Suzuki says bye to Carp. Boston here he comes? Reported to be his top pick:

Please, Hammer. Don't hurt 'em.
Well… That article is in Japanese so I can’t tell if that’s what is says or not. If true, I would say the BoSox become the favorite to sign him for sure. Reports are they are interested so if that’s his first choice another team would have to outbid hard to get him. It’s surprising, though. A lot of Japanese and other Asian league players want to play on the West coast to be closer to their family and friends. I can’t think of a MLB city further away from Japan than Boston. Maybe Toronto? Boston is still probably farther.
I guess you could say he is picking them because he wants to win but other teams are a better choice in that regard, too. Boston plays in the toughest division in baseball. They didn’t make the World Series or even win their division last year. I would have thought he preferred a team closer to home that has an easier shot at winning like the Giants, Dodgers or maybe even Mariners.

Well if he has to go by who won last year, it narrows his choices quite a bit.

Anthony, I guess you were wrong on Ortiz getting in the HOF……

In the chat one post categorize the angels as contenders. I thought that was funny
Steve Nebraska
They are contenders right now. They aren’t favored but the season hasn’t started yet so it could happen. Ohtani should pitch more innings next season. Syndergaard could pitch well. Sandoval looked great when he pitched last season. If Trout and Rendon stay healthy anything can happen. Adell and Marsh could reach their potential. Even Upton could have a slightly better season if he puts extra effort in for a contract year. The season hasn’t started yet. A lot of teams are contenders. The Angels are one of them. They aren’t favorites but they are contenders.

I’m honestly tired of the Willson Contreras trade talks. It might make sense if Amaya wasn’t out for the season recovering from TJS. With signing Gomes as a backup they can split time behind the dish.

Anthony your batting average is pretty weak.
Jean Matrac
I think Anthony’s partially correct about why pitchers lose their ability to hit, but I think there’s more to it. It can’t be just better pitching. Position players in HS also see a big jump in velocity when moving up to higher levels.
Teams usually want guys, who were 2-way players in HS, to concentrate on just one. No amount of BP is going to compare to in-game pitching. If a guy is a SP he’s only facing live pitching every 5th day. There’s no way to maintain hitting skills unless you’re seeing live pitching on a more regular basis.
