The Astros are starting Zack Greinke in Wednesday’s AL Championship Series Game 4 against the Rays, manager Dusty Baker announced to reporters (including Brian McTaggart of MLB.com). The veteran’s most recent appearance came on Thursday, so he’ll be working on an extra day of rest.
Greinke has been dealing with some arm trouble over the past couple weeks, so Houston elected to turn to Framber Valdez, Lance McCullers Jr. and José Urquidy over the series’ first three games. As long as he was healthy enough to take the ball, Greinke was guaranteed at least one start this week regardless.
Houston will hope the 36-year-old won’t have to start facing elimination. The top-seeded Rays have jumped out to a 2-0 series lead and likely have Tyler Glasnow in reserve for Game 4, making tomorrow’s contest a near must-win for the Astros.

I can see Baker telling his decision to Greinke and Maldonado, but of what benefit to the Astros is it to announce the decision to the world? If anything I think it’s a slight benefit to the Rays. Seriously, why should the Rays know the Astros’ next three starters well in advance?

Greinke will be trying to add to his Hall of Fame resume. It’s impressive that he has adapted now that he has a fastball that tops out in the high 80s. It will be interesting to see if he tries to call his own game again. Ask Ramon Lauerano how that went.

Ramon will have nightmares about the Stros for the rest of his life the poor guy.

Astros will be wishing they never let Ramon go after Springer leaves for another team this year.
yandymania
Greinke still trying to psyche himself up to face the cacophonous stupor of the cardboard cutouts en route to a game 4 sweep after reliving the ownage Dreamy McKiermaier dropped on him last year

It will be so nice when the assbros are swept away like the trash they are. What a lowlife group of scumbags, wife beaters, and straight up cheaters.
astrosfansince1974
Most of the team doesn’t meet those descriptions.

To wit, none of the pitchers cheated. The scumbag/wife beater is Osuna of course. Most of the hitters weren’t there in 2017. Only Springer, Altuve, Bregman, Reddick and Correa were there in 2017.

Forgot Gurriel.

so only 6/9 still there or basically the same lineup that stole signs for multiple years in a row
