Bro, someone is using my name for the chat! If you are gonna cop a name then at least ask a good question
The Mets "Missed WAR"
Lol. Someone used to do that all the time with Rangers29. I’m not sure why they do it unless they are just asking a bad question on purpose to try and make you look stupid. You never know with these internet folks. It’s probably just MF22.
bravesiowafan
Def Seems that way with a stupid Mets question
The Mets "Missed WAR"
So who should the Braves rather face in the NLCS if they had to choose? Giants on the road or Dodgers at home? I love home field advantage but to be honest the Dodgers scare me more as a Braves fan. At this point the Giants and Dodgers have the exact same number if wins. The Braves lost to the Dodgers in the NLCS last season and lost to the Dodgers late in the regular season this year. The Braves took 2 out of 3 from the Giants on the road late in the season when everyone said they were the best team in baseball. I think the only Giants pitcher that could beat the Braves, even in San Francisco, was former Brave Alex Wood. But… As a Braves fan I also want the Braves organization to make the extra few million dollars they will earn by having 1 or 2 extra home games. That means more money to spend next season. I can’t decide!! Take the home field advantage against a team that scares me more or play on the road against a team that has a better record when both teams will be favored to beat us anyway?? If the Braves are going to get knocked off anyway it’s better to get the extra home games. If the Braves are going to win anyway it’s better to get the extra home games. If the Braves are going to win against the Giants and lose against the Dodgers it’s better to make it to the World Series. The Giants scare me a little less than the Dodgers. Who do I root for tonight?? Help me choose!

Giants all day long, dodgers have thrashed us time and time again

Ready Braves fans. Dodgers comin in hot

The Mets “Missed WAR”:
You’ve got your facts wrong. The Braves took 2 out of 3 at home in late August. The Giants took 2 out of 3 in SF in mid-September.
Fever Pitch Guy
Steve, I knew it wasn’t you after seeing he messed up the very first word. He’s too lazy to even look at the ONE sentence that he typed!
ThisIsTheYear
Steve Adams doesn’t accept good questions, just the ones where he can drone on for an hour and not say anything substantial. The guy is a hack and should be fired.

Please complain more about free chats with MLB professional writers 🙂
1984wasntamanual
MLB professional writers?
tstats
Would you not consider them professionals? And they write about the happenings of the MLB no? Sure my wording may have been off, does professional baseball writers immersed in the happenings of the MLB suit you better?

So many fans going to be disappointed at the great Mets offseason.
bravesiowafan
162-0 next year I’m sure your already calling it
MetsFan22
No but definitely better than you guys… can’t count on the better team falling with injuries and underperforming players every year…. Not to mention Riley season and Albies and role players overperfomed for you guys…
Rsox
The Braves are in the NLCS with no Ronald Acuna, no Mike Soroka, and no Marcell Ozuna. Thats three major pieces. They were a game under .500 at the trade deadline and were 5 games behind the Mets. The Braves just have a much better talent level than the Mets who played above their heads to open the season
The Mets "Missed WAR"
MF22: Don’t worry. All of us other fans are realistic. We know your team is going to lead the league in “Missed WAR” once again. You don’t have to rub it in our faces. I’m sure the Mets are going to get much better once you join the team and become “the Juan Soto of pitching” because you “throw gas.” Between all that mWAR the Mets are going to have and you being the Juan Soto of pitching for them there is no doubt in my mind your Mets will win you yet another make believe theoretical fake championship. We’re all rooting for you, buddy.
MetsFan22
Lol nice joke… the Mets injuries just didn’t exist???
The Mets "Missed WAR"
Who said that? I just said you guys were gonna lead the league in mWAR and win a fake championship again, didn’t I? Man… You try to pay a guy a compliment these days. Of course the Mets injuries existed. They were the only injuries that existed. No other team had any injuries and no other team has had to deal with injuries on their roster before… ever. Just the Mets. That’s why they get to win the fake championship while the other teams will just have to settle for a real championship.

lol over performed is a salty way to say you’re jealous.

