- Considering the amount of effort the Tigers front office has put into fielding a major league team in the past 10 years, should Tiger fans feel slighted? “They can wait” seems to be the attitude. Should Tiger fans just stop buying Little Caesars pizza and encourage their friends to buy their pizzas elsewhere? I am sure franchise owners enjoy being associated with a cheap loser. (31:20)

Excellent podcast as always, guys!

Weird flex for “experts” to boast they’re not going to wake up “early” (6:00 a.m.) to watch the first baseball games of the season — especially in another country — and just “check the scores.”
machumizer
I keep forgetting these games are happening, theres been no hype and Its disappointing. Baseball in another country, Dodgers vs. Pads, korean baseball goes nuts and the best korean baseball player in the world is on the Padres. I had to get myself excited about these games. I can see how they may feel uninspired to cover two early morning games with two teams they may have no personal connection to, MLB isnt making an effort to market them in the slightest.
Fever Pitch Guy
mach – I’ve seen promotions for it, but bottom line virtually nobody will watch a 3AM-6AM live event on a workday for most people. And you’ve got March Madness and both NHL and NBA heading into the stretch run.
JoeBrady
I think that is all understandable. MLB is not trying for the US audience for these two games. Just getting the Japanese and Koreans to full-tilt is more than a good reward.
whyhayzee
Has the spank me organization given a detailed account of Ole Man Cole’s boo boo yet?
Meanwhile, the Red Sox have informed us of the injury and subsequent treatment for their pitcher.
It’s not easy to make the Red Sox look like they actually know what’s going on. How about that?
oldgfan
Information given would lessen the leverage in trade and or free agent acquisitions. Yanks are playing it smart.
GASoxFan
At this point the Yankees don’t keep ‘leverage.’
Everyone knows Cole is hurt. The fact you’re crawling back to earlier in the year trade hypotheticals like cease tells us he’s out a long time.
Message to yanks org: you’re not half as coy with this as you think you are.
JoeBrady
My guess is that we know as much as they do right now. In about two months, Cole will throw a pitch and wonder why he even needed to take time off. Or he’ll throw a pitch and walk right over to the team doctor.
runningwithnailclippers
Odd question, but I have hearing issues and am curious if these podcats are offered in a written out/captioned format? Thanks. Love the site.
KHE
Stop worrying about the release of Davis. They better get some Pitching as in they have Nothing to write home about or concerns the Opponents Teams. Go get Snell and stop dragging your feet.
The Saber-toothed Superfife
Ooops….
I didn’t think you would ACTUALLY TAKE MY QUESTION…….
Good answer, though….
The Saber-toothed Superfife
I think relievers are a hot commodity at trade deadline……so figure the Angels?

So this off season many Red Sox fans who enjoy predicting the future along with the idiots in the media set an opening day line-up as follows:
C – Wong
1B – Casas
2B – Grissom
SS – Story
3B – Devers
LF – Duran
CF – O”Neill
RF – Abreu
DH – Yoshida
Thanks to a lack of intestinal fortitude, it appears Breslow will show no balls and leave Devers at 3B, show no balls and keep Cora as Manager and show no balls by not signing a single all-star when he had roughly $90MM to spend on the 2024 team.
And for all you who wrote off Rafaela, how’s that working out? Abreu who? For all the people complaining about Duran and Casas on defense. I bet together they have 20 less official errors than Devers and over 50 less misplays than Devers. So are they really a problem?
A team that has two speedsters in Duran and Rafaela who bat lefty and righty, how hard is it to figure out that the top of the order should be:
Duran
Rafaela
Yoshida
Devers
Story/O’Neill
Casas
Story/O’Neill
Wong
Grissom
Yoshida needs to replace JT as the guy who ACTUALLY generates runs while Devers continues to swing for the fences in an attempt at self adoration. A wasted $300MM. You don’t get to say that very often!!!
For all those who continue to believe in Houck (the guy who needs to be a reliever), Crawford (the forgotten reliable pitcher) and the grossly over-rated Bello who at best right now is league average with a six year contrat, we do still have the SP3 to SP5 pitchers we started the off season with.
Now if only we had a GM who got off his ass and got two quality SPs rather than spinning the wheel of fortune on a recently bad SP who now needs a year to recover from sucking so badly for two years, we might have a somewhat competitive team. Instead, we’re in the basement about two or three flights below the fourth place finisher who could be TB due to injuries, NYY due to injuries or Toronto due to a lack of motivation to win. All we know now is that BAL looks like a lock for first place.
This off season was supposed to be better than the Bloom off seasons but it hasn’t really felt that way. It seems like more of the same downward trajectory by the owners and front office and the only ray of light are the guys drafted by DD the horrible drafter and the guy who ruined the farm system yet provided the only quality farm players other than Anthony!!! Oh the irony!!! hahaha
Funny how wrong people can be in their assessments of a baseball organization!!!
2030 seems like the next chance for the Red Sox to win a division title and that’s a very optimistic prediction. The key to anything improving is change and with no change at 3B, manager, GM or owners, there really isn’t much hope that 2030 can happen.
Hard to walk with four balls
zzzzzz i can’t listen to this nonsense
Trollfree
Hard – you took time out of your busy schedule to make that comment!!!
You should go back to twitter.
