1:11pm: NJ.com’s Brendan Kuty also hears the Yankees are shopping Voit, however he adds that they’ve yet to receive much interest.
July 30, 12:33pm: The Yankees are “looking to trade” Voit, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand reports (Twitter link). Newly acquired Anthony Rizzo is slotting in at first base over him for the remainder of the season, and the Yankees can look to add a shortstop this winter, moving Gleyber Torres to second base and DJ LeMahieu to first base.
July 29: Luke Voit’s name has come up in trade discussions the Yankees are having with various teams, reports the YES Network’s Jack Curry (via Twitter). Voit is currently on the injured list with a bone bruise in his knee, but he’s nearing a return to the active roster.
It’s been an injury-marred season for 30-year-old Voit, who missed the first month-plus after undergoing surgery to repair a meniscus tear and then quickly landed back on the injured list with an oblique strain. This is his third IL stint of the year, and that trio of maladies has combined to limit him to 29 games and 122 plate appearances.
Voit got out to a slow start when he initially returned from knee surgery, but he was hitting quite well prior to his most recent knee troubles. In 17 games and 72 plate appearances from June 22 through July 11, Voit slashed at a .281/.361/.453 clip with a pair of homers, three doubles and a triple. That’s still a far cry from Voit’s powerhouse showing in 2020’s shortened slate of games. He appeared in 56 of the Yankees’ 60 contests last summer, hitting .277/.338/.610 and pacing all of Major League Baseball with 22 home runs.
When he’s at his best, Voit is a force to be reckoned with at the plate, but some of the Yankees’ recent dealings and rumored targets call his fit with the lineup into question. New York, for instance, has been repeatedly linked to Rockies shortstop Trevor Story in recent days. MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand tweeted not long ago, in fact, that the Yankees’ interest in adding Story is quite real. However, acquiring Story would likely necessitate sliding Gleyber Torres to second base, thus pushing DJ LeMahieu to first base, where Voit is traditionally stationed. The presence of Joey Gallo, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton crowds the DH scene, and if New York’s reported interest in Kyle Schwarber manifests in a trade, that would only further muddy Voit’s role.
Voit is playing the 2021 season on a $4.7MM salary and will be due a raise in arbitration this winter. The lack of playing time and diminished production from his injuries will curb his earning power to an extent, but it’s fair to expect his salary to climb north of $6MM. He’s a Super Two player, so he’ll be eligible for arbitration in each of the next three offseasons before reaching free agency upon the conclusion of the 2024 campaign.
Lol three team deal, Voit goes somewhere which trades prospects to San Diego which trades Hosmer to the Yankees. You know they want him, he and his contract fit right in there
There is no way the Yankees take Hosmer with their payroll goals.
Yeah but it’s the Yankees… you can’t really expect anything except for way too high payroll
You clearly haven’t been paying attention the past ten years. I’ve got news for you, George is dead.
So there’s that, @(Doesn’t like the Cubs).
Hey.
Ya know what else you can expect? That the Yanks will always be good. Even in a down year, we are right in the thick of the postseason picture.
God, I love being a Yankee fan.
Agreed
New to baseball and how the current Yankees operate?
I just your name on here. Hate the hates. I will absolutely watch every Rizzo AB as possible. 2 for 3 tonight with single and a homer. And a walk. You be very grateful for him.
Wouldn’t take Hosmer even if he was free.
And SD paid every cent.
Yankees can’t even afford the appetizer at dinner right now. What makes you think they want a trash hitter who’s making a boat load
They’re eating $3 steaks at a buffet.
@billybaggins, it more like a $30 ribeye at a Texas steakhouse…for free
That’s for everyone on the 2016 cubs. They’ll eat for free forever.
@StudWinfield
With some waffle fries. FO FREE.
even with the lol at the front of this the editor’s should not have let this comment through.
I’m sorry Tigers fan. Hope your team has luck at some point
we are already better… check out the Pistons too… Lions my father in law saw them win the NFL title in 1957… A long long wait..
If it wants for his contract ,I believe Hosmer would fit in well in that stadium, plus slot of people tend to forget how well Hosmer plays 1st base, with the infielders the yanks got especially at Ss ,hosmer would save alot of errors and extra runs. On top of that he is a true Clubhouse leader which helps out as well as all of his playoff experience.
