With summer almost upon us and spring slipping away, so too do our excuses for why our players are under or overproducing what we expected when drafting them. Saying, "It's still just May" is perfectly sane but the deeper into summer you use the excuse of time, the more you're probably fooling yourself. Since (nearly) two months are now in the books, let's cleave this early part of the season into two and see what we can see.

Champ world champion Texas Rangers
Vlad jr to Texas Rangers soon.

Why would two non-playoff teams make a trade like that?
Generally, when trading a noteworthy player like Vlad (damaged goods that he may be) you trade him to a team with a much better record, not the same record.

Huh? Teams will trade to the team that they perceive gives them the best offer. Fact is the Rangers are in the American League West and have plenty of reasons to go for a stud like Vladdy…

As the defending champs, Texas might want to give it another shot. And TO might want to start thinking about a possible rebuild.
If I were TX, I’d stick with Lowe, but I’d still have the conversation. Sometimes you need a trade to wake a player up.
Champ world champion Texas Rangers
Rangers 3 games behind division leading Seattle and can’t hit left pitching Vlad has a 470. On base vs lefty this year. Toronto is 11 games back in division so it is actually a huge difference. Rangers need a right handed bat to hit 3rd in the lineup to protect Seager!!

With the Rogers reno there is no chance they take option A and trade vlady , more likely option B retool for 25 right or wrong

White Sox are not a fantasy they are a nightmare!!
THEY LIVE!!!
I wish Corey Seager played for the LA Dodgers. This writer is a couple of years off though. The Dodgers could play Betts at 2B or RF & trade Lux for a back up catcher that can throw runners out.
