I am a Padres fan and I am shocked to see SD being discussed as a landing spot for Aaron Judge.
I think that would mean they have no money for any other position players.
C: Nola/Campusano
1b: resign Wil Myers for cheap
2b: Jake Cronenworth
SS: Kim
3b: Manny Machado
OF: Tatis/Judge/Soto/Azocar

A lot of people seem to think that because Judge is from California it gives the California teams an edge. If the Padres are willing to outspend everyone else than its absolutely possible, same for the Giants. About the only team you can rule out is the A’s.
I don’t see Judge leaving the Yankees though. I don’t think anyone could fathom a team letting a player leave after the season he had
Balk
There’s quite a few teams out there that are going to make it a tough decision for judge. Giants I’m sure are going to throw the bank at him.
Fever Pitch Guy
Rsox – I know of one team that traded a player who had just hit 59 homers and won MVP.
I still think the Yanks have to keep him, but if some team offers him $360M/9 then I could understand if the Yanks don’t match it.

Ok. To be fair though Stanton didn’t leave as a free agent, he was traded in the greatest gift trade possibly ever. A team like the Marlins would absolutely let a player leave after that type of season but a team like the Yankees should at least be among the highest bidders

Thoughts on Rhys Hoskins at 1B?
Rsox
I think Phillie fans are rougher on Hoskins than necessary. Good power, probably a better DH than 1B (though you could say that about most of the Phillies roster). Only under team control for one more year though and i doubt the Phillies pay big to extend him when Alec Bohm will probably slide across the diamond to replace him
DarkSide830
Hoskins is a fine player, but as you noted, Bohm is more ideal at 1B than 3B, and Hoskins being a poor 1B and having a streaky bat make him a poor fit with this team IMO.

Glad to see your take on the MVP award, Steve. It is an individual performance award and should have nothing to do with team performance. The voters tend to agree considering Ohtani won last year and Trout has won three times.
There’s a team performance award called the World Series Trophy.
Ignorant Son-of-a-b
Can someone please explain the strategy/logic of batting Kyle Schwarber lead-off ?? I mean, he doesn’t even have elite OBP, he doesn’t walk. He is batting .200. To me , with the 47 dingers, has 4 or 5 hole written all over it. Is it merely to get him an extra AB per game ??? (Like they do with Judge & JRod). Thank you.
Holy Cow!
He does walk. That’s why he’s leading off. The Phillies have Harper, Hoskins, Realmuto that can drive in runs.
