titanic struggle
Does JoVo come back to the Reds? He was kind of ambiguent today..
This one belongs to the Reds
He doesn’t know what they are thinking, plus he is not playing up to his standards. So I think it is up in the air.
In Seager/Hader We Trust > the 70 MM DH Ohtani
I have respect for those who admit to being wrong about something (the Angels lol).

It’s a huge assumption that the Cardinals want to win in 2024. They sure didn’t want to win in ’23 very bad. I think an Arenado trade is a very real possibility and it could come about because of Arenado. His level of happiness/focus/intensity all took a dive this season compared to last.
If he feels betrayed by the Cardinals, those feelings are justified. He’s forced his way out before. The hyper image-conscious Cardinals won’t want a replay of what happened in Colorado. If Arenado left town talking about the Cardinals in a negative way, that’s the kind of PR disaster that could get Mo fired. Mo knows self-preservation.
Manfred’s playing with the balls
I agree with everything you said, but if Arenado forces his way off his second team, a year or two after signing an extension or forgoing an opt out. He needs to stop agreeing to long term deals. He’d probably have made more money going year to year anyway.

Arenado isn’t going to have to worry about it because he won’t sign another long term deal.

cora as a GM? Good grief…

Orioles and Phillies in the WS?
My 2 favorite teams – especially to watch play. Smart. Disciplined. My picks as well.
FO heads understand it’s about making players under contract better as the year goes on. Depth. Peak in September and especially October. It’s a playoff league. Running up stats during the season mean nothing. Just stay close in the standings and get in the playoffs.
One other thing – don’t underestimate Kyle Gibson, He’s a money player, and pitching leader of the O’s.

At 7:43. Loved “Frank Drebin” reference.

At 7:46; betcha the FO extends Mullins, Santander and Hays before the young guns. To me, they are the position player core (and Adley). Plus, considering the owner’s comments, much more realistic money wise. IE. “Takes 2 to tango”. Agents will be demanding top dollar if they haven’t made that clear already.
Samuel
That’s funny….
For 2 years here posters wanted to trade Santander and Hays – among others.

Mountcastle. Trade Mountcastle.
For 2 years did posters WANT to trade them and thought that’s what an opposing GM like a Ng would want in exchange for a proven SP?

The Tigers have top minor league players/draft picks “knocking at the big league door”
like Colt Keith, Jace Jung and many others.
Many of the Tigers minor league teams are making the minor league playoffs.
Therefore, I can’t see the Tigers clogging up and blocking major league positions and playing time with expensive free agents like they did with Javier Baez ( a terrible free agent deal and a huge over pay).
The Tigers should be following the Orioles formula by letting their great, young talent get acclimated to MLB so they can open that new window of contention in a few years.

Tigers biggest need is SS. Just because they’re locked into Baez doesn’t mean that production from SS isn’t their biggest problem. I can also see a defensive upgrade over Baez, too. He makes some sparkling plays, but also boots a lot as well.