@The Baseball Fan (Doesn’t like the Cubs)
They just acquired Anthony Rizzo, with the Cubbies paying his entire salary. The notion that they’d add Hosmer and his bloated salary is absurd. They need a pitcher, not three first basemen.
bold idea: Phillies trade Hoskins to NYY to give them a less injury prone 1B (not Voit in return)
Yankees are looking for lefties or high end talent. Why get Hoskins when voit is the same player with more success over the past 2 years.
because he’s less of an injury risk
Isn’t Anthony Rizzo a Yankee now? They kind of have 1B covered.
Two words: Milwaukee Brewers
One word: Yes
Zero words:
Yes sir I could see Voit there , they like them big burly Hr type hitters, if voit could stay healthy playing in milwaukee damn the Hr,s and production would be insane
They just picked up Tellez who is (or was last time I checked) killing it.
Moving Gleyber off SS has to be worth a few wins by itself.
Nah he’s actually been pretty solid at short since the first month of the season
I’d be okay with Voit as part of a return for Story. It’d be fun to watch him hit in Coors.
@hiflew- I definitely think you have something. I see Voit as a piece for Trevor Story and Jon Gray. Kevin Alcantra, Deivi or Luis Gil both interest the Rockies. Sorry, @Ducky Buckin Fent- I know that’s your guy.
Yeah I figured it would be more than one player on both sides. I don’t know the Yanks farm that well, but I know a lot of the bottom half of the top 20 went to Texas yesterday. Where would Deivi or Luis Gil rank in their system?
@hiflew- Deivi is rated #3 and Gil is rated at #5. I can see a match for Jon Gray or Jose Berrios. I would rather have Gray. I definitely see a match with the Rockies with Voit and Story. The Yankees could always add a prospect or 2 for Colorado.
We good, Y-4-L75.
It’s going to be hard to find a guy who can wear a jersey so fashionably. But, if he’s part of a deal for Story – or any trade that improves us – I’m all for it.
I can definitely see Voit being part of a trade this summer. Love the guy & how he has played for us. But I’ve seen a lot of my favorite Yankees leave over the years, starting with Micky Rivers.
After Rino trade I can’t see Story coming to NY unless it’s the Mets. Gray is another “story”
Story hasn’t been that good this year, below Gleyber and his arm velocity is down for some reason!
Voit to the Mariners they need a first baseman…
I’d be open to that if they are just giving him away
@hllywdjff- unfortunately, the Yankees can’t trade with a team that they are going to fight for a wild card with. So Seattle and Oakland are both out for Voit. It’s got to be some other team.
Well tell that to our idiot general manager that traded our best reliever to the team we’re trying to beat in the division lol
No chance they are going to catch the Astros in the division, they did good getting Toro.
I get the frustration with the Graveman deal. But the Mariner’s GM may be more a bit more pragmatic than you.
We traded Adam Warren to Seattle in ’18.
No idea what the Mariners would have that we could use though.
I can confirm the mariners have decided not to be in competition until next year.. just like we say every July.
Mariners should be on the phone with NG from Miami and prying Aguilar away from them.
You can have brandon belt
idk why theyre so hyped to move Voit, he;s a good clubhouse guy and making DJLM a full time 1B would be a waste of his defensive value (which is important since his O has gone off a cliff this year).. if they need to move Gleyber off short, better to move him to a new team in the offseason and keep DJ at 2B
If we’ve learned anything this year about this Yankees, it’s that their analytics people refuse to let intangibles or traditional metrics disabuse them of their approach.
Hoy Park: tears up AAA pitching
Yankees: refuse to call him up and then trade him, believing that his skills couldn’t possibly translate to the bigs, and aren’t willing to let him try.
And if they squeak into the playoffs this year as a second wild card, they’ll pat themselves on the back and convince themselves that what they need is more of the same.
Hoy not on Pitt’s 26 man either. So there’s that
Cardinals won the Voit trade
Who did they get?
Giovanny Gallegos and Chasen Shreve
Lol… you tell yourself that one bud.
There really isn’t just a singular winner or loser. Both teams won. Yankees got a power-hitting 1B, Cardinals got a highly competent relief pitcher.
Cards got a highly competent relief pitcher in Shreve ???? He’s been traded 2x already with a 4.00 era….
Gallegos is a stud. Voit can’t really play defense. But let’s not be silly here…..
