I wondered why no one was talking bad about the Mets and than I looked at the standings lol.
RunDMC
Just like NY sportstalk radio, no one cares about the Mets. A last-place NYY team gets more airtime than a first place Mets team. Sorry Jan. True hurts like a football to the face.
MetsFan22
Braves fans really taking about attention lol. My day is made.
bhambrave
RunDMC is right.
RunDMC
That Mets offense making Pivetta look like someone PHI shouldn’t have given up on, while they spoil another deGem. Glad to see nothing has changed headed for under-.500. Mets hold on 1st place about as solid as your grips on reality.
MetsFan22
Enjoy first while you have it. You won’t much of this year.
bhambrave
“Enjoy first while you have it. You won’t much of this year.”
Yeah, those Marlins look pretty good.

@MetsFan
Thanks for taking Lindor. I wasn’t sure if we could find an organization dumb enough to give us much more for him but the Mets never disappoint.
BobGibsonFan
You could build a decent team out of what the mets traded for cano and Lindor. I wonder if lindor will play as much as cano has?
flmetfan
Well, b’ gosh, I care about the Mets. In fact, I predict deGrom tosses a perfect game tonight and strikes out 27! Whew! Am I sleep trolling?
ABCD
It’s Marcia, Marcia, Marcia not Jan. Didn’t Trejo and Buscemi teach you that?
flmetfan
Was it a football to the face or a baseball? Marcia?
Samuel
Yes, the Mets are burning it up with that 9-9 record. Fans of other teams are jealous of their prowess.
While the NLE may be the most competitive division in MLB, it it justifiably the most overrated. I had the Phillies 1st and Marlins 3rd for the year. While it’s early, I’m thinking the Marlins could well finish 1st or 2nd. They actually have a deep pitching roster with more coming, and play strong fundamental baseball. Don’t ever bet against Derek Jeter in the long run. If not this year, then next.
paddyo furnichuh
Samuel, it sounds like you’re betting against the Braves.
BobGibsonFan
.500 team… a little better than expected.
drasco036
I’d be willing to bet dollars to donuts that if the Cubs would be willing to take Sanchez off the Yankees hands if the Yankees were willing to meet the Cubs asking price for Contreras.
If Hoyer was a smart man, he would re-up with Bryant and Rizzo at the end of the season, rebuild the roster with the heart in tact and a potential lead off hitter (Hoerner) locked up for the long haul.
A'sfaninUK
The Yankees don’t have enough to get Contreras, unless they put Judge on the table.
drasco036
Dominguez is more than enough for Contreras however, a package of Garcia, Medina and Alcantara would get the ball rolling.
jorge78
Will the Cubs be spending money then?
A'sfaninUK
I think an NBA-style draft lottery would be better, and make it so all the non-playoff teams get entered in the lottery, so even if you just missed the playoffs, you could still get the #1 pick. Would certainly scare off teams from tanking and being the worst team just to get the #20 pick or whatever.
Samuel
That’s a great idea! But don’t stop there……
All teams need to stop doing that rebuilding thing.
By the way, which 3-4 teams are currently trying to lose the most games this year? I’m sure many want to follow their progress.
jorge78
Man, Steve sure shut down
Analytics Schmanalytics!
I didn’t know he had it in him!
Good times!
Jean Matrac
jorge78:
Agreed. It’s one thing to not believe in analytics so much, but to ignore basic stats, and then be so condescending. It makes me think he got what he deserved.
Plus, it’s not smart to tick off the chat host. He will always get the last word.
petersdylan36
Anyone catch that awful call in the Brewers game today.
Seriously one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen in my whole life
ludafish
Ugh the stupid foot interference call? That can be the right call ya know…. Unless by the time the contact was made the ball was in the first basemans mitt already. It seems like all the umps got together this year and just said F It. We are already bar at our jobs let’s just keep being bad and getting paid.
