At the prompting of MLBTR readers, we have fixed bugs related to leaving comments and muting people in the Trade Rumors iOS app. Sorry for the delay on those fixes. If you have noticed other bugs in our iOS or Android apps, please mention them in the comments of this post if you’re so inclined.
The codebase for both apps is getting a bit long in the tooth, so we are planning a full revamp hopefully by late 2024. If there’s something you’d like to see in the new Trade Rumors app next year, let me know in the comments!
That said, both apps still get the job done, and they allow you to set up feeds and notifications for MLB, NBA, NFL, and/or NHL, as well as any combination of teams and players for those leagues. Click here to download our iOS app and here for Android.
Please note: many of you may already be reading this post in the app, in which case there’s no need to download anything. And others may not be aware that the app is based on our four longstanding websites: MLB Trade Rumors, Hoops Rumors, Pro Football Rumors, and Pro Hockey Rumors.
Love the app have had it for years now.
I will never subscribe to this site due to censorship of comments
I tried downloading it, and it says “can not download this app, this app was made for an older version of android”. I screen shot it, but not sure how to leave a photo comment on here.
Same here.
It would be nice to have a filtering feature that allows you to sort comments by the top rated/best comment etc. Also, bring back the down vote! 😀
Thanks, Tim!
Android app — always issues with seeing previously muted commenters despite being logged into same MLBTR account. Would like to see “like” button for comments on app. Appreciate the app though.
The fixes are appreciated from someone who uses the app 99.5% of the time.
Sorry, I can’t. I get this message:
This app isn’t available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android.
I’d like to have a separate app for each sport. I don’t want my baseball news having a football logo on the app.
Yamamoto to Giants?
Strange place to post this comment.
I use it on my iPhone. I live and travel all over Africa. I stop on my motorcycle in the bush and if I have a signal, it works excellent.
I use the IOS version of the app. I added the Seattle Mariners as a team to follow and instead of getting Seattle Mariners stories I’m getting San Diego Padres stories instead. This doesn’t happen with the rest of the teams that I follow just the Seattle Mariners. Thanks…
iOS version in App Store says it was updated 6 months ago. App crashed and closed today just by giving a thumbs up to a comment
I would like to download the app except I’m still waiting on a response regarding my past two accounts being locked out which is an issue several others have experienced. An overzealous moderator disagrees with something a commenter posts and the account is immediately locked out.
You asked that I send you an email from the email associated with each account so that you could remedy the situation. I have done that yet have received no reply at all.
I received emails from “Tom” and “Dave.” Are those both your aliases?
Please review our commenting policy:
mlbtraderumors.com/2020/07/mlb-trade-rumors-commen…
We do not remove comments because we disagree with them.
Yes and none of the emails I’ve sent over the past months have been responded to including to the ones sent this week.
That may be your policy, but it’s simply not true. I’ve seen many comments removed by overzealous moderators that can have no justification other than the comment not being in line with the personal preferences of the moderator. Comments as innocuous as someone saying they don’t want to wear a mask are immediately purged while comments in favor of vaccines are left standing so it clearly has nothing to do with the comments being on or off topic. It’s agenda based removal.
You absolutely do censor and remove comments you do not agree with.
Hi Tim – still haven’t received a response to either email. You promised that you would resolve the issue and respond.
Nitpicking for sure, but are there any plans to allow for selection of a home icon on the iOS app, like many other apps have? I’d love to see a baseball icon rather than a football.
I’d love to see a filterable, sortable, in-app free agent tracker. Love you all! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for finally fixing comments on the app. I might even give myself a paid subscription for Christmas. At least if the Mute function works which I haven’t had occasion to test in the past couple of days.