Voit,Frazier and a pitching prospect to the Cubs for Rizzo
At first that sounds like something the Cubs would not do but maybe. I think it would depend on the pitching prospect(s). If it is Medina and/or Gomez it might get it done. Frazier’s value is down but it allows the Cubs to get guys who can help in the now and in the near future.
If I am the Cubs, I do that all day. Cubs need bodies, next year looks rough. But pitching. Cubs *need* pitching
Everyone always mentioning Frazier or Anduar for a big trade whenever the yankees trade talks start lol, there stock is way down (enough is enough). Are they tradable sure everyone is but maybe for them you would get a low level prospect or two. But dont get me wrong though if Frazier was In the right setting and got out of his own head I believe he would be a above average MlB pmayer for quite a few years.
Here’s a trade idea:
Stanton and 50 million bucks plus Voit to the Padres. Hosmer back to Royals where Pads send 25 mill. Yanks send Andujar and one top 20 prospect and Padres send another prospect to the Royals. Royals send Yanks Benitendi.
The Yankees could eat Stanton’s entire contract and he’d still be stuck in NY owing to his no-trade clause and his desire to be in NY.
A couple other good teams made offers to the Marlins for him but he basically refused to be traded to anyone except NYY.
NY or LA. I understand his voiding the St Louis deal. I’m sorry but that town is a pit. I’m not sure why he said no to San Francisco though. They have won more championships the past decade than the Yankees and Dodgers combined. Plus I have never heard anyone that lives there say anything bad about San Francisco. Place looks alright from al of the Dirty Harry movies.
Trade / give away Stanton ! This guy is K at 40% of AB this season and his swing looks terrible – moving parts ! Package him with Frazier, Andújar and whatever and get a SS! Put Gleyber at 2nd & DJ at 1st. Enough of the big K guys
Sorry dude, but your team just got another big K guy.
Another K guy who plays great defense, leads the league in walks, who has a high ob%, and by the way an OPS of close to ..900. Did I mention lefty power?
Ah, yes. The three Yankees that all teams are in on.
Stanton has a NTC. Why doesn’t everybody know that by now.
Yankeeman. agree 100%. Trade Stanton and eat 2/3 of his salary. That would be addition by subtraction. Going to round here but I believe that would be saving $10M a year??? Amazing huh. Stanton looks like he is asleep up there. Zero energy ;level…I cannot remember ever seeing a power guy of his magnitude swing at so many sliders 2 feet off the plate.. Then simply and calmly walk back to the dugout a if he is saying to himself….”no biggie, I’m making $185k per game anyway no matter what I am doing””!! You can see barely decent pitchers throw to him with no fear when he has 2 strikes on him……
Rizzo to the Yankees for (insert bloated fantasy deal) in return. Which probably includes Voit and a best case scenario of Sanchez as well. Playing for a former catcher as a manager might do him some good..
Playing for Girardi made him turn on Joe and bad mouth him to the front office. Sanchez is a paycheck player who doesn’t enjoy the game. He will have a crazy year next year cause it’s his contract year. He will then hold out for $100m and turn back into a pumpkin after he gets it.
Rizzo for Voigt and prospects
What prospects? Why would the cubs want a DH and downgrade by a lot at 1st.
Seeing as Rizzo is a free agent at the end of the year, what difference does a “downgrade” make? Voit would still be on the Cubs next year, Rizzo won’t be anyway.
The team acquiring Voit better have a strong medical, training, and rehab staff to. handle his large case load. Probably need to have a lot organizational depth at first base as well. Other than that, he would be a great add to any team for those few games he plays…
It is so strange to see the Yankees turn into the late 70’s/early 80’s Red Sox. Ok starters with a ton of big sluggers with stone gloves, for the most part.
This is all Cashman’s “potential” but injury prone players he has collected when healthy yes they are good I mean Luke, Judge, Stanton, Hicks, Severino, Kluber & Britton all guys that the back of their baseball cards screams I’m brittle yet Cashman has invested in them heavily that it has become such a detriment that he can’t mask the real reason anymore this team has underachieved and that is potential can only take you so far when you are healthy and these guys you never can count on them to remain healthy. With the exception of Judge whom gets hurt his share fair deal as well at least he has performed with great production can’t say the same for the rest.
As for why go after Rizzo he is a good clubhouse guy, good glove at 1B and contact hitter and is a ballplayer one that knows the game and when put in a situation to execute he does.
Cashman blew it last year had the chance at the winter meetings to get it done with Luke, Hicks and others but as always is as hard headed as a mule with his head up his asset.
