FWIW, LAA unloaded $48M (I believe) of Raisel Iglesias’ contract trading him to ATL at the Deadline 2022, and got a prospect (Tucker Davidson) in return.
ATL is praying Ozuna and his $36M remaining has something — anything — left in the tank. He’s looked decent in ST (.321 AVG and 4 XBH in 28 AB; 28% K-rate).

I was upset about that trade (losing Iglesias), but I think maybe the Angels might have gotten away with one.. Tucker is looking good this spring, so we’ll see what he does during the season..

Davidson is out of options and having a solid spring so I’m guessing he’s the Angels SP6 to open the season. Barria will be the long man out of the pen; Canning and Rodriguez will start the season in AAA coming off injury marred seasons.

When Steve was asked about if he thought if any of the KC pitchers would pan out he mentioned Daniel Lynch. I still think that Kris Bubic will have a decent career. He’s the youngest of the top 4 pitchers that KC picked up in the ’18 draft. He was the 2nd to be called up (Singer was the 1st). He’s had mixed results but I still like his upside.

Most of Crawford’s “#1” MVP votes came from sfg homer writers. Baggarly even wrote a post on The Athletic explaining his homerism saying “I wouldn’t have top offensive performers Bryce Harper, Juan Soto or Fernando Tatis Jr. in the first spot. Or even the second spot.”
Jean Matrac
Right, because I’m sure no other players ever get homer votes.
