Dodgers have already decided they aren’t going to re-sign Trea Turner? That deserves it’s own headline.
Ugh, as a Phillies fan I always cringe to see the name Curtis Mead mentioned. Great to see the kid doing well, just wish he was knocking on our door instead of Tampa’s.
To Darren from the chat, Cleveland is not going to mortgage all of their future for 2 years. That is not what a smart small market team does.
hockey – Darren isn’t the only one who made a foolish comment in the chat.
Baseball “Historean” thinks players from the 1940’s would never survive playing MLB today.
Obviously the reverse is true. In the 1940’s you had guys like Bob Feller throwing more than 371 innings in a season. Now? Nobody has hit 230 IP since Price in 2016.
Back in the 1940’s you didn’t have guys wearing padding and guards covering much of their body, today they wear so much that they hardly feel anything when they are hit on the elbow or shin.
Back in the 1940’s collisions at the plate and on the bases were common. Today there are no-contact rules in effect.
No question today’s players are a lot softer than decades ago.
As usual—- All is quiet in the Cardinals Front Office. The President of Baseball Operations indicated the Cardinals had extra money available and resources (players) available.
Unfortunately we Cardinals Fans have heard that message on an annual basis.
The hope is 1 Impact Hitter & an Ace pitcher.
However—- it wouldn’t surprise me if the Cardinals were to trade Goldy and Arenado….
Marco Gonzales for Edman?
To be fair, all is quiet everywhere. It’s early. Not many teams did anything at all.
Von, everyone is just too expensive these days…1/2 the “Top 50” Free Agents will probably still be free as birds come April.
At least 45 will have signed before Opening Day. It’s an $11B industry. Teams have the money.
Someone asked what would it take to get Jesse Winker from the Mariners?
A half empty bag of Big League Chew would probably do it
Some guy with the name Orioles. I hope he wasn’t insinuating that the Os would try to get him.
My moms best friend’s ex wife’s neighbor. Lol I’m sure it’s true
And once again, I see questions about packaging Acuna to get out of the Ozuna contract. Do people actually watch the games? Before the ACL injury, Acuna was the front runner for MVP. He came back last year at like 60 percent and was still better than some regulars. His contract for the production he can provide is great for the Braves even when his salary jumps. STOP with the trading Acuna people the return wouldn’t even be worth his 13 chain!
$140,000 for a necklace on a man. Lol
Freddie – I hope Acuna is as generous with charities as he is with himself.
I know not all Yankee fans overrate their players, thinking they can get a gem in return, but the stereotype exists. To think Torres as as a centerpiece for Burnes does little to dispel that stereotype.
I asked 3 questions to Mark last night, not one was either posted or answered
Chat is political and a joke
You should have submitted “bees”. That one always gets a response.
Melch – No! This is the first time I can remember when that stupid “bees” thing wasn’t selected, we are all grateful for that. Thank you Mark!!
Judging by your reaction to not getting selected, I think it is quite possible that your questions were downright annoying.
It’s always politics!
