose your mind in new and creative ways about Hinch or how you are right and everyone else is wrong. I also don’t begrudge you your opinion even if I don’t agree with it.
How about you stop threatening other posters to the site and just talk baseball, even if you don’t respect anyone else’s opinion? I’m happy that the other posters here can take your comments with a grain of salt, as most do with online posters. I will say I’d be disappointed if you got banned (won’t be from me). I have been a police officer for 30 years and you are acting like a garden variety keyboard bully who doesn’t respect others and some of your comments are outright threatening. How about you keep those threats out of your posts and lets talk baseball instead? I come here to forget about work.
Back to baseball chatting?
tigerfan4ever
MCBB, good luck with that working! He’ll likely call you a moron as usual and tell you that you can pretend to be whatever you want to be. He told me to stop responding to his posts and I told him the simple way to get us to stop is to not make posts for us to respond to.
Full disclosure, I do believe you when you say you’re a police officer. Why should I doubt you? I agree 100% that we need to get back to talking baseball and not have this flame war. I pity him as he obviously doesn’t have a life and I think someone abused him in the past so he thinks it’s an appropriate way to respond to those who don’t agree with him with insults and threats. I too come here to distract myself from the rigors of life. I’m not afraid of him, not one iota, but whatever causes his behavior, I feel sorry for him about and pity him for the inappropriate way he responds.
As per your suggestion, let’s talk baseball! I had a friend ask me what does Hinch, Greenberg and Harris have to do to resolve this anemic offense. There is an article on mlb.com’s Tigers site that talks about Reese Olson’s historic lack of run support. He pitched his best game of his young career and still got a no decision. Instead of 0-4, he should be 4-0. If I were in charge, I’d suggest Chris Ilitch eat Javy’s contract….but then who would take over at SS?
Motor City Beach Bum
The last two ganes were painful. Id be happy if they benched (or cut) Javy and sought out his replacement. I’m hoping they trade pitching for a young SS who is blocked elsewhere. Internally I think they should let Eddys Leonard have a shot at it when he gets back from the injured list. He can’t do much worse.
tigerfan4ever
Trading pitching? I suppose, as long as it’s not Skubal, Olson, Flaherty (yes, I realize he’s a FA next offseason but they need veteran leadership in the rotation) or Jobe. I don’t want to see Manning or Mize go, but the Tigers are extremely deep in starting pitching throughout the organization and can afford to let one or the other go. Also, cut Maeda if he continues on the current trajectory, even though he has a year to go on his contract. I agree about Leonard, he’s probably the best SS that should come up shortly after he’s activated if they don’t trade for one in the meantime, but enough of Baez. He may be above average defensively, but after he fell off the cliff offensively he reminds me of a rich man’s Jose Iglesias (I’d take peak him over Javy). They need punch offensively. When Tork is their hottest hitter (hitting in 9 of his last 10) , something’s definitely wrong. Greene thinks he’s a power only bat currently it would seem. Keith needs Toledo. McKinstry is useless. Kelly had a good game yesterday and is good defensively, Rogers is also good and they both call a good game, so for that they deserve a bit more rope. The bullpen is still solid but for how long? Lange is the only piece that is not dependable in high leverage situations. I’d trust Miller over him, when healthy. I mean it’s a wonder they are 21-22, should have less than ten wins and be one of the worst teams in MLB, record wise. But as the guys at Bally keep pointing out, the anomaly of win-loss records home vs. away, if only they could play 162 on the road. That’s been a bizarre stat for the last several seasons. I like Hinch but he should go at the end of the season, if the Tigers don’t finish above.500. I predicted 83 wins and am sticking by it but becoming less and less confident as the games go by. Hopefully something can be done soon.
Motor City Beach Bum
On the pitching front Lange scares me every time he takes the ball and Manning is too fragile and inconsistent( trade bait). The starting four rock. I think Maeda will come around but if he doesn’t then it’s Jobe time! I read something the other day that said Keith has been the second most unluckiest player in the game and should be hitting well above what he is. McKinistry is on thin ice. I agree on the catchers. I’m still a Hinch fan. If they get him more offence and he can’t do anything with that, then that’s a different story. They need a solid bat to add to that lineup and I think Bregman and Arozarena might be as cheap as they are going to get with their poor start to the season. I think both would fit well in Detroit even if it would create roster issues. I also want to see Malloy. It’s time to bring him up and find a place to get his bat into the lineup. Tork is heating up which is good to see. Offense is the killer right now. The pitchers have been phenomenal and playoff worthy.
tigerfan4ever
I like Hinch a lot so worst case scenario there might be a necessary change if they don’t have at least a winning season. As the old saying goes “You can’t fire the team but you can the manager”.
tigerfan4ever
I liked Gardy as well but he was in a worse situation and was the scapegoat like most other managers have been in the past. When he retired, I wasn’t surprised at all. I was a huge fan of his even when he was with the Twins but it was obvious the game had passed him by. Even though Hinch was involved with a team that cheated and he ended up paying the price, he had a far better talent pool at the MLB level to succeed, in Houston vs. here. I don’t believe they necessarily needed to cheat to produce a winning team. They did, he paid the price and has moved on. Garbage can banging wouldn’t help as much in Detroit.
tigerfan4ever
I don’t see anything funny about threatening to remove my teeth or anything else you’ve said. You’re not here to civilly talk baseball but to insult and threaten anyone who disagrees with your needless vitriol, hurling insults at ball players and disrupting the flow of conversation and disrespecting others while lying about your life as you try to sadly intimidate and bully others. Why don’t you respect MCBBs request and talk baseball? Be a contributing member of society like most everyone else on this board and cut the sick depraved crap. If that’s your definition of humor, nobody’s laughing with you, just at you and we all pity you, not fear your thuggish behavior.
Motor City Beach Bum
Last post to you dude. I don’t want your attention. You are overbearing and try to bully everyone on here. Did I insult you as a veteran or question it when you said you were? No I didn’t. I was hoping you could stop being a narcissistic dick and talk baseball but that seems to be impossible with you so I won’t bother. I don’t even think you’re a Tigers fan the way you go on and never have anything good to say. I have no doubt you will feel the need to get the last word in because that is what a narcissists does when you disagree with them.
tigerfan4ever
And again if you don’t want to chat with us “morons” and you don’t want to answer simple questions, here’s the solution I proposed to you multiple times. Don’t post. By you not posting, you don’t have to interact with those like me, MCBB or anyone else. It’s that simple, but you are too much of a narcissist to take that sound advice.
tigerfan4ever
Narcissistic bullies will narcissistic bully. The little boy will never be able to hang with the big boys thus he has to lash out. The more he posts, the more I agree with your very valid point about him not being a Tiger fan.
tigerfan4ever
*Cowers in the corner over Colavito’s so called information about himself*. What does your BS accomplish? Absolutely nothing. You truly are full of yourself and delusional. You solidify that reputation every time you post.
So you think you’re going to use your fantasy powers against me? Can you find me to knock my teeth out? Do you know what I look like, where I live, where I grocery shop? Where I work? All answers are no. So what good do your threats do for yourself. You’re a laughing stock, a persona you’ve made for yourself. Nobody’s afraid of you. We pity you and your submoronic thuggery. React how you wish, we’ll continue to pity you and laugh at you. Best you can do is go upstairs from the basement and get your cereal from your mom for breakfast and stop googling martial arts to bulk up your dad self esteem.

