Today is the deadline for players and teams to exchange figures in arbitration — an annual deadline that leads to a slew of one-year deals and, typically, a handful of multi-year deals. Today should see upwards of 100 players agree to salaries for the 2024 season, although the majority of clubs and players now wait until the very last minute to agree. The deadline for agreements is noon CT, and we’ll see terms on plenty of last-minute/buzzer-beating deals filter in shortly thereafter. Players and teams that do not reach an agreement will exchange salary figures at 7pm CT tonight.
Each player’s service time is in parentheses, and you can of course check back to see each player’s projected salary from MLBTR contributor Matt Swartz. We’ll keep this updated as deals come in — refresh for updates — and break off some of the larger, more prominent agreements in separate entries. All agreements are for one year unless otherwise noted.

Didn’t Albert Abreu (Yankees) sign to play in Japan next season?
angryyankeesfan1
Yes but FanGraphs hasn’t updated it, which is probably where the confusion came from
top jimmy
I thought the Yanks nontendered him.
YanksIn2024
Yes Abreu no longer on Yanks and yes these salary projections are for last season. Sloppy

How many hit 10+? I. Guessing 7.

There are better writers in the comment threads than in the articles. Seriously. There are as many spelling mistakes, errors and typos in the articles as there is in the comments. Writers are the worst. Find me one that can run, catch, Throw, and hit and I’ll buy you a pizza.
GhostOfKevinElster
Cry about it. Why don’t they get hired then? Shut up and enjoy free content you dullard

It appears Tim lost some oversight of his company, unfortunately. He worked his butt off in the early years and growth years and hired staff as it took off. As the company continued to prosper, a lot of the good MLBTR writers got plucked by newspapers, baseball publications and organizations. Hence, the quality has gradually gone downhill over the past few seasons. It’s still a solid resource and informative, but I’m not sure as if how much oversight and care occurs any more.

Tyler Rogers figure is incorrect. Slusser made error.

Padres barely had to work an agreement with anyone

Soto $31mill rental fee for the Yankees…it’ll be interesting to see how many Brinks trucks will need to be in the Bronx the day that contract is inked!
acoss13
Soto and Boras are probably looking for like a 12-year deal with AAV in the 38-40 million range. With opt outs, performance bonuses and all that good stuff peppered in.
Fever Pitch Guy
acoss – I agree! Using Ohtani’s $460M as a basis, I’d say your range is highly accurate assuming no deferrals.
Dotnet22
John King (Cardinals) $1.005MM. Bro had to get that extra 5K tacked on.
rondon
2.75 million for Wisdom.. Unreal.
acoss13
Yes, I feel your excitement for his near 40% strikeout rate too!
etex211
Can somebody help me understand the process? According to the numbers in the articles, my Rangers reached an agreement with 7.5 million for Nate Lowe. Adolis Garcia is going to arbitration. Adolis requested $6.9 million and the Rangers submitted $5 million. Shouldn’t the Rangers be willing to pay Adolis what they paid Nate? Both players show to be 3+ years.
LordD99
It’s an interesting question. Lowe has slightly more service time, but they both have three years of service, and are 1st-year arbitration-eligible players, projected as free agents post the 2026 season, so three more years of control. Garcia was certainly more valuable last year. There’s something we’re just not seeing since Matt Schwartz’s projections also had Lowe earning $2.2M more than Garcia.
jmhard
Lowe was a super 2, so this is his second year in arbitration.

Why the Cardinals disrespect
Tommy Edman so much is beyond me!!
He’s one of the most liked and respected player in the Cardinals Clubhouse.
Edman is a Gold Glove candidate at every position he plays. He’s one of, if not the best utility men in baseball.
Edman is no slouch at the plate either!! He’s a switch hitting, contact— clutch hitter. He’s a situational hitter. He’ll sacrifice himself to move runners in scoring position.
Plus—- with a runner at 3rd base — less than 2 out—- Edman doesn’t mind giving himself up to hit the long fly ball to get the run home.
The Cardinals constantly have him in trade talks!! Total disrespect and leaving Edman the impression — the Cardinals Front Office don’t want him and don’t need him.
I guarantee you—- the Cardinals DO NEED TOMMY EDMAN. Without him on the field and in the clubhouse would make for an extremely negative situation. Plus send negative vibes to the rest of the Cardinals. Indicating a player can bust his butt for the Team—- yet you could be fired at any second.
Simply because the Front office wants to play a man with a career 32% strikeout rate, but could “Possibly” hit 30 home runs— Playing that man in Tommy Edman’s Gold Glove position.
CRAZY!!!
