The Yankees are selecting four players to their 40-man roster, per a club announcement. Right-handers Roansy Contreras, Yoendrys Gomez and Alexander Vizcaino are being selected, as is infielder Oswald Peraza.
Contereas, Gomez, and Vizcaino have all yet to reach Double-A, but each ranks among New York’s top 20 farmhands at MLB.com. The same is true of Peraza, who hit .273/.348/.333 in Low-A in 2019. The well-regarded defensive shortstop is MLB.com’s fourth-ranked Yankee prospect.
Does anyone know how to pronounce Roansy or Yoendrys? Is it ROAN-ZEE (as in in JOAN-ZEE) or RO-AN-ZEE? YO-EN-DREES, or YO-EN-DRISS??
Row-AHN-see and Yo-EHN-drees is how I believe they are pronounced.
Thanks!
Peraza looks like he could crack the Yankees’ lineup in 2-3 years, so I’m not sure they go after Lindor this year. I can see bringing back LeMahieu on a 3-4 year deal, and then eventually sliding Torres to 2B in 2024.
If Jeter didn’t gift Stanton to you guys, you’d have more than enough money to sign Realmuto, who you really need over Sanchez.
Stanton is a much better hitter than Realmuto and the Yankees could easily get a better catcher.
So the Yankees can easily get a better catcher than the guy who is considered the best catcher in MLB?
Wow! Yankees must have some super skills and some magic to create a catcher better than the best catcher. Why are they wasting time with Sanchez then?