Just was stated Rizzo & Bryant pulled from the lineup so could be either Rizzo to Boston or Yankees & Bryant to SD as rumored all along.
Meant to say Bryant to SF not SD.
Who do the Yankees trade have they don’t really have anybody of Great trade value other than DJ LeMahieu because Stanton is not going anywhere No one want to take the contract Aaron Judge is hurt to much so his trade value is very low Gary Sanchez is terrible Gleyber Torres Is a terrible defender and not a very good hitter And their farm system is pretty depleted
I think we will be surprised to where Rizzo gets traded, possibly Sea,Milwaukee as they also need A first basemen badly.
Dumb…. Yanks are just a bunch of chronically injured giants that can hit the ball a mile but limb their way up to the plate
@bravesfan- you sound like a fan of a team that can’t beat the Mutts this year?
Or still feeling Salty over the Yankees beating them in the World Series. lol
Voit has been absolute hot garbage ever since he made that BMW Commercial talking about hitting home runs!!
With the addition of Gallo they have added at least 40 HR’s and another 200 strikeouts to their lineup for next season
How does one “limb their way to the plate”? Exactly?
one limb at a time, I guess
Don’t all players use two limbs to make their way up to the plate?
Yes.
But they “walk”. As opposed to “limb”. Well…that is the term I’ve always used.
Nobody’s interested.
They need some defense, the Rays have two touchdowns.
Mr. Foreign Substance having a tough day.
Obviously you are interested. Or else why be here posting?
Bad games happen.
Took the series from them. Guess we’ll just have to live with that, uh?
Man.
All you Yankee “haters” who watch every game we play & bring your crap to every Yankee article get so old, man.
Don’t you have a…wtf?, Guardians – or whatever the hell they are now – thread to go whine on?
@whyhayzee
Remember what Glasnow angrily blamed when he hurt himself — that he couldn’t use what he was accustomed to using to grip the ball? But let’s point fingers at Cole like the Rays’ hypocritical announcers did today while conveniently forgetting about Glasnow.
@whyhayzee
BTW, having just traded for the leader in Defensive Runs Saved should help with that defense problem you mentioned.
Ah.
You seem unfamiliar with @whyhazee, @Person.
Any thread – no matter what team it’s about – is an excuse for him to trash our players, ownership, management, history, etc…& yeah us Yankee fans on the board, as well.
Typically, he makes very little actual sense (see above) but it obviously brings great meaning to his life.
Yeah. I don’t get it either.
Nope, not familiar with him, and, to quote a certain yuletide miser in my favorite movie: “… and I wish the pleasure had been indefinitely postponed.”
The second best team in New York has given up more runs than they’ve scored. They insist on fielding a team of oversized lugs who constantly get injured and underperform. Joey Gallo has a BMI of 29.6, he is obese. Players with BMI over 25 are significantly more at health risk, that’s a simple medical fact. Why they think he’s going to make a difference on this mediocre team that has spent the entire season “turning it around” only to still be 5 games over .500 is beyond comprehension. They just don’t get it. Remember Mariano, Jeter, Bernie, etc. from their last decent team? Athletes, great athletes, with BMI all below 25. Healthy, productive, clutch. This team is none of those things.
Really, they stink.
There you go again with the BMI stuff. It’s not an end all, be all for an athlete’s full physical composition. There are other components to take into context. It’s like using only batting average to judge a player.
You’re still using BMI to rip on the Yanks?
Laughable, idiotic, unfounded, & nonsensical.
But you already know that.
Go find an Indians thread – or whatever scrubass team you root for – & complain about them.
Screw off, man.
Myself & all the Yankee guys on the board are so sick of you & your asinine crap, serious.
Good chance Yanks’ll be in the postseason & Cleveland will be embarking on a rebuild. Have fun losing 100 games/year.
Meanwhile, we will still be fielding good teams.
Gosh.
I feel better now. Thanks.
Anytime. I have a weird affinity for Bucky Dent, we lived in the same town and my best friend was a yankee fan, and so it goes. I think of him every day.
Whyhayzee = Y A Z
My grandparents knew his parents. My first real sports hero. So it’s really cool to see Mike playing.
