Drew Gilbert time!!!
Hell Yes!
Marte is on the roster but not Encarnation-Strand?
He is imminent to the MLB, this is for guys a couple years away. Not many above AA on the roster
Where’s Ryan Clifford??
Endy Rodriguez did nothing to earn it based on his performance this season.
He’s still a top prospect and that’s what this game is for, regardless of recent performance.
I am very surprised Termarr Johnson isn’t in the futures game. He is smashing A ball pitchers and really making it tough not to promote him. Not sure what Pittsburgh is doing here with Johnson.
But it is nice to see Endy Rod and Massey in the futures games. Slightly surprised Jones and Priester wasn’t in the futures game as well.
Priester isn’t in it because he is doodoo this year
15 teams. 25 spots. Leave some for the rest of the league.
The all star and future all star team rosters should be 30. There’s always gonna be players snubbed. This year for the mlb all star game nico hoerner was snubbed. Hard not to vote for Arreaz but Nico is easily a top 5 2B
It’s a 7 inning game though… (futures) … why its 25 not 26 is weird but it makes no sense to expand it.
As for the MLB one, they end up with like 40 on each team, not 26, so a lot more players will make it.
Why is it only 7innings?
No idea why, but it mentions it in this article at the top. So that’s going to be at least 2 less pitchers and potentally a couple less subs in the lineup./field too.
This game is more about MLB recognizing the players themselves and allowing them to have a big league experience rather than entertaining fans. There is also the celebrity softball game which follows and is the headliner on July 8th. They want to start that on-time.
@Logjammer, Nico was not snubbed. Arraez, Albies, Marte all have had better seasons. It’s not a knock on him, just alot of players having fine seasons.
Probably Johnson’s sky-high K-rate but good raw talent.
Johnson is hitting .245 and has less than 300 career minor league ABs. Yes his bat is heating up of late, but hes done nothing to warrant any kind of promotion yet.
Massey has been a nice surprise this season. Not very good college numbers, 8th round underslot pick, could be a sneaky pitching prospec to watch this year.
Colt Keith and Justyn Henry Malloy…future heart of the order hitters for the Tigers.
Just don’t know where in the field they’ll be playing.
If they can hit a place will be found for them.
Unless they play for the Twins.
When did Rushing leap up the MLB.com list?
They just released a mid-season update of the rankings.
These rosters are a joke. There are players who don’t deserve to be on here and many who do, but aren’t.
such as?
Well for one, as a Blue Jays fan, I immediately noticed the inclusion of Yosver Zuluetta over Adam Kloffenstein.
Can watch who the Tigers passed on in the draft in Marcelo Mayer and Jordan Lawler in that draft when Tigers needed a shortstop badly. Instead of taking a high school pitcher who is injured.
They say that HS righty pitchers are the riskiest choices in the draft.
Given Drohan’s control problems, he feels like an odd pick.
Mayer has not been playing well (I will admit he was the guy I wanted). Jobe is on his way back with a new pitch. I will reserve e judgement on that one fir at keast a couple years.
When is the game where American minor leaguers
play foreign minor leaguers?
This is the game. Looks like they’re using a new format this year.
They have gone back to AL vs NL (as it was in 2019 and earlier)
Thanks!
I am shocked that only one Rockies prospect made the roster. Spokane has three other guys just as deserving as Fernandez, if not more so. Sterlin Thompson is hitting .400 in high A. Adael Amador is a more highly ranked prospect and is hitting .300. Jordan Beck is leading the team in homers with a .950 OPS as well. I realize there has to be a cut off at some point, but I think at least one of them deserved to go.
25 spots for 15 teams… its a math issue.
They should cap teams at 2. With that kind of math issue, the Brewers should not be getting three invites.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Drohan in Boston before the season is over
True Drohan might get a start-2 come Sept if Boston is out of the playoff chase, hold little confidence with what he has translating to being even a back end MLB starter once he has pitched a few games at the MLB level, his changeup is really the only above average pitch he has and nothing else he throws has impressed me. Combine that with a 91-2 (tops) FB and he’s someone really hope another team has fallen in love with the changeup and he’s dealt before it’s too late and all the warts are unmasked.
Shame really, cause team has zero starters above A ball in the system, other than longshot Gambrell who may develop and a pretty week bunch of starters throughout the system.
Anyone else notice the comedian nominated as the AL’s manager for this game? have doubts Reynolds can navigate his way around town wherever he lives, much less coach/manage at any level.
I’m almost 100 percent positive John Mozeliak will find a way to block Tink Hence this off-season, then trade him away for 2 years of Marcel ozuna….
And to make up for it he will sign Miles Mikolas who isn’t bad… but is he Sandy Alcantara and Zac Gallen?
And for what a NLDS victory speech that makes you fire a really good manager in terms of winning percentage in club franchise history oand trade away two cuban stars in what is now know as the “Cuban Translator crisis” because your to broke to afford a translator for your cuban all stars?
Wow, the new Cardinals way!
Hink will be a disappointment. He’s only listed at 6’1” years which means he’s probably more like 5’10”. To small for a SP. he’s destined to be a bullpen max effort guy.
Choosing an article unrelated to St Louis cardinals front office to denigrate the team—The (not so) new Cardinals Troll way.
Cards are now the worst team ever, even worse than the A’s, all because of one bad season.
Quero gonna be a top 10 guy next season
I’m hyped on him too. Top 25 maybe cuz Brewers prospect. If he were a Dodgers prospect he’s top 10 easy.
Bkbk, which one? The Brewers minor league catcher? Or the Angels minor league catcher?
The Dodgers trade Clayton Beeter for a guy who cant hit above .200
That was a rare terrible move from them. They should have traded nothing but cash to get a player as poor as Gallo but their arrogance in believing they can fix everyone was on display.
Does anyone know if each team must be represented like in the MLB ASG?
I’m wondering that myself. I think so, since Joey Cantillo is on there.
How is Cesar Prieto from the Orioles not in? He’s hitting .360 with a .400 obp between AA and AAA. I’m guessing this is another popularity contest like the MLB all-star game.

I think it’s weird when players come back to the Futures Game two years in a row. It’s kind of like repeating the 12th grade..
How many Future Games do you think J. Holliday will be a part of?
Great roster! Hopefully no one trips and sprains a Yanquiel. That would be awful.
Great to see two Blue Jays pitchers. Lots of surprises on the list. Who selects the players? Is it a fan vote, a panel of experts, or a coach?
Still a little butt hurt Rockies didn’t draft Dalton Rushing. Guess he probably felt like a duplicate of Hunter Goodman to their front office.
wishing wisenhunt well – dude is only in AA but probably won’t take long to make the major league club
FYI Colt Keith was called up to AAA as of 6/26/23
Sem Robberse is a Cardinal now. Not a Blue Jay.
