Curly Was The Smart Stooge
Back in the 80’s & 90’s George Brett was the king of the hill. I lived in KC & watching this team rule baseball was a warm feeling. It hasn’t been close since then, & I’m beginning to think it will never be again. I think that’s sad.

Curly;
It went to 2 WS’s in a row.
Dock_Elvis
Yup not sure what you’re talking about with back to back WS appearances.

Hey, this is just a personal thing. Don’t use my name in chats please. I would much rather read the royals chat then have people pretending to be me asking about the Dodgers chat. I know it was easy to use me as an obvious dodger fan on this site.

Are the kc royals hiring a general manager this year and Hoping that we’re trying to be competitive this year

Interesting comments on J.J. Picollo……
What the Royals need badly – particularly in the pitching area – is to get up to speed in both pitching analytics, and the use of video in tracking individuals progress in incorporating up-to-date theories on pitching.
Mr. Picollo has been with the Royals since 2006. There’s no way he’s been exposed to any of that, let alone be responsible for implementing a modern pitching operation.
Mr. Click might be a nice, but it would only be a matter of time before he and Mr. Picollo clashed.
The Royals do have to get up to speed in using technology in MLB, while not losing their edge in stressing fundamental play. Thee organization is light years away…..worse than the White Sox. That will take a very special – and patient – person to oversee. Give me a year or two and maybe I can come up with a candidate.

Must be hard to root for a team where they’ll be losing 90-100 games 28 out of every 30 seasons.

These things go in cycles. Before David “Walmart” Glass took over in 1993, the Royals had never finished last in the division–the only team ever with such a distinction.
That changed quickly under his er, guidance, until they put it together in the last decade.