The quest to identify injury risk factors in sports has been an ongoing and well-researched field in the world of sports medicine. Knowing some of these factors helps keep sports participation safe. Both intrinsic and extrinsic factors have been studied. Body mass index (BMI) is widely known to contribute to several medical conditions. Its association with some sports injuries has been established but the information is vast, with few studies that are randomized controlled trials. It is important to analyze these studies and confirm whether BMI is a predictor of lower-extremity injuries. Such knowledge allows for better effective treatment and prevention strategies.
Clearly, you have no idea what “obese” means.
You’re right, obese is BMI over 30. Over 25 is overweight. I misspoke. Thanks for the correction. I’ve been around and played multiple sports with Division 1 athletes as well as professionals into my sixties. Baseball, basketball, soccer, swimming, marathons, ultramarathons, friends from various branches of the military, to name a few. I know a thing or two about fitness. I only speak of what I know, you won’t hear me talk about hunting or dance or golf or knitting or organic chemistry or building and fixing stuff, the list goes on and on. I only know what I know. Fitness? Jazz? Mathematics? Pretty strong in those areas. Thanks for your input because I messed it up.
Bucky, you can do as you please, but I wouldn’t waste my time. I love having conversation with my Red Sox and Met fan friends, those who are true baseball fans and not just fanboys and trolls. They exist.
Yeah, for sure. @Lordd99.
For example, @Joe Brady is a red sox fan & he’s one of my favorite posters on the board.
whyhayzee
You think you’re an expert in the field of BMI calculation, but clearly you’re not. You omit the most basic factor — the ratio of muscle to fat.
Gallo is an elite athlete. If he were some couch potato standing 6′ 5″ and weighing 250, he’d be overweight. One need only look at the man to know that your characterization is nonsensical.
When Arnold Schwarzenegger won the Mr. Universe title in 1968, his BMI was 32.6. Arnold was obese?
Hopefully you know more about jazz and math.
1:11pm: NJ.com’s Brendan Kuty also hears the Yankees are shopping Voit, however he adds that they’ve yet to receive much interest.
Really? Who would have thought that. I guess I got this one right. Well I’m about 1 out of 100 now.
Mr. Universe? He poses. That’s not terribly athletic. Could he run a 5K without pulling a muscle? Doubt it. Yes, Gallo is an elite athlete but you miss my point. I’m talking simply about an increased probability of injury. That’s the math part. Now let me go practice Au Privave, next up on the music stand.
I can’t see Voit being all that valuable since he hasn’t been able to stay on the field. Maybe as a throw in, but not a central piece
I can see him being valuable to a team needing a DH who can play first base part-time. The durability issue definitely sinks his value quite a bit.
I love all the pitchers the Yankees are acquiring———oh, they aren’t trading for pitchers? I love all the 1st baseman and DH’s they are acquiring! Sorry, you can’t bash and mash your way to the championship. You need to get people out. That Stanton contract is just going to kill you all the next 7 years. It’s AROID contract on Steroids!
*Paging David Stearns*
An upgrade at 1B and/or platoon with Tellez against southpaws.
Should be affordable next season & potentially a LT solution at 1B through 2024.
Opportunity for Voit to stick it to a former employer who traded him to NYY (12 games remaining vs STL this season).
…also, with the Universal DH likely coming next year, acquiring someone like Voit will give an NL team both a 1B and DH option before that market heats up and becomes more expensive during the off season.
Why are they sending it out like it is a new story.
Voit had a 143 OPS+ from 2018-2020, and is still only 30 with three more years of control. He’ll definitely help some team looking for a bat. He’d absolutely crush in Colorado, as one example. Problem is teams don’t value 1B’man with his skill set like they used to. The return will likely be underwhelming. If I’m in the Yankees boat here, and the MLB return being offered is not great, I might look to target some minor league lottery ticket types, particularly since they just moved some of their own prospect base in the Gallo and Rizzo deals..
I don’t think it’s a given that Voit gets traded. They still need a 1B next season if Rizzo walks which is highly likely. The main issue is Voit has nowhere to play this season and takes up a roster spot. Best case scenario is that they 60-day IL him with his bummed knee but he’s not hurt enough.
Here’s what they should do, but won’t. They mistakenly turned Stanton into a full-time DH, even though he was a solid RFer, believing that will keep him healthier. No. He became more injury prone when he became a full-time DH and sat around a half hour between ABs. Put Stanton back out in RF. Gallo in center. Judge in LF. Judge is a very good defensive OFer, so I’d put him in the tougher LF at Yankee Stadium and give Stanton the field where he’s more comfortable. Gardner can then be the late-inning defensive replacement. That opens up DH for Voit and an even stronger offense.
