I think the Orioles starters get more flack than they deserve. They aren’t shut down, but they give 5 innings 3 runs pretty regularly, which equates to a 5.40 era. It’s a 7 inning game vs the orioles with Bautista and Cano. The offense and bullpen is good enough to cover the flaws of the rotation. I think they are a step ahead of the angels. Obviously I’m biased, but I don’t ever expect any starter, except Grayson atm, to go out and completely get bundled. Playoffs are expected from the fans right now.

Simon, the other Cardinal outfielders don’t move the needle for me as a Cleveland fan. O”Neil had one good year, is oft injuried, and is a short term asset. Carlson is also oft injured and does not provide the needed power bat. He is mediocre at best. Burleson is another lefty that can’t hit righties. Nothing there moves the needle or provides the Guardians that help that they would need if they decide to move Bieber.
Simon Hampton
I agree – but I think if Cleveland does trade Bieber they’d likely look for MLB-ready pieces. So I could see one of the outfielders being included in a deal, but obviously they’d need other pieces too

Colton Cowser–“no reason not to bring him up today”
Is the fact that he’s hurt and hasn’t played this week NOT a good reason?
Simon Hampton
It was more meaning that he’s good enough to be in the big leagues right now, but yea of course they’re not going to call him while he’s dealing with quad tightness
In Seager/Hader We Trust > the 70 MM DH Ohtani
Why do I feel like Texas getting Seager, Garver, and deGrom is bad luck? The Rangers have the 3rd best record in the AL, and yet they still don’t have their best pitcher back. Thr Rangers were 6-0 in his starts. It seems they should make the playoffs and advance a little this year, but that bullpen makes me think they will underperform their Pythagorean win loss record by 10 games and get screwed again. Should I optimistic or realistic, given Chris Young doesn’t really believe in trades (outside of Odorizzi)?

Simon, was it necessary to the chat to take a shot against the city of Cleveland in a baseball chat. Lack of class in my opinion. Not a way to sell this site.

Lighten up, Francis.

I don’t understand the hostility either towards the writer in today’s chat, but I agree with hockeyjohn that Simon’s shot against Cleveland was a little disappointing. Even if you could logically prove that one city is better than another, there was no need for the comparison in the first place.

Everyone here is taking way to much offense. People are aggressively insulting Simon, then gets upset when he fights back
Endersgame
Exactly. Simon provided insightful answers to the questions, and way too many people attacked him for it.

Simon expressing his thoughts and opinions on BASEBALL topics is what I come to read on this site.. Side snide comments on a city, team, or individual are totally unnecessary in my opinion.

Seattle sucks, but Cleveland does suck just a bit more.

Another Yankee pitcher was asked to go wash his hands between innings. What’s up with that? Schmidt was caught sticky handed… Reds manager Bell gets kicked out because he questioned why the Yankee pitcher is allowed to wash his hands and continue pitching.
