I don’t think it’s clearly Julio for the rookie he may have the inside track but Adley has been quite excellent in fact he has been nearly as valuable from a war perspective and it’s impossible to ignore how the O’s took off when he came up. His defense has been elite as well. I think Julio will probably win the award but I don’t think he is clearly the winner and would probably take Adley personally but either would be a good choice.
Fever Pitch Guy
Bruin – Adley doesn’t have the personality or background to beat Julio, and he doesn’t have the Lindor smile.
But I agree with you, Adley is more deserving. He’s a better performer, and plays a much more demanding position. If one of the players gets busted for doping, odds are far less it will be Adley. I would love to have him on my team.

I think Julio wins easily over Adley.

Odds Juan Soto goes back to Washington after 2024?
Holy Cow!
29:1 against.

No chance of him going back to the team that originally took a chance on him, that he won a WS with and that will probably have the #1 farm system in baseball at their disposal when he is a FA?
VonPurpleHayes
I don’t think so. Their ownership situation is a mess right now.
Deleted Userr
But will it be a mess in 2 years?
Fever Pitch Guy
harambe – I can think of 500 million reasons why Soto would sign with the Nats.
Rsox
Someone asked about a realistic trade package for Ohtani being more or less than the Nats got for Soto and obviously steve answered “less”. The Angels missed a golden opportunity to restock the farm in one trade by not trading Ohtani. From now til next July/August (whenever the trade deadline is next year and assuming they don’t trade him over the winter) they now have to hold their breath and pray he doesn’t get injured to have a chance at even getting a Manny Machado type return should they trade him next summer
Fever Pitch Guy
Rsox – Steve was absolutely right about Soto having two more postseasons of team control. But he also should have mentioned another major factor, Soto is 4 years younger than Ohtani.

I don’t think the Cards are going to extend Arenado, or add money to the deal. As great as he has been, they have the ability to call his bluff if he decides to opt out. Take a look at the NL Central. The Cards are favorites to win it next year with or without Arenado. That gives them a lot of leverage.

BTV says his contract is underwater (not by much tho) and they are guaranteed to tag him with the QO if he does opt out. That one will be interesting.

Fantasy baseball question. What is up with Whitt Merrifield? Is it time to drop the guy? Most places still rank his ROS value pretty high but he continues to play every other day and not really producing.