They won’t do this though out of fear, even though Stanton played 159 games for the Marlins in 2017 as a regular OFer, and then 158 games for the Yankees in 2018., split evenly between DH and OF. In fairness, ramping up from zero OF games to regular OF play would a challenge, but they created this situation. They have an opportunity to fix it.
…and it appears he wasn’t, unless they’re very slow in announcing. Maybe they’ll give the Stanton-in-the-OF idea a shot. If he gets injured, then they still have Voit’s bat at DH.
Weird to see Stanton in LF again.. He got a few easy putouts so far. No way he fields back-to=back games.
Ah yes the oft injured, defensive liability who looks to have been aided greatly by the juiced ball to inflate his numbers. Can’t wait to see which team the Yankees manage to get a top prospect out of because they for sure will find some sucker.
defense stinks, but 2020 wasn’t simply a product of the juiced ball. when healthy, he’s legit
Voit to BoSox. He’s always a pain when he plays them (when hes healthy). Fixes both teams issues. BoSox give them Richards in return…
You really think the Red Sox and Yankees would make a trade together at the trade deadline?
Very Unlikely, but Sox need a 1st baseman and Voit is being made available. It also means he’s not batting against us. Won’t happen, but it’s fun to throw out there.
Schwarber is likely going to see some reps at 1B as well as LF/DH
…no, but it would help the Red Sox and hurt the Yankees, so that might be swaying his opinion.
He’ll no. He’ll trip running to the field and end up on the IL.
Keep Voit! He led the league in bombs last year! Put Stanton back out in left and if he gets hurt so be it. It’s a risk worth taking!
I want to see a LeMahieu, Rizzo, Judge, Stanton, Gallo, Voit, Sanchez, Torres, Urshela lineup!
Lol that would be so fun and I’m not even a Yankees fan. Gallo can play center and Stanton will be meh in left but no worse than Andujar. Voit DH.
Come on!! Let’s get this! 14 K’s a game, 8 walks, four homers. Hahaha YESSSSS!!
No more Brett Gardner or Ryan LaMarre combo please! We want more homers!
You got your wish!
But… but… but… Voit is the best middle of the lineup hitter… the yankees stole him…
Now the yankees cant give him.away. lol
He’s a first baseman. They’re worth nothing unless they’re perennial all-star level.
LOL
Long shot but maybe Yankees get seager for voit
I’d assume you mean Kyle? But I would do that from the M’s side
i’d love to see the Tigers pick him up. He’d fit in well with their rebuild
For the record, the parks he’s hit better at than at Yankee stadium, min 20 PA are: Angels, Mariners, Orioles and Red Sox. Honestly he could also fit on any of those teams as either 1B or DH.
Angels and Orioles sure as heck don’t need a first baseman.
Don’t do it Twins
Wait are teams actually willing to give up players for Voit to sit on their IL????
Heres a trade idea:
Voit, Chapman, Andujar, and a prospect such as Albert Abreu to Milwaukee for Josh Hader!
Boom it’s out there for the world to see!
really hope he stays. even if they shed his salary i don’t see a pitcher left on the board that would move the needle without going over the yankees’ self-imposed cap. logjams have a way of working themselves out. if they trade voit, stanton’s reaction to the news will be to pull an oblique
Teams want to add to their injured lists?
Could keep him, Voit DH, Stanton LF, Gallo CF.
It’s not only the player’s fault Yanks can”t hit with men on base, it is the hitting coaches(Thames & PJ) jobs to identify the problems they are having. Yanks not able to hit with men on has been a problem since middle of last year. Should look for new batting coaches.
I’m with you 100%, I’ve been saying this for 2-3 years. Too many K’s, not enough hits to the opposite field, they are too pull happy, Gleybors swing is a mess and I want to believe he’s a talented hitter, same with Sanchez and Stanton.Even DJ has regressed. Need a better hitting coach, NOW !!!
I’d love to see them keep Voit, it would be nice to alternate Voit, Stanton, and Rizzo between DH and 1st Base. Also give the outfield a rest with Stanton, maybe we’ll see, before season ends ,Stanton get hot again. Lineup
D.J. 2nd
Judge outfield
Rizzo 1st
Voit. DH
Gallo OUTFIELD
Sanchez C
Geo 3RD
Gleybor SS
Gardy or Allen OUTFIELD
