I forgot to ask… Limburger or the Tigers?
DonOsbourne
I’m plenty old enough to remember peak Rolen and I’d still take Arenado.
vtadave
Not really going out on a limb there.
DonOsbourne
The question was asked in the chat. I just thought I’d weigh in and maybe get a discussion going. Rolen was very good. He was also overshadowed by Pujols and to a lesser degree Edmonds. But all things considered I still like Arenado better.

Why, why, why and………Why is everyone dumping on the A’s having any chance of doing absolutely anything this year?!!! 82-80 this year and my lord they have so much potential. I’m an Irish man living in New York and the A’s are my boys. Baseball and American sports in general are as fickle as they come. Day by day your opinions change. I hope they hit the jackpot with all of their rookies and trades and make it tough for someone else to make the playoffs. I assume, as Americans, you’ll all be A’s fans when they move cities and finally get some money to compete with all the blank Chequers in baseball at the moment

Let me fix that for you: “82-80 in 2025”

Earlier today you said you were an A’s fan in Ireland. You made good time getting to New York City from earlier today to now 🙂 People project and the way things look now for the 2023 A’s, it does not look good. I’ll wager hot wings and cold beers taking the under 🙂

I’ll always admire the A’s for being a team that’s ran extremely well, especially when you factor in their budget. Much like I admire the Rays for the exact same reasons. Honestly, I have to give the Rays a little more credit considering the division they have to compete in.
Even so, that is neither here nor there, I don’t care whether the A’s or the Rays moved to Las Vegas, I’ll NEVER be a fan of any other team than the Atlanta Braves.
I would wager a guess most fans feel that way about their respective favorite teams. The majority of true fans I know were basically either fans from their early childhood or they were born Braves, Red Sox, Yankees, Cubs, White Sox, Phillies fans, etc. The budget their team operates within had little to do with why they’re a fan of their favorite team.
Idk though, maybe people like myself and my friends are in the minority, or are a dieing breed these days lol…Idk..

I too was a red sox fan from where i grew up and kept the team all these years and all across the country. When I wound up in Atlanta in ’09 I adopted them for every game except when boston came to town. It was nice to not just get out to the games, but also watch nl baseball. If you were ever in the left field near the wall at a sox/braves game you probably would’ve recognized us in throwback sox gear… otherwise we ran out braves swag when we hung around the season tix. Passed those on to colleagues when we moved to the coast a few years ago, but, it was nice watching the resurgence and the new stadium being built from our place in east Cobb till we moved.
(Ps, forgive us for attending zephyrs games in New Orleans when they were a Mets affiliate, but, $1 drinks and cheap baseball tickets were too good to pass up)

The A’s are empowered to be bad and not care if a single fan shows up at their ballpark because they receive $100MM+ a year from revenue sharing and national TV contracts. There needs to be significant penalties for consistent users to the system like the A’s.

The exact same questions every freakin’ chat. Either you guys aren’t coming up with anything novel, or Anthony just picks the easy ones he can answer in his sleep.
Fever Pitch Guy
Ignorant – He did provide a good answer on Barnes, I think Tony is decent with his question answering.

When are people going to realize that the Braves have had their 2023 starting SS this entire time, and especially once Ron Washington vouched for him, they NEVER planned on acquiring anyone else…
He’s been a SS his entire professional career, & if he hits like he did last season, the Braves won’t miss Dansby very much. That goes especially for the amount of money he would have cost them. It may be viewed as a mistake later on, but all things considered, for now, Vaughn was the correct move.

How ironic would it be if the White Sox were to replace one former Indian (Guardian wouldn’t be true for these two) accused of domestic violence with another one? It’s hard to say anyone would rush to sign Bauer. He may be forced to play in an independent league for a bit.
Ignorant Son-of-a-b
One place Bauer would catch on for sure is Russia if they had a league. Or South Africa. But the Independent League would definitely not have an open-door policy to that human dumpster atrocity Herr Bauer.

If the trial goes quickly and he does get suspended, perhaps they can still get Wacha, since they won’t have to pay Clevinger during his suspension. Just a faint hope.
