How bout them Mariners?
Jesse says hi, Los Angeles.
Jesse is an emotional player, a New Yorker. I am not surprised at all. I am just glad that JP didn’t break his hand after those vicious hammer throws lol
angelsfan4life
After three straight pitches at Trouts head last night, someone getting hit in the butt should not surprise anyone. But Winker getting suspended, will help the Mariners lineup.
californiaangels
Vicious ? He weighs 150lbs, no one felt those
JeffreyChungus
Not sure why he’s praising Winker. He talked a big game then got pushed by one-handed Rendon and just kinda balled up and waited by the fence while he let everyone else get into a shoving match. Not a good look for the 4th place Seattle Mariners
NWMarinerHawk
How did you get “praising Winker” out of my post? Lol
“Defending?” Maybe. Also, don’t forget Julio getting thrown at the inning before and Upton getting drilled in the head last week.
You should consider all the facts before you go talking out of your bung.
Fever Pitch Guy
I agree, definitely not a good look.
And does anybody else wonder if all the stupid chat questions like “cereal or milk”, “Humpty Dumpty”, etc are inside setup questions the host came up with as filler? Or maybe from a friend or relative of the host?
I feel bad for all the people with legit baseball questions that the host “couldn’t get to”.
NWMarinerHawk
You guys are strange. I made a smart ass, lament about a wild brawl. Then, responded with smart ass comments to other smart ass comments. You have somehow successfully over analyzed it into a psychology class. Congrats!
Holy poop
NWMarinerHawk
Lol. You guys.
Tell me more about how hard JP punches. Do you know from personal experience? There’s many 150 pounders out there who could knock your clock out there, bud

I understand that it’s a “Trade Rumors” site, but teams that succeed do it by squaring away their players, not by making trades for every weakness they have.
The Phillies coaching staff has done a remarkable job this year fixing many of their bullpen pitchers. Alvarado just finished his 5th straight appearance – 5-2/3 innings of coming in and not given up a run (I thought that would have been impossible). He did give up a hit, but before that the Phillies bullpen had retired 34 straight batters.
I still think the Phillies sell at the deadline, but their coaching staff has done a great job working with their pre-season perceived shortcomings at CF, SS and 3B – along with the bullpen. Successful teams don’t need a All-Star at each position on the Depth Chart. They need players that can contribute to the team winning each game. If the Phillies can keep playing solid baseball then maybe Harper and Segura can get back to contribute in September.
Drew Waters Bat
I still have the Ken Griffey Slugfest. To good of a baseball game. You could trade on the game. It was funny when the game would reject your trade. 2 or 3 change outs of the same trade then boom, trade complete. Matter fact, gonna hook it up tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me.

9:25 Does Holmes stay as closer when Chapman returns?
Mark P
9:25 Yes. Holmes has done nothing but inspire confidence, and the Yankees want to win.
—————
No. Boone over the past couple weeks has answered that he plans to deploy Holmes as his “Swiss-army knife” reliever, using him in the highest-leverage situations. He’ll still get save opportunities, but 80% of those will go to Chapman, and that’s the way it should be. Holmes will take over as their closer full time in 2023, but not before.
You Can Put It In The Books
Holmes has been great, but lockdown closets are hard to come by and relievers are volatile from year to year. Don’t be surprised if/when Holmes returns to mediocrity next year. See: Loaisiga, Jonathan.

The Jays definitely are not trading Alejandro Kirk. I know alot of Jays fans are delusional but come on now, I’d put Kirk right up there with Moreno ad untouchable right about now. If anyone goes it’ll be Jansen and it’s most likely an offseason move because they’ll be of great benefit to a vet catcher for the long haul/post season. You can’t teach experience. They’ll get a haul for Jano though in their own right when the time comes though but yeah you cannot trade Kirk, that crap from Jays fans needs to stop now. I get the need for SP and bullpen help but they can get it without touching Kirk. Shapiro and Atkins aren’t stupid.
Samuel
Shapiro has never been very good with pitchers. So I figured that the pitching results the Jays got in 2021 was an aberration….especially with Robbie Ray. The ballyhooed trade for Jose Berrios seemed odd – he’s always been inconsistent. Figured the Jays were due to pull back in 2022. Pitching is a prerequisite to being a legitimate contender.
A Catchers primary function is to handle a staff and call a game. Jansen is the Jays best at that. But Shapiro wants hitting at all positions, and will give that up to get a bat behind the plate. Always has.
Atkins was a pitcher with Cleveland.

Jansen will not fetch “a haul”. Far from it.
