As the offseason nears, a number of players elect minor league free agency each week. These players are separate from six-year MLB free agents, who’ll reach the open market five days after the conclusion of the World Series. Eligible minor leaguers can begin electing free agency as soon as the regular season wraps up. These players were all outrighted off a team’s 40-man roster during the year and have the requisite service time and/or multiple career outrights necessary to reach free agency since they weren’t added back to teams’ rosters.
Electing free agency is the anticipated outcome for these players. There’ll surely be more to test the market in the coming weeks. We’ll offer periodic updates at MLBTR, including a list of 29 players last week. The next group, courtesy of the transaction tracker at MiLB.com:

The excitement is palpable.

Your use of palpable is both palatable and plantible.

One must be pliable to plausibly perceive the philosophical concept of plantibility.

ATTENTION: Royals, A’s & Rockies:
Here is half your 2024 roster as you attempt to reach some level of respectability.
Of course, after your team’s 2023 results,
You can always denounce your MLB affiliation and just
Officially Become the AAA teams that you are already.
solaris602
This list combined with the one that came out about a week and a half ago provide the bottom feeders with a handsome rag & bone buffet they can tap to replace their castaways with someone else’s. Oh, and don’t forget expansion is on Manfred’s to do list soon, so best to lock these gems up ahead of that draft.
tiger9
Expansion?? Seriously?? The talent is already watered down plenty. Nix at least 2 teams and watch those 52 players thrive in AAA where they belong.
ThonolansGhost
People always say that stuff with each expansion, but MLB does just fine. Quality is as good as it ever was.
avenger65
Really? How many teams this year had just two healthy pitchers, then had to patch up their rosters with whatever they had on the minors or dfa’s? There simply are not enough major league quality players to fill out a team’s roster. Expansion teams will likely get their pick of has-beens and hangers-on in the expansion draft. It will take years to be competitive with teams like that. They won’t be able to trade their rejects for quality players.

+1 for Rag & Bone Buffet. Somebody has an album by that name…was it Elvis Costello ?

Sounds like a Korean League roster to me.
mlb1225
Is there a complete list of the minor league free agents somewhere?
Unclemike1525
Not until the teams decide which Arbitration players they want to tender. And then the better ones will go into the rule 5 draft. What’s left will be worse than this list.

Dat – I’m at work so I can’t. What comes up, 14 hookers looking for a new pimp?

Another episode of the Goodwill bins of MLB. Dive in the pile, hope for a treasure.
solaris602
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. As long as you consider one of those plastic rings that you blow into that makes a whirring sound treasure, you’ll have it made.

Thanks for the laugh!!
Big Hurt
I’m shocked that the White Sox turned Honeywell from a good risk with 40 decent innings in SD into a pitcher who gave up basically a run an inning over 20 IP.
Niekro floater
He looked like serviceable bullpen arm w/Pads, surprised they let em go.
I.M. Insane
I’d take a shot with Castillo or Barraclough. Pass on the rest.
Fever Pitch Guy
Insane – Wait a little longer and Ort could be yours.
BPax
Diego Castillo has been effective in the past. Spent most of this season in Tacoma where he had mediocre results. I wonder if he’s having trouble adjusting to the pitch clock as he was one of the worst offenders for stepping off and going through an “adjustment” routine that could be quite irritating to watch. After every pitch mind you. His hat, his collar, his sleeves, etc.
Kershaw'sRightArm
This seems like prime list of players for either the KBO, or the Sioux City Explorers, of the highly competitive American Association.

Guys, com’on! No one took the bait about the Sioux City Explorers?!?!? Gee wizz gang. #SadKershawFace

Watching the professional at bats from the Rangers is what makes this Brewers season (and most MLB teams generally this year) so sad. I realize they (Rangers) got hot at the right time and I didn’t get the chance to watch them much during the regular season, but watching their approach in the playoffs, their selection of pitches to swing at, and then their ability to aim for and find gaps consistently is enviable. They’ve shown the ability to barrel up and crush mistakes from opposing pitchers, as well as take what the pitcher/defense gives them and put the ball where the defense isn’t. This is what batting should look like across the MLB, not the launch angle swing for the fences or strikeout crap we’ve been getting the last few years. The D-Backs have done a nice job at this too.
In Seager/Hader We Trust > the 70 MM DH Ohtani
They did get hot at the right time, but they also had the 2nd best run differential in the AL, something that may not have gotten nearly as much attention as it should have. I saw a sweep of Baltimore coming, but most others expected the lucky “101-win team” without their closer to beat the fully healthy Texas Rangers. It’s quite sad. Also, Evan Carter helped with the good at bats and wasn’t on the MLB roster most of the season.
