MLBTR writers don’t have to be insiders to provide great analysis. I think it’s better that they don’t rely on team officials for the stuff they write. Kenny Rosenthal was a MLB mouthpiece 99% of the time and Manfred fired him for one of the few times he split from their opinion.
No one is forced to be here and I think this place does the best job in baseball in staying unbiased and presenting many different views.
Keep up the great work guys.

100% agree. And these live chats are amazing, even if my question isn’t always answered.

95% of the time I’m not able to even ask questions much less get them answered, but still come on to read the transcripts when I get a chance cause the views are very good.

Agree. Unbiased, educated opinions.

Phillies have a plethora of issues, but I think their bullpen woes are greatly exaggerated. They’ve had one of the best pens in the game since Giardi’s firing. I don’t necessarily see that as their need at the deadline. With Eflin’s injury, I think they move to starting pitching acquisition.

What’s up with E-Rod? The Tigers have not heard from him and he doesn’t return calls. Seems like he would at least reach out for some support from his teammates.

Maybe he has, but maybe he’s reached out to his former teammates in Boston or around the league. He’s only been in Detroit for a hot minute so who knows what his relationships are like on the team. Either way, personal issues or whatever the case no communication from or his agent to the team is not a good look, especially not in the first year of a long term contract

Someone asked if the Marlins should dip in to their starting pitching depth to add an Outfielder. The Marlins two biggest areas of depth is starting pitchers and corner Outfielders, the only reason to trade from either strength is if they can finally plug the hole that’s been in CF since they traded Starling Marte last season. CF is a horrendous depth position league wide so other than maybe Ramon Laureano or Michael Taylor the only other options may not be better than what is already in house

I’ve only had maybe 3 questions answered and 2 of them weren’t related to baseball.
I forgot who was doing the chat but I asked what his walk up music would be. He answered Prince – Partynan

Nan? A partying grandmother?

Prince.
