How unreal is it that the baseball season may be over in 2 more games?
bhambrave
It feels like it just started a couple of months ago.
RunDMC
Hamels is almost ready to make his debut…
Yankee Clipper
Wait, so you’re trying to say that there was baseball this year?
K3vin
I hope they talk about Linder.
MasterShake
And Cohen and the Mets
GoLandCrabs
How would baseball NOT get 162 games in next year? They got games going in this hectic environment. With 5 months of a head start and ways to curb the virus coming, they will certainly get a full season in 2021. Plus the schedule is already out. It will take something crazy for Manfred to cancel them.
VegasSDfan
Depends on if they can have fans
UnknownPoster
It’s economics. If there are zero fans at all or 25% capacity as we’ve seen in WS maximum, teams will struggle to pay their players 100% of their salaries while still missing the majority of their game day revenue
GoLandCrabs
MLB doesn’t heavily rely on fans for revenue. They have massive TV deals though not as big as the NFL. Besides fans in even the most restrictive states will be allowed by next April.
UnknownPoster
That’s just massively incorrect GLC
You just said it, their tv deals are smaller than the NFL. Where do you think the other revenue comes from?
You may not believe STL’s exec’s comment that they make 70% of their revenue on game day, fine. But to say they don’t rely heavily on fans for revenue is laughably wrong
LordD99
MLB’s national TV contracts are big, but not as massive as the NFL’s, but they also local TV contracts, and many have RSNs that feed significant revenue through advertising that require…games.
bhambrave
Plus, traveling and distancing on the road for a full season will cause headaches.
GoLandCrabs
That wasnt an issue this season once they established protocol.
Yankee Clipper
Fans will be permitted back in the seats once it affects players’ salaries.
UnknownPoster
The CDC doesn’t give a crap about player salaries

Teams continuing to pitch to Arozarena this postseason continues to be one of the most bewildering things I’ve seen in any recent postseason.
No one else in that line-up is any sort of consistent offensive threat.
UnknownPoster
I’ve yelled this many many times at my TV over the last 5 days lol
