I don’t see a team other than dodgers who could “compete” with the Mets in a 7 game series. You think anyone beating degrom game 1-4-7???
Braves, Nats, Phillies, Padres. I think the Mets are definitely better than Nats and Phils, but they can certainly lose to them.
Well yeah. If it was basketball I would disagree with you. But in baseball upsets happen all the time and those teams could beat the Mets. They have good teams.
Lmao ok
First of all its 1-5. By game 7 he would be super tired especially in the playoffs and if he doesn’t do that in RS. Also saying that stuff can easily back fire. Baseball is weird. Everyone chose Astros over Nats, who won same with Dodgers. I could see Mets do that but why say that. Your heart will be broken, I’ve had that feeling in 2017. Confidence is good but these statement are not smart
Baseball is wired but I’ll bet my house this isn’t the 2017 team
I was talking about my Nats being beat by the Cubs when I easilt thought they would win. Ik the Mets aren’t the 2017 team lol.
Oh ok yeah.
I meant game 1 game 4 and game 7.
Mets will not be a WC game. They’ll win division.
So? lets say you sweep a division series. Degrom goes game 1 in the NLCS. His next start would be game 5 because game 4 is only 3 days rest. He could do that but by game 7 he would be way to tired and be shelled unless he goes 1 inning. Now a days pitchers go 3 games in 7 game series. WC or not
When is the last time someone went 3-0 in a World Series. Seldom. First I remember was Lew Burdette in 57’
Um… game 1,5 and 7. Mets aren’t going to be competing in a WC game.
4*
@MetsFan22 You’re misunderstanding his comment. He is saying a single pitcher pitcher rarely goes 3-0 in a 7-game World Series.
Oh yeah my bad. Thanks. True. I’m saying degrom would go 2-1 at least and the rest of the staff would only need to go 2-2
Yankeefan, good question. Not sure, but I feel like Gibson in ’67 and Lolich in ’68 may have done it. Im anxious to hear others that may have accomplished the feat that I have forgotten.
Gibson and Lolich and didn’t Randy Johnson win three in the WS of 2001?
It’s only happened 12 times with the most recent being Gibson in 67.
Lolich was 3-0 in 1968 and Randy Johnson was 3-0 in 2001
Ohh man. You’re totally right. Thanks for the correction.
That 2001 WS was a real great week of beisbol !
2001 is my favorite World Series nt involving teams I root for. Such a classic.
You could almost count MadBum in 2014. he started game 1, game 4 and then went what 4 it 5 innings in game 7?
Hot take: Mets miss the playoffs
@ MetsFan22
DeGrom’s average season record is 11 or 12 and 8. So he gets beat almost as often as he wins. This is not going to change in the playoffs.
It’s not necessarily his fault, but every pitcher gets beaten regularly.
I think Lee Burdette went 3-0 in the ‘57 World Series.
really disappointed in your lack of Shakespeare in your response
I’m pretty sure Yankeefan remembers correctly: Lee Burdette went 3-0 for the Braves in the ‘57 World Series.

Does fielding matter any longer? It appears that the White Sox have no intention of moving Tim Anderson to the outfield and finding a decent fielding shortstop. Hit over .300 and you can use a brick for a glove?
It’s almost like you can look this stuff up in seconds. Yes, Burdette went 3-0 in the ’57 World Series.

Can’t imagine anyone picking DC over Marvel. Especially now with the success of the films, the Marvel universe is just way too strong.
