The latest minor moves from around the sport…
- The Tigers announced that left-hander Robbie Ross, right-hander Andrew Moore, first baseman Aderlin Rodriguez and infielder Yariel Gonzalez have all been signed to minor league deals. Ross is the most familiar name of the group, posting a 3.83 ERA over 321 2/3 innings as a workhorse member of the Rangers and Red Sox bullpens from 2012-16 (also starting 12 games with Texas in 2014). After an injury-riddled 2017, however, Ross hasn’t returned to the majors, pitching in the White Sox farm system and then independent ball. Moore is the only other member of the quartet with MLB experience, as he tossed 63 2/3 innings for the Mariners (posting a 5.51 ERA) over parts of the 2017 and 2019 seasons.

Not heard about Robbie Ross for some time. He was a very effective lefty for a cpl years.. mid 90’s fb, good curve.. Seems like had an impingement, or something like that wrong with his arm one spring and never was same again. Just lost it. Came out of nowhere to be good and then returned to nowhere.

Oof Andrew Moore is so bad, he definitely didn’t have any MLB pitches when he was with seattle.

He pitched well for Oregon State. I was a little surprised to see him struggle when he came up in 2017 considering he also pitched well in the minors. Saying that, it’s never good when a ‘control pitcher’ can’t find the K-zone.

Robbie Ross is one of those guys that you vaguely remember but is just stored in the back of your memory until he is brought up in a Minor League Transactions thread like this

Aderlin Rodriguez has been bouncing around the minors for what seems like forever.

Id love to see Ross get another shot

Lefty relievers can pretty much pitch forever if they want to. Ask Tony Fossas, Terry Mulholland, Jeff Fassero, Jesse Orosco…
