Please, Hammer. Don't hurt 'em.
Why don’t they announce who the player chat will be in advance? I’m sure it would have increased site traffic if people knew in advance they could chat with Chipper Jones.

Tim answered this in comment when I asked the same thing on the chipper page. Chipper only answered 5% of questions asked and they don’t want it more chaotic

And also: What “off-the-field issues exist between Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil?” I haven’t heard anything about that.
Before I forget: WTF is “steamed ham?” It sounds gross. Why wouldn’t you just fry it? Steaming ham sounds like one of the grossest ways to cook it. It’s not Lobster or Crab. It sounds like it would make it spongy. Who wants spongy ham?

Lindor choked him out.
Literally just google “Lindor McNeil.” There’s dozens of articles about this.

“Steamed Hams” is a Simpson reference.

A steamed ham is what Principal Skinner from the Simpsons called a simple hamburger.

McNeil has a sketchy clubhouse reputation. He’s had some issues with teammates, which no doubt led to the altercation with Lindor as well as that odd racoon/rat incident. Beyond that, he’s also pushed back on the Mets regarding use of platoons. I don’t see McNeill meshing well with Showalter. Decent chance he’s traded.

Oh, man. This sounds interesting. What was the raccoon/rat incident? I didn’t know McNeil was this much of a personality issue. Also, Lindor probably shouldn’t be choking and people. Ozuna almost caught 20 years for that.
VonPurpleHayes
I wonder how many of these rumors are true and how many were spread after the Lindor altercation, because obviously Lindor is going to be one of the Mets key guys for years to come. Some of this seems like shifting blame; throwing McNeil under the bus to save Lindor.

Hammer- Google “rat racoon.” It’s easy to find the story.

this. also I wonder.if these two care anymore about something as stupid as that. petulant children…

For the life of me I don’t understand why COL would have an untouchable. Marquez has been decent in a hitter’s park, and is controllable for next 3 years (with affordable option), but 108 ERA+ last 2 full seasons, and they should have the worst offense in 2022 they’ve had in awhile. Those trade offers aren’t going to get any better when Marquez will be sporting a .250 winning pct (playing mostly LAD, SD, SF) with close to a 4.00 FiP and making close to 10M/per.
casualatlfan
Your mistake is trying to assume that Colorado’s front office and ownership will be logical about anything despite evidence to the contrary.
RunDMC
Yeah, it’s not even my team and between letting Story go for a comp pick, Gray for not even that, and Marquez just depreciating, it’s tough to watch.
Feels like a calf wallowing in quicksand with the buzzards circling. If your kids don’t learn the hard lessons of life from Nat Geo, good luck to ’em.

@casual is right. The Rockies have no idea what they are doing. They can’t even figure out the direction their team is headed. Neither can Arizona. I’ve never seen a division with 3 teams that could be so great and 2 teams that run the organization totally backwards.
The Giants and Dodgers are great teams but I don’t care what anyone says. Those regular season records were padded by 38 games against the Diamondbacks and Rockies. Unlike Arizona and Colorado at least Baltimore and Pittsburgh know they are losers right now. They at least are setting their payroll up so they could spend when it matters.
I’m worried about the direction of the White Sox. QOing Rodon was a no brainer. Way to give away high draft picks South Side. It always bugs me when organizations blatantly mismanage their teams.
Arizona should be used to this though. First Grienke. Then Shelby Miller. Then Madison Bumgarner. Now they have the worst record in baseball while being in the toughest division and they want to pretend they don’t need a rebuild. I feel bad for Arizona fans. Just reminisce on the Big Unit/Curt Schilling days. They were great back then.

I commend Mike Hazen and the rest of Arizona’s FO & ownership for trying to build a contending team without tanking for years and years. Instead, using their brain-power to build on the fly through all means at their disposal, trades, waiver claims, strategic FA signings, etc.
They already have a top 5-10 farm, they don’t need to tank for draft money. They instead will do the aforementioned and insert their dynamic prospects over the next few years, and or trade prospects for controlled talent.
Hazen has already rostered a contender in ‘19 with this formula. He’s a very smart executive and I love his approach.
PhanaticDuck26
agreed: Hazen knows what’s up…probably one of the best GMs out there…let’s see if he can get a great haul for Marte and shed the MadBum deal

Regarding Epstein and the HOF, being the GM who ended two championship droughts shouldn’t be worth more than another GM winning two championships. Why should Epstein get additional credit for taking over two teams that had been historically run poorly?
duffys cliff
Right or wrong, when history looks back on GMs of this era, someone like Epstein will be held in higher regard for playing a huge role in ending two of the most famous droughts in sports history, then a GM like Dombrowski who on paper is just as successful…but didn’t leave the same huge mark on the game that Epstein has.
RobM
I don’t have an issue if he makes the HoF. Was more a comment regarding if those championships should be counted more. BTW I suspect Dombrowski will be elected one day too.
duffys cliff
I don’t know if they necessarily should be counted more, but they certainly will.
And I couldn’t agree more about Dombrowski. What he did in with the Marlins in a short time was amazing. He took some terrible Tigers teams and built them into perennial contenders. And he took a Red Sox team that had 2 awful years, to a great team, to maybe the greatest Red Sox team ever. He deserves a place in Cooperstown.
Jean Matrac
I think you’re minimizing how tough it was to take over not just one team, but two teams with a history of losing and bring back a title. Having lived in Boston for awhile I saw a clear sense of fatalism when it came to the Sox. You make it sound as if these teams didn’t care about winning a WS. But think about the 86 and 108 year droughts for Boston and Chicago, and how many GMs tried to win. How many PS appearances ended in disappointment.
I agree that it’s mostly about a guy winning titles with two different teams, when it’s hard enough to do it with one team, but to do it with those two particular teams has to be a factor.

Instead of getting a loan, I got my already programmed blank ATM card to withdraw a maximum of $5,000 daily for 1 years.
I am so happy about this because i got mine last week and I have used it to get $50,000.
Mrs Raina is giving out the card just to help the poor and needy though it is illegal but
it is something nice and she is not like other people pretending to have the blank ATM cards.
And no one gets caught when using the card. get yours from her i fully recommend her.
