I don’t know about players traded and then traded back, but four players have been traded for themselves. Harry Chiti was the first. He was traded for a PTBNL, and he was the player named later.

There’s a reason why successful, high class men and women spend their primary years building their family and networking in areas of the country outside of the wretched south. Senior citizens only retire to the south because it’s cheap, it’s warm, and since they’re established they don’t need to associate with the despicable locals if they don’t want to.
