Yeah it would be crazy, but then it would be crazy for the Indians to trade Ramirez for anything less. It’s one of those trade scenarios that’s simply about assigning value, with no chance of it happening.
Ramirez is better than Flaherty…so it would take him or Carlson plus more.
Unless the Cardinals are willing to take someone else in a salary dump as well….and the Cards are not likely to take on series payroll so that is unlikely.
Ramirez is less controllable then Flaherty. better? yeah probably, but the Cards arent close enough to make a move like that. within the years they have remaining I’d expect Flaherty to provide more total value over the life of his contract.

Plus teams that relied on attendance aren’t spending much.
Whoever gets Lindor will probably get a steal.
