The Dodgers have outrighted outfielder Terrance Gore to Triple-A, according to the MLB.com transactions page. This is the second time Gore has been removed from the 40-man roster this season, having previously been outrighted back in August.
Gore signed a minor league deal with L.A. back in February and made the team’s Opening Day roster, but appeared in only two games before being designated for assignment. There was some speculation that the Dodgers could use Gore as a pinch-running specialist during the playoffs (as the Royals did with Gore in both 2014 and 2015), but he was never included on a postseason roster.
Gore has now appeared in parts of seven Major League seasons, primarily as a pinch-runner and late-game defensive substitute. Through 102 career games with the Dodgers, Cubs, and Royals, Gore has only 77 plate appearances, 58 of them coming with Kansas City in 2019.

It was intresting that the Dodgers carried Matt Beaty instead of Gore in the playoffs. Beatty did not have any postseason ABs.
Bochys Retirement Fund
Well Beaty can actually hit a baseball
Blue_Painted_Dreams_LA
I mean he had three PA, 2HBPs and a walk.
FredMcGriff for the HOF
I don’t know why this guy hasn’t got more of a chance to play besides 2019 when he actually got some at bats. This guy would probably steal 100 bases if he got a decent amount of at bats. I for one love the base stealers.
mlb1225
And he had a .362 OBP in 2019. That’s like a guarenteed extra base hit 36.2% of the time.
Blue_Painted_Dreams_LA
Because he can’t hit so it’s hard to try to extrapolate a 60 PA season and point to it as though it’s a norm. It’s Billy Hamilton like, except Hamilton provides you substantial defensive value which Gored doesn’t.
SoCalGrinch
“… but he was never included on a postseason roster.”
IIRC, Gore was on the WC and NLDS rosters.
BlueSkies_LA
Only the NLDS roster but you are correct in pointing out that the statement in the article that he was never included isn’t correct.
Jables
Yeah, Gore was on the first two postseason rosters, but didn’t make it into a game. And Beaty had 3 plate appearances in the LCS, getting on base each time.
whyhayzee
He’d be waterproof if he played in the Rangers.
racosun
Gets a ring though.
hiflew
So can just about every MLB player. Rings can be purchased by anyone, especially people with large salaries like MLB players..
fred-3
Where did all the Padres fans go that were saying the Dodgers would choke?
BlueSkies_LA
I dunno, but some crows have also gone missing.
fred-3
Maybe they learned their lesson. I don’t even hate the Padres and would probably root for them if they ever made a World Series vs the AL, but the amount of trash their fans were talking… you can tell they’d rather see the Dodgers lose than the Padres succeed
BlueSkies_LA
The Padres will be the top competition in the division for the next few seasons. The Padres finally having an ownership that is making a real effort is good for the division and good for baseball. Trash talking is something I have never understood.
lowtalker1
Dodgers are awful and only got a 1/3 of a ring. If this were a full season, chokeshaw would have been in full effect
hiflew
The Dodgers didn’t choke, they just got lucky that the Braves choked.
gbs42
Yes, because good teams never lose to other good teams three games in a row. Oh, wait…
lowtalker1
That series was fixed in favor of the dodgers

Captain Dunsel
I guess 2020 wasn’t his party, Leslie.
LordD99
Trying to figure another compare for Gore. He’s well known by most baseball fans, has appeared in seven seasons, and has been actively pursued by teams for the postseason, but rarely plays. 77 PAs over parts of seven seasons, while only accumulating 2 years of service time.
Monkey’s Uncle
Matt “The Scat” Alexander with the Pirates in the late 1970s
puigpower
World Champion again. Is that two for Gore?
Joggin’George
Just another guy who proves that all the speed in the world doesn’t make you a baseball player if it’s all you can do.
gbs42
You can’t steal first base.
Monkey’s Uncle
Lloyd McClendon did once.
oscar gamble
Good one connfyoozed.
DodgerNation
Isn’t a dropped 3rd strike technically stealing first?
gbs42
It’s technically advancing on a passed ball or wild pitch.
ABCD
I was hoping Gore could do that in the 2018 NL Wild Card game.
He pinch ran for Rizzo in the 8th, stole 2nd and scored on a Baez hit.
Then he whiffed a couple times in extra innings.
