Really tired of how much gambling is pushed across so many sectors of society.
junkmale
I didn’t win a damn penny filling out an NCAA tournament bracket. I sincerely doubt I’d win a penny choosing all the wrong teams and players for opening day.
prov356
It’s disappointing that MLBTR would partner with a gambling site.

waah waah who cares

I can explain the principle to you, but I can’t understand it for you.

Gotta keep the lights on. Don’t dig it? Don’t click it.
RunDMC
Is it gambling when your entry is free? Sure, they’ll give you a taste, but you know the risk. You’re Big Boi.

You’re entitled to that opinion of course, but we’ve done various DFS-type ads dating back more than a decade and it has seemed fine.

I paid $30 for an “ad-free” subscription. But here is an advertisement blended in with the other copy. Seems like something is not on the square, Tom.
Tim Dierkes
That is entirely valid!
When this sponsored ad possibility came up, I tasked our developer with creating something that will allow us to exclude these posts for logged-in users on the website and in the app. It’s close to being done but not quite there yet, so I did not activate it in this case.
I am hopeful this will be the only sponsored post that made it through to subscribers. But, if you’d like a refund just drop me a line and I’ll be happy to do it.
Tim Dierkes
Update! I am now able to successfully hide sponsored posts on the website (desktop or mobile) for logged-in subscribers, and it’s working properly on this post. The post will still be visible if you have the direct link somehow, but otherwise you won’t see it.
The part that remains to be done is hiding it within the Trade Rumors app.

Tim, thanks for he update! I’m on the app now, have a subscription , and am interested signing up for in the contest when I’m at my laptop later today. You saved me some time searching for it later. Thank you

That’s okay Tom. Just fire Steve Adams and we’ll call it square.
Tim Dierkes
Who’s Tom?
paddyo furnichuh
Tim, people calling you Tom may just be having MySpace flashbacks.
paddyo furnichuh
Though I think ThisIsTheYear may have been commenting facetiously.
paddyo furnichuh
This whole comment thread seems more rhombus than square .

Awesome. Signing up right away. Love me some sports betting.

When did Nike become a bookie? Does this explain the Michael Jordan gambling suspension conspiracy theory?

The swoosh is gone

Hey, it’s opening day and free to enter. Lighten up and have some fun today with nothing to lose except 5 minutes of your time. Unsubscribe from the gambling site tomorrow if you wish, but the clicks generate a little revenue for the site. I don’t generally gamble, but it was pretty easy to sign up and hit a few over/under clicks. Happy ⚾️ is back! Go Crew!

Tim – does this mean no more draftkings contests?
whyhayzee
I don’t play fancy baseball but what happens if you have Mets and Reds players for today’s games? I mean, I guess it’s like a rain out. Maybe it doesn’t matter at all? But like I said, I don’t play fancy baseball. But I do remember when Stuart Bidder invented it.