Interesting move by the Dodgers. One of those smart moves but you know they’ll catch some heat if it backfires.
One way that it can backfire is if Knebel starts issuing some free passes as he has a much higher walk rate than Urias. Giants have batters that grind at bats.
Dodgers were probably a little bit concerned in facing Webb straight up against Urias. It was probably a 50/50 game or slightly less favorable for the Dodgers if Webb pitches the way he pitched in game 1. They think opening with Knebel forces the Giants hand a bit and gives them the edge now. Giants have to determine if they still go mostly righty knowing Urias is entering game either second or third inning. Or throw in some lefty bats to face Knebel at the expense of less favorable match up against Urias. Chess match indeed.
Cap & Crunch
I like the move tbh, but yea if it backfires Roberts will hear it…Gotta respect he’s still moving forward with it. I think its the right play
I think we see Graterol or Vesia in the 2nd as well depending on lefty/righty batters coming up in hopes of getting a pinch hitter first time thru for the pitcher spot (Probably Beaty) (Not that Urias cant swing it himself!)
If the plan is just 1 inn then straight to Urias I wonder if it makes sense to bat Knebl 6th or 7th for that pinch hitter?
Interesting chess game tho…would be pretty cool if SF still stacked all righties then Roberts came out and went Knebel Kelley Graterol for the first combined 3-4 inns ish …..
What a game we have in store, what a game…its already started!
mlbdodgerfan2015
Wow Cap. You’re going even more out of the box. I like it but the analysts will say Dodgers are getting too cute. Go with what works. No matter the pitching situation the Dodgers need better ABs and runs against Webb who has been very effective against the Dodgers all season.
Cap & Crunch
Yup 2015 you are correct…it’s really on the bats tonight-
The pitching is there A-Z and ready…Anything can happen but it won’t be a lack of options from our side so that’s all we can ask
I embrace that we don’t sink to conventional wisdom. It stems from Upper management supporting Dave (and lets be honest involved ) in the choices so if they do backfire he can feel safe in his job. Many coaches don’t have that luxury and have only 1 lane to travel safely
Just a gut feeling but I think we see someone other than Julio Urias in the 2nd inning tonight. My guess would be Graterol
mlbdodgerfan2015
Are the Dodgers going to run out of reliable relievers? Thought Urias should have gone at least 5. Jansen next. Joe Kelly one? Scherzer may have to come in for an inning. No runner at second base in extra innings.
Cap & Crunch
Whew …wow…I thought they should have double switched w Blake (and have him go 2 ) , still think they should have, but can’t argue with the result . Lux hit was pivotal and he would have been the one pulled most likely
Really love the experience Lux is getting right now. Can help us navigate the offseason with greater precision
mlbdodgerfan2015
You the man Cap. Good call on Graterol. Urias will come in the third. Dodgers get to pinch hit 9th spot. Now they just need to get some runs. Overall they laid off the off speed pitches outside of zone except for Lux. Better approach but still same results. Unlucky on Trea double play and Seager bullet to left.
Rsox
If the Dodgers win the series you point to Kapler’s decision to start Anthony DeSclafani in game 4 knowing DeSclafani has struggled all season against the Dodgers. If the Dodgers lose no matter how it happens everyone will point to Roberts choice to start Knebel in place of Urias. It will just go down as another example of Dave Roberts “I’ll see your stupid decision and raise you an even stupider decision” style of managing
allweatherfan
DeSclafani tossed 6 shutout in his final start against the Dodgers in the regular season. Starting him wasn’t a stupid decision.
Angels & NL West
Is this Roberts decision or the FO? I suspect the FO recommended the idea to Roberts. At the very least, the FO was involved in the decision-making process and signed off on it.
Cap & Crunch
Most definitely a collaboration , prolly more heavily leaning towards upper management. They probably have about 4 or 5 27 out routes planned right now pending how the first inning goes
But that’s super healthy Imo…I assume more than a few upper managements prefer to hide and then fire if things go sideways then put there own face on the bill
Sadface
This has been a great series no matter who wins, but it’s a shame the teams with the two best records in baseball are not at least playing in the NLCS. That’s why baseball’s post season need to be overhauled again. Teams in the same division should not play each other in the first round, like they did when the division series and wild cards started. But I’m still on favor of no divisions best 4 to 8 teams in the playoffs. My team the Braves would be seated 5th and playing the Cardinals.
RunDMC
If LAD didn’t beat STL in the wild card playoff, they wouldn’t have been playing an interdivisional foe. Who cares about regular season record if you didn’t win your division? You wanna an advantage for coming in 2nd place…? lol. The first 3 teams to clinch (CHW, MIL, TB) all are already watching from their couches. Maybe we overvalue lineups on paper and regular season records rather than who is left standing at the end of the marathon that is a full MLB season, including playoffs.
MasterShake
I think we can just exclude all central division winners from postseason play they have a combined 2 wins total in the last 2 years I believe.
Sadface
So NLCS is set with the Dodgers beating the Giants in game 5. Hats off to the Giants. Best record in baseball this year, but that doesn’t always matter in the playoffs. Hopefully the Braves can get past the Dodgers this year. I don’t care who they play from the AL as long as they get to the World Series. It would be their first appearance in the series since 1999.
spitball
Come on Steve! “Two best teams in baseball”??? By my count both LAD and SF played 2/3 of their games against teams under .500. On the other hand the Rays played 2/3 of their games against teams 20 games over .500. Rays were easily the best team in the regular season, they just ran into a buzzsaw in the ALDS.
