The latest minor moves from around the baseball world…
- The Giants outrighted left-hander Conner Menez to Triple-A, NBC Sports Bay Area’s Alex Pavlovic tweets. Menez cleared waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The southpaw has seen action in each of the last three big league seasons, posting a 4.04 ERA over 42 1/3 career innings. He’ll now remain in the organization as an extra arm, though the Giants bullpen is already pretty deep in left-handed pitching options.

The Giants starting pitching is imploding….the inevitable Collapse has begun. LOL

You really have to give the guy some credit; he’s been consistent all season long.
foppert
He is not a “guy”. Got to be a little boy, or a teenage schoolgirl.
Monkey’s Uncle
True, but they should at least try to be good at it.

In case you haven’t noticed, your Padres pitching has already imploded. 8 games back in the lost column and counting. It’s like a nightmare.
jints1
No one picked him up. Surprising. I would think he’s got more potential than S. Anderson.
Monkey’s Uncle
I’m a bit surprised Menez didn’t get claimed. Random fact I learned from his Baseball Reference page: Menez’s grandfather is Bill Plummer, who was Johnny Bench’s backup at catcher for the Reds through much of the 70s. Talk about a thankless job, Plummer barely got 100 at bats some years.

No one ever wants to have to call the plumber…
ABCD
Cashed some nice postseason checks.

The Giants starting pitching might implode, but the Padres and Dodgers starting rotation has ALREADY imploded. Even their bullpen. They spent a lot of millions and look where they are.
amk1920
Buehler and Scherzer are better than any 2 pitchers the Giants have.

Yes, so what?
amk1920
So the Dodgers rotation is unlikely to “implode” going forward. Its more like they don’t have a #5 starter right now.
claude raymond
Clearly the Dodger starters are better BUT what does 1-12 in extra innings say about their bullpen? The bullpen is clearly their current weakness. Padres? Melancon is the closer. So good bullpens are critical and SF has the best.

I’m surprised (and happy) Menez wasn’t picked up by anyone. Still think he has some upside.
Haight&Ashbury
for sure, you’re not alone in your surprise. the roster will be very interesting to watch in the next few weeks to come. is our starting pitching going to “figure it out”, how much longer does Dickerson stays on the roster/ duggar stay in aaa? etc etc.
Pete'sView
I do not understand how Gabe keeps running Dickerson out—even batting him fourth. Enough is enough, especially with much better options.
