The NBA trade deadline is just three days away (Thursday at 2:00pm CT), and our sister site Hoops Rumors (@HoopsRumors on Twitter) has all the latest news and rumors for each of the league’s 30 teams!
There was a blockbuster deal on Sunday, with the Nets agreeing to send Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith and draft capital. Irving, an eight-time All-Star point guard, is extremely talented, but has also missed extended time for various reasons in each of the past four seasons. It was definitely a gamble by the Mavs — particularly since Irving is on an expiring contract.
The Suns, Lakers and Clippers all reportedly tried to trade for Irving — will they be able to bolster their rosters ahead of the postseason? What about the defending champion Warriors? Reigning Finals MVP Stephen Curry is out multiple weeks due to partially torn leg ligaments, so their front office will surely be feeling pressure to make moves in order to defend their title.
In the East, everyone is wondering if the Raptors and/or Bulls will become deadline sellers and potentially deal away some of their top players. For Toronto, that includes Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr. and OG Anunoby, while Chicago has a “big three” (DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic) that has mostly disappointed thus far in 2022/23.
For the latest updates on those stories and more, check out Hoops Rumors today! Last season saw a total of 20 in-season trades — including 10 on deadline day alone — and this season could be just as action-packed! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter – @HoopsRumors.

Tis a great site as well! Hoping my Clipps land a back up center. Depth is there to deal. Zubac plays too many minutes l. Wood is a good target. Plumlee is a sleeper. Hated losing Hartenstein, ugh. What about Wall and Kenard and pick to the Suns for Paul?

Not my game.

I wouldn’t mind if there was soccer rumors. Not MLS but European soccer. If you check, there are arguably millions of soccer fans and players in the U.S. English soccer is extremely popular here, along with the other Big Five – France, Spain, Germany and Italy. Something to look in to. I’d be happy to assist you since soccer is my passion (after baseball) and I’ve followed it for years. I also have 27 years of experience writing for the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times the Daily Herald – the three largest dailies in Illinois – as well as several smaller papers.

But the NBA is lame

The sports landscape in the US fascinates me. We all know the NFL is king, but it seems the NBA and MLB still fight for that second tier. The detractors of the MLB say it’s too white / Latino and it’s too slow / boring. The detractors of the NBA say it’s too black and that’s it’s too predictable / boring.
I’m a fan of all three (not a huge hockey fan, but respect the sport and league), but find my interest in the NBA very much waning.
Just like MLB is changing the rules because analytics has almost destroyed the speed and small ball part of the game, the NBA needs to get out of the “drive, kick out to the 3” playbook that happens every possession.

True, I used to love the NBA and watched tons of games and eventually it just got boring. I know that’s weird coming from a baseball fan. Games are too long. I actually like NCAA basketball, the games are short. But that doesn’t sell as much commercial space or stadium food.

Irvin is a great player I’m excited to see. Now, his work ethic is another story.

The NBA game has gotten silly with every play seeking the 3. Crying on every contact, flopping, etc.. Gotta have the stupid rap tunes blaring while bringing the ball up the court. Pathetic waste. NBA Players have, perhaps, the most self inflated view of themselves and their importance. The commissioner is in bed with China. List goes on….
