Wait, what is the point about talking about the Wild Card race on May 31? Its going to come down to the last month, anything can happen in the meantime, why even bother this early???
wagner13
Because it’s important to consider when evaluating the trade landscape.
If that’s your perspective on things, why bother watching baseball until September?
wagner13
Lol

Hard to believe that, for all the money Cohen, Dombrowski & Preller have spent, that they are collectively under .500.
Big whiffa
Should have bought both Houston’s and tampas scouts and player development staff. Would have had enough money left over for a string of islands in South Pacific too
JoeBrady
LOL! Scouts & coaches in MLB are like writers in Hollywood. It’s a whole lot easier to have a hit when you have good material.

In a future episode can you discuss the return of Dback’s Prospect Kristian Robinson? In 2021, Robinson was #39 on the MLB Top 100 Prospects list and #1 on the Dback’s Top 30 Prospects list. Then legal troubles, not poor performance pulled him completely off those Top Prospects lists. His legal problems are behind him and Robinson has been activated onto the Dback’s 40 Man Roster, and assigned to Low A Visalia. Yesterday in his debut he went 2-4 with a stolen base. After a 3 1/2 year layoff from Affiliated ball, at age 22 where would you place Robinson on the Dback’s Top 30? Or the MLBTop 100? How fast can Robinson now progress through the Dback’s Farm System to the majors? etc.

Certainly an intriguing storyline, though MLBTR doesn’t generate top 30 or top 100 prospect lists.
Oz8
Enjoyed the podcast. No banter or BS, just good information and speculation.

What happened to Simon?
Tim Dierkes
Unfortunately, Simon resigned from MLBTR. He has a separate full-time job that is not allowing him to take secondary work. It was unexpected for us but we wish him well.
Dread Pirate Roberts
That’s a bummer,thanks for the info
Backup Catcher to the Backup Catcher
Bummer for Cubbies if they lose Steele. With him and Stroman heading the rotation, and Smyley exceeding expectations, I thought The Cubbies could contend for the playoffs.
WrongM
Unrelated to the above, but it’s fun when the “top stories”/”recent stories” sidebar on the MLBTR main page glitches and links to stories from a wildly different date, as it has done this morning. Posts about Kendrys Morales, Stephen Drew, Todd Coffey, and “Red Sox GM Cherington.” Good stuff!