Speaking of well hidden and not creative, maybe you should scroll through your own posts again, you narcissistic freak. Rules for me and not for thee? If you said the things you say to me and others, you’d be six feet under. Watch out when you disagree with someone in public and call them a moron, punk and other garbage. Your fantasy Google searched martial arts will not stop that bullet between the eyes. Bruce Lee you are not. The coroner will laugh at you, just as we all do here, funny guy.

I’m done with you, psycho. You’re a POS that isn’t worth any more of my time. I’m here to talk baseball, not toy with an unhinged internet bully. You just don’t get it, you’re being laughed at for your garbage. Don’t expect any more responses from me, as I don’t care to sink to your submoronic level.
The Saber-toothed Superfife
All of this kind of carp could have been avoided completely,
if only they had hired the Superfife….

Hopefully the Tigers stay close over the next little bit and add this year at the deadline, if their young bats don’t come around before then. That pitching staff is too good to waste waiting for next year. Right now I think the pitching stacks up with anyone in the league. They need to fill holes and compete in the short term too. Test time for Harris and Greenberg. Since Greenberg has come on board there have been no issues. If they give Hinch the right bats I think he’ll keep them competitive and could even pullba Texas. Baez needs to be benched though and maybe play twice a week.

Although I agree with you regarding Baez, apparently Hinch says he’s not to that point yet. He’s stating he’ll get plenty of at bats for now. As I’d stated before, who would fill in if he was benched. We discussed Leonard in an earlier post. If he were healthy, I’d say like you to give him a chance. Ryan Kreidler is on the minors IL as well, as again if healthy, he’d be the first one they’d bring up. So I guess with no obvious solution, Baez stays. If McKinstry was any good, he’d be a candidate for the full time replacement, but for the most part, he’s more useless than Baez.

McKinistry is streaky (like last year). He could fill in if he got on a hot streak but itherwise he’s just filler. I’m not a fan of Kreidlers hitting or Leonard’s defense but I agree Kreidler would be first up. I think this is a key year for Peyton Graham the young SS they drafted a couple tears ago. Gage Workman is a guy I thought eas going to be solid but great defense too many SO’s.
I think they need to look outside the organization for a long term solution. Cincy has Edwin Arroyo and McLain on the injured list and 8 million shortstops so maybe there is a fit there. Not Noelvi Marte though…peds and bound for 3B (or an Andy Ibanez type role) that guy is. Seattle has a bunch of young SS prospects too…not sure there’s a fit there though.

With that information and knowledge, the Tigers might be forced tread water to play out the season with Javy and get his replacement through free agency this coming offseason.

It seems like their internal options are too far off, unless Leonard shows something this year. It’ll be interesting to see what they end up doing.

Ok time to find a way to bottle runs for the future. 13-0 Tigers over the reigning NL champs. This after three horrible offensive performances against the worst team in MLB.
I love blowout games because you get to hear how Gibby called the Santa Claus hotline in July when he was a kid. Plus Jason witnessed for the first time Kirk’s weird scoring with a “C” on a groundout. Great stuff!

Oh yeah, need I say yet another gem from Tarik Skubal who is 6-0 with a 1.80 ERA and Colt Keith’s first 4 hit game of his young career.

Even Javy joined in on the fun!
