@1:26. Greinke too; a mid season signing candidate and for same reasoning that Steve mentioned about Hill. In the process, he gets his 3000 and doing it for a team that gets him a legit shot at the one credential missing from a HOF career … WS champ.
Fever Pitch Guy
Okay I know this gets said often by others, but today’s chat questions were beyond dumb!
“Could Rendon get traded along with a prospect to shed his salary?”
“Who hangs up? Stanton and Peraza for Anthony Rendon”
Probably the same kid asking both questions, what a waste.
Unclemike1525
It never ceases( No pun intended but noted) , How many supposed ” Fans” Think they’re wasted former top 100 failures are worth somebody else’s Top P. I mean everybody wants to take their garbage to the dump and get handed 100 bucks but when will they get it that it’s ridiculous? In every chat there are guys(Gals) who actually think that Joey Bart is worth anything. What’s he on his 3rd team? More? IDK. Adell, Bart and failures like that might get an A ball guy in return, And you think he’s worth an arm? And they want valuable arms to boot. We need better question screeners.
Canuckleball
Bart was drafted by SF and is still there so he’s on his first team.
But totally agree that so many fans seem to have lopsided views of player value. I suppose to some extent, it’s the price of being a fan and seeing the guys that play for ‘our’ teams more often… and getting attached, to some extent.
Fever Pitch Guy
Canuck – I agree, but like Steve said …. who would take on $114M of likely dead money for just a prospect?
And why would the Yankees trade Peraza and Stanton for much bigger dead money?
Unclemike1525
I’ll settle this once and for all. Joey Bart’s trade value is a six pack of Schlitz, a package of stale hot dog buns and a bottle of Pepto Bismol. Now nobody else has to ask.
vtadave
Only team that does that is the Dodgers, and only if that prospect were a guy like Wyatt Langford.
Canuckleball
As to why the writers keep answering these terrible trade questions, perhaps they’re hoping to educate the less informed folks.
The more dimwits you can educate, the fewer dimwits there are left (in theory)
If the writers just ignore those folks, then they just keep on believing their delusions.
Unclemike1525
And before anybody asks, Adell’s trade value is a quart of MD 20/20 and a roll of Tums( Extra Strength).
CarverAndrews
@Canuck – Unfortunately, that does not seem to be working when it comes to the real world. There are so many dimwits that are STILL ready to back an incompetent liar and insurrectionist that it boggles the imagination.

“This is a slow-ish time of year for these chats and we were still over 1000 participants at various points today.” ..And this is the best they could do? Ahahaha!
I.M. Insane
I’d rather see questions like that or even “Is Ohtani good?” than that bees/beads poop.
Fever Pitch Guy
Insane – I think now Mark is doing it just to irritate people. Haha!
Bucket Number Six
What happened to the Shohei Ohtani Rumors website? That was such a great idea.

I love how Steve’s answers can sometimes turn into five paragraph essays lol but his takes are always spot on, seems to me. Hard to argue with any of his answers
Fever Pitch Guy
Ignorant – Agreed! Steve and Tim are the best. I like the way Steve is polite but blunt with some of his answers, he doesn’t sugarcoat.
