Today’s minor moves from around baseball…
- Alex Dickerson cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to the Braves’ Triple-A affiliate. Dickerson was designated for assignment on Thursday, and as a veteran with more than five years of Major League service time, he had the right to reject an outright assignment to the minors. Instead, Dickerson has opted to remain in Atlanta’s organization and try to get on track in Gwinnett after a dismal start to the season — the outfielder has only four hits and a .407 OPS over his first 36 plate appearances. In making the big league roster, Dickerson locked in a $1MM guaranteed salary on the minor league contract he signed with Atlanta in March.

Dickerson must have realized he was only getting a minor league contract if he became a free agent so might as well stay with the Braves

Just go down there and focus on making contact. Rediscover the art of hitting. Keep it simple.

Speaking of minor league transactions, the Yankees and Milb.com have recently gone public with the news that Tyler Lyons was placed on the Scranton-Wilkes-Barre restricted list as of April 8, 2022. Will we ever know the circumstances that warranted such a placement, and the circumstances to come that might warrant a return to active minor league play for Tyler Lyons?

Tyler Lyons is a 34 year old pitcher now who hasn’t been good in about 5 years. I wouldn’t worry to much about it.

He was actually hitting the ball fairly hard, just wasn’t clearing or dropping.

At this point I don’t care who it is. This team needs to hit. What you are going to get in the rotation is up in the air so this lineup needs to hit. Also, you can’t strike out 10 plus times a game. This NY series is crucial they better not get bullied by Mets because those dudes are mashing.
